Maybe this is not Fake but Map in Alpha Stage

It's a fan made map.

Map doesn't change much from alpha to final build because Rockstar plans the map before they start to model it. There is some tiny changes of course but not that much. People should stop speculating about these "alpha" version maps.

Oh come now, Jantsu. At least take credit for your map and don't vaguely refer to it as a "fan made map". tounge2.gif

You should feel good, your map is still fooling people to this day. Not many of those fake maps from last year are still doing that.

Jantsu92: can you please update your map? looks great.

I think the GTAV map doesn't show all the streets like GTA IV did. It looks like its only showing main streets and freeways. And if thats the case then this map is going to be huge. I remember from viewing the IV map you could literally see every street.. Is this the same case with V? I dont think so, so the scale has to be different this time around as far as the map goes.

EDIT, on third thought, maybe it is showing all the streets.. Oh darn. So I guess what they meant to say was, in terms of interior and exterior its bigger than all three games combined?.. And then some...? Wait they did say that.

Not sure if this has already been posted, but remember a while back when a bunch of people used clues from screens and video to put a map together ?

This was posted on June. Id go out on a limb to say this map is much bigger than what many people were claiming and the part of the map that people are complaining about being small is just that, a small part of the map. Look at the partial map that Rockstar released and the one i posted, particularly the Los Santos sections. They are EXACTLY the same if you looks at the main roads and what i assume is the airport in the corner. user posted image

Odd thing to bring up, but I think we're looking at the map the wrong way, despite the N indicator.

Looking at the characters' zoom-outs from the trailer, you can see where they match up on the map, when it's rotated to the left.

As I said, really odd thing to bring up, but it bugged me for a moment.

Yes, I think also this is the right way, and this way it's also quite clear how much the map is almost the same as the one in GTA San Andreas

I'm glad that folks are agreeing here. biggrin.gif I'm also hoping that it'll also give others a different take on the map, as I can understand the people that were questioning its size/setup before.

With this, it seems to make more sense, and as kasa pointed out earlier, it matches more with San Andreas' original map, with Los Santos being southeast and the countryside surrounding it from the north to the west and then some.

You definitely have something, it looks a lot more..well right? Hopefully people will adapt their fan maps to show this change.

Yea i think you found the right position of the map..

Well that would make East LA(S) a lot bigger than it was before if that's right

It would mean the Richman hills are actually to the North (West looking on that angle), and the gang area's being South Central (East on that Angle). And then docks even more South (East), how it is in actual LA.

The only thing different is the angle the map is shown, north still points north.

If you go to the full in game map it might also be facing east, so it'll fit on a 16:9 screen better.

He's right. Here's a screenshot to prove it.

EDIT: Also the blueprint map clearly has the North arrow on the side, confirming that the map's oriented in the right way and that it's final. *flies away*

The only thing I'd be unsure of is how it's all just water to the North and Northeast. There is a road leading straight East but could just be a dock since you can see the coastline curve the Northern side.

I honestly think Los Santos is much closer to the eastern edge of the map, but I didn't really want to alter it to that extent, as I have no real proof/inkling of anything there.

I will say that the distance is definitely odd, but I think the original map compiler wanted to keep things centered.

I believe the map will hug the east side of the map. To the north of the city on the coast will be a Malibu area. Then inland will be a farmland/plains area. Leading to To the north west will be the mountains and zancudo river area with sandy shores. Then filtering down into the south, southwest area will be the deserts area and another large town.

What I'm basically saying is the countryside/mountains/desert will cocoon the city on all sides apart from the sea on the east side.
