Shifty_Nifty Posted August 18, 2013 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Do you reckon you could buy the garage and cars if you only got the SE, for example buying it off the MS Store (DLC) with MS points. my Mouthoff email to Rockstar: "Message: Are the CarbonRS, Hotknife, and Khamelion vehicles listed for the Collector's Edition exclusive to the edition, or just early access to them? I've sent about 5 or 6 Mouthoffs about this, its important to me to know this" Rockstar's Mouthoff email reply: "Hey there, Currently, the only way to guarantee access to the digital content from the Collector’s Edition or Special Edition of the game is to pre-order or purchase those specific versions. For details on everything that is available with these editions, check out www.rockstargames.com/V/preorder. Cheers, Rockstar Games" so basically, at launch the only way to get the content is by getting the corresponding edition. if it becomes DLC at a later point is yet to be seen, but the general consensus is that it will eventually based on Rockstar's history with Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3. While I think some of the digital stuff might become available later for a certain price, their all worth it to the right people. I have a friend who wants the CE just for the hat, so that just goes to show that the many editions appeal to certain fans. CE is mainly for the physical merchandise and everything else. Special Edition is mainly for the digital.. Minus the Custom Characters and extra Vehicles. Standard Edition is standard lol. Just the game and the blimp.. If you have reserved it. I myself thought I might get the Collectors, but because of the cost and the fact that I am getting the PS3 GTAV bundle, I gotta stick with the Special Edition, as long as I get the blueprint map. JRZ Posted August 22, 2013 Share Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) It's probably been asked, but does anyone have any insight on the Special Edition and Collector's Edition steel book case? It looks like it has a slipcover over it, but will the steel book actually house the game or will it be an alternate steel book case that's included with the regular plastic case? I don't assume anyone would know, but I have the Collector's Edition pre-ordered and having no steel books currently, it will bother me having a steel book in the middle of a row with plastic PS3 cases. It would bother me even more if they were regular DVD size and stick up because it wouldn't fit on my shelf then. I'm worried about that and am even considering pre-ordering the standard version just in case. (dumb I know). I'm sure it's been brought up, so if you have any insight of your thoughts, or can point me to the post about this sort of thing that would be greatly appreciated I was just wondering about the same thing. I assumed that if you get the SE or CE, you only get the steelbook case and not the standard plastic case (selling two cases with one game just seems a bit odd to me), but I could be wrong. Personally, I'd prefer if the steelbook had the traditional box art instead of the "exclusive artwork". Also, does anyone know why the case for the PS3 version seems extra tall, while the case for the Xbox 360 version looks like the standard height? I was going to SE, 'cause i thought CE don't worth the money.. however, i was looking for prices around the web in my country, and i found out all CE were sold out! It started a bad feeling inside me, soo much hate, so much revenge, then i thought i will never be the same if i didn't get the f*ckn CE! So, i searched online, and found a store which still accepts pre-orders.. I lost my head! CE's coming on 17th! And now, i'm completely fulfilled! i thought "f*ck it, it's the DAMN GTA V! and i want it all!!"
