Sgt. Foley
Hey there. So, lately, I've been wanting to have 2 operating systems on my computer, Windows 7, and Windows 8. I have everything ready, I did the partition, but I don't know how to directly put the OS on the partition? I didn't install anything yet. Can someone help me out? I'm not as good with computers as I used to be. Please help
Fozzy Fozborne
You can simply boot to a disc that has the operating system on it and choose custom install. Choose your second partition as the one you want the OS to be installed to and it should go to work right away. When you start your computer, it will ask you what version you want to load. Other operating systems are similar, most versions of Linux are more difficult to install. If you would like some more explicit instructions, check out this link from the Microsoft Community. Wolf68k
If you have Windows 7 Pro or better, it's possible you could have use VirtualPC and install Win8 into that. Then no need to partition anything or boot menu and so on, and it'll let you try out Win8 to some degree.

sivispacem
Do you want Windows 7 to be your primary OS whilst you experience Windows 8? Got 4GB or more of RAM? Just download Oracle VirtualBox and set up a small (say 50GB) virtual partition. That way you can play with Windows 8 to your hearts content without having to dual-boot of faff around with actual partitions. Wolf68k
I didn't know about Oracle VirtualBox. And now you can't run Microsoft VPC on Home Edition anything. That's why I said Pro or better.
nightwalker83
It is possible to dual/triple boot your computer to have Windows7\Windows8, etc on it! However, the boot list may appear broken because Windows 8 seems to set its stuff as default and you have to select from one or two menus to get to the other operating system.
