I'll write an intro later, something really interesting just happened.

I was hyped with the first trailer, because I expected a huuuge world with whole San Andreas or at least San Diego ingame. But then I lost my hype more and more. I don't want to say the map won't be huge, but I lost it due to it didn't meet my expectations.

And the other thing my hype is gone more and more is they delay. I won't be able to play it until next year, because I will be abroad starting from September until in the end of August next year. Spring would have been perfect for me.

I was optimistic at first, but now I'm lowering my expectations a bit. The info here and there is healthy for the fan base IMO. It keeps the expectations from getting too lofty. I foolishly thought the map would be huge back in 2011. If you asked me to predict the map size back then, I would have said at least 40 square miles. Massive.

I'm never pessimistic about V; but my perception of it constantly changes.

That's strange.. because the closer we are to release the higher are my expectations. The new details a few weeks ago just hyped me even more. And somehow I am very sure I won't be disappointed.. unlike with IV of which I had too high expectations (not that I was disappointed with the game).

And I don't even have a console!

The question doesn't really make sense.

How often have my thoughts changed on it? Often monthly?

...what?

Same here. My expectasions are just getting higher when ever there is new pics or info released.

And as a PC gamer I have to wait few months longer than console gamers to get the game..

When there is actual new info, my thoughts on V change.

This incredibly long and painful wait since GTAV Trailer #1 on 2/11/11 falsely implied that GTAV marketing was starting, for a game that presumably should have been 6 to 8 months away at that time, has affected my thinking a lot more. And not in a good way.

I have been living with this empty GTAV hopelessness and continual disappointment for so long, that I am almost burned out, and so despondent, that the actual release of GTAV will seem like an abstract and unreal event, something I won't believe for a while, and which can no longer generate that magic that it would have, if it had been marketed properly. Those are my thoughts on V.

It's an unfortunate thing that a lot of you are letting the marketing affect your opinion on the actual game. Who cares? When the game is in your hands, none of this will matter.

The only thing I can say is that overhyping a game and having big, unrealistic/imaginary/personal expectations will always leave you disappointed when the actual game comes out.
