MikeyBelic
I mean imagine, your playing V and see something you haven't before, you pull over on the side of a road, you get out, jog across the road, nek minnet chops slaughtered into by a car and is never seen again, I don't think it'll personally work. Also. Remember that massive mountain from SA? Imagine if something like it was in V and you drove to the top, went to the edge and Chop somehow manages to fall down, is he just meant to have a nek minnet moment and appear right next to you? lmfao AND IMAGINE WHEN YOU BAIL A CAR AT HIGH SPEED LOL. - 'Accidentally' driving your car into the ocean at a high speed and bailing leaving chop. yakprince
Im sure it'll work if he IS accessible whenever we want. It'll probably be like friends in GTA IV if they die during a "date" a few hours later they're accessible again or call you to pick them up at the hospital. Chop may be the same way, prompting he wont be accessible because he's at the Vet for a few in game hours.

Finn 7 five 11
Isn't chop supposed to avoid dying? Like he can't die? If cars come out he hops the bonnet and stuff like that, because I don't think anyone wants Chop dying, otherwise it'd turn into a "Oh my gosh, you killed Kenny" thing, where Chop always dies and it's hilarious. I think you'd be able to leave the Dog at home when you feel it's necessary anyway, he just stays in his Kennel or on the front porch, something like that. It'd be funny if he attacked home invaders! Imagine coming back to the safehouse and there's chop on the lawn clamped onto someones leg .
dxbrandon
I doubt it will be really restricted to tbh.So i should be able to shoot Chop....I wonder what will happen.

Patriot_Action
I think Chop will be like your horse in RDR This. I anticipate Chop appearing more as an "ability" than a "fourth character" (though I'm sure he'll have roles in cutscenes/storyline), and that he'll somehow be granted invulnerability to damage and/or death. Freezer89
It hasn't to be that realistic.. as someone pointed out it'll probably be like the horse in RDR. But perhaps in a limited area, only in South LS where Franklin lives. Not that you can call Chop when you are in the mountains and he will be there within seconds when you left him at Franklins house or so.. right? He will be "immortal".. just like our protagonists. Imagine if something like it was in V and you drove to the top, went to the edge and Chop somehow manages to fall down That sounds f-in awesome. Dog rag-doll physics bouncing all the way down. Well, I'm adding that on my list of things to try when I'm just messing around.
Kiffster
I don't think Chop can die... Maybe if he takes too much damage he'll run away home. Or maybe he'll just be unconscious and regenerate health. Or maybe Chop can be killed. If so, maybe you can just buy a new dog. Or maybe if he dies he'll just respawn at home. I just hope Chop is not only available during certain missions... Sorry for all the maybes btw Edited June 25, 2013 by Werebot85

RichyB
Well it will be just liked if you killed Roman or summin in IV. i.e. he's very hard to kill, and if you manage it you'll have to start again, and 'nek minnet' you pick him up from the vet or summat. Braindawg
This topic is just another waste of time by people worrying too damn much. You think Rockstar are complete idiots and their plan was "Okay, so let's have chop take one hit, and if he dies you can never have him ingame ever again." Stop worrying so f*cking much about a dog. If he's in the game, his AI, his HP and his being in general has been accounted for.

All he can do is bark, not to mention he's got no thumbs Seriously though, I think it will take a lot to kill chop. Also, it will probably be like horses in rdr where we can whistle for him. Maybe we can get a dog whistle, possibly in the form of an app or something, that prompts Chop to come to our location.

MosquitoSmasher
Ever since they announced the dog, i've been hoping that he really can be used to follow you and that you can maybe give a command to let him attack whoever you want. Kinda like an improvement over friends/bodyguards in GTA IV. So instead that they would only start shooting if someone started shooting or attacking you, that you can really sic chop at folks. So far we haven't heard a thing about chop from previewers. Could be one of the features Rockstar wants gamers to find out for themselves. I'd like it too if its similar to RDR in this regard though..but you had the follow the dog, not the other way around. Not sure that would work. Soon as i have the game, i think i'll switch to Franklin right away to check this.

jameznash
Back in GTA SA - You could drive straight off the mountain jump out and skydive back to the ground. If Chop sits with you in the car when driving and you do something like that will he jump out as well? Will he have his own parachute? Will he just sit in a car when its on fire? or will he run like the wind. As for using him in a mission - will he be in the weapons selection at the top right of the screen? Fist / bat / dog / pistol etc? IS HE USED TO HELP FIND THE PEOPLE WHO KILLED LAMAR. Was he the only witness to the crime. Maybe a Turner and Hooch style rip off.
