EDIT3 : A more "accurate" (as most it can be...) map,

(Keep in mind I could be terribly wrong about the scale! (But I don't think so).

EDIT2 : according to Rockstar, this printed map is 21.5" x 26.75"

After doing a very quick and dirty resizing, I get something like this (old) :

Los santos looks... small:O

But if I recall correctly, Rockstar have said that LS is as big as Liberty City, so if LS looks that small there, the map is HUGE. LC wasn't the smallest place of all(well not the biggest either..), and I'm pretty sure there's alot of countryside and desert in the upper parts of the map.

I don't think this part of the map is Los Santos, this looks like it could be a decent sized other town somewhere else on the map

They said:

It looks pretty much smaller than LC sad.gif

Remove water from IV map. And move islands closer.

Red contour - LS map size on IV map.

 

and thats JUST the main city, Docks and Airport are still down south plus ALOT of country side. This map is going to be huge!

relax foos...dat map just show like one part of da city, like some residential area, not da whole city foos!!! if ya look closa you gona see roads goin down south..

Is that seriously how big they could make the city? I'm disappointed in that. I thought they'd at least make it bigger than Los Santos in GTA SA. It's weird because the city looks fairly big in screenshots like this.

It is absolutely bigger than the San Andreas version, at least 3x the size: http://www.gta-sanandreas.com/guides/tagsmap/tags.gif

Nice comparison, shows that the size is fine. Also, try to spot the big pier on the map, northwest of the airport. That pier is very small on the map, while in game we've already seen it's pretty large. Los Santos is obviously just a fraction of the map, and it's about the size of Liberty City and there is a ton of things to do and see just in that city. So this city is absolutely not too small.

It's easily 4 to 6 times bigger than GTA SA LS.

This looks the sort of size I'd imagine 1 of the small towns to look like.

You have no idea what the scale of the map is, else you wouldn't say that.
