The next GTA needs to be in Dubai

Watch in 1080p & Full-screen, this video speaks a thousand words to me. You'll be hard-pressed NOT to admire the absolute beauty shown in this video.

Imagine this on Next-Gen Consoles/PC's. Dubai looks absolutely gorgeous. It's got city, it's got towns, it's got desert, a wide range of things to do, and places to see.

(I am not advertising the video, I don't know the guy who made it, but I cannot begin to describe how Utopian and divine it looks)

Opinions?

Definitely.

America has no other cities which could be great.

And doing NY and LA etc over and over again becomes old.

London... well... the english live there so... no.

But Dubai, that city is the one of the most interesting places in the world.

Lots of money, lots of great cars, its perfect.

Maybe. But it's probably going to be a while until R* decides to make a game that takes place outside of the US

Dubai seems cool, but I'd rather see a city in the UK or Japan.

what about vice city......?

And Dubai isn't really known for crime so while it is a very nice city, built with modern day slave labor and whatnot, I can't see a gta in Dubai.

Anyways, yeah Dubai would be great aesthetically. Honestly, any city would be fine as long as it's interesting and diverse.

City looks great, but it's not the right fit for GTA. Maybe if they loosen up a bit.

In the country:

:: Swearing or making rude gestures is considered to be an obscene act and offenders can be arrested by police.

:: Public displays of affection, including kissing and holding hands, could lead to arrest if deemed to be offensive.

:: Sex outside marriage is banned and unmarried couples who live together or even share a hotel room are committing an offence, although this is unlikely to be a problem in Dubai. Adultery is illegal.

:: Homosexual behaviour and cross-dressing is forbidden.

:: In situations other than on the beach or by the swimming pool, a woman's clothing may be considered indecent if it is tight, transparent, above the knee or shows her stomach, shoulders or back. A man should not wear shorts or show his chest. Underwear should not be visible.

:: Visitors can only drink alcohol in licensed hotels or clubs, and drinking alcohol or being drunk in public is an offence. In the emirate of Sharjah, any alcohol consumption is illegal.

:: Driving after consuming any amount of alcohol is against the law.

:: Photography of certain government and military buildings is banned, and visitors should always ask before taking pictures of people.

:: Failing to pay a bill or bouncing a cheque can lead to a fine and even imprisonment.

:: During the fasting month of Ramadan, visitors should not eat, drink or smoke in public places. Live and loud music is also banned.

I went there 3 months ago and I agree, Dubai IS the future.

When I went up the Burj Khalifa building, I even heard a song from GTA 3!

If the police caught you in a gta based in Dubai, you'd no longer be able to drive since they'd cut off your hands!

The only reasonable law in Dubai. And that applies to real life, you shouldn't drink and drive

But in gta its fun to drink and drive!

Dubai LOOKS LIKE the future.

They're just trying to build up large home for business and tourism before their oil money runs out.

On Topic: I nominate Sydney or Melbourne, Australia. Or somewhere in Italy or Spain.

I see you got the idea for this topic from here lol.

Anyway, I am very open to this idea. A GTA in Dubai would be great, and I am saying this because I know R* will do a great job on the setting.

Personally I think rockstar should take inspirations from several parts of the world instead of basing it in one place. While maintaining R* take on American culture.

The US has plenty of Cities left . Chicago, St. Louis , Detriot in the Mid West. New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Houston, Memphis and Atlanta in the South. Vice City is still there

It would've been great if they had included an island (or island chain) off the coast from Los Santos that represented Hawaii.

A R* version of Honolulu and the surrounding island would be fantastic.

Dubai is not the future. It's just arabs from desert who made easy money on oil.

Future - its developed nations who lead this world, who are moving this world forward

And why are we talking about the next GTA alrady if this one isn't out yet? There will be at least 5 years more ahead to talk about it.

As for your idea of Dubai, I think the only way to feat GTA was in the end of GTAV after earning all the money and travel there to use it, Dubai is a place ofr rich not criminals (well that also depends on the perspective, nowadays anyone is rich without being a criminal, and economy was taken by criminals but thats another talk).

well first of all, it actually doesn't NEED to be in dubai tounge.gif it would and could be an okay place, but that doesn't meen they NEED to do it.

But would it really fit in tounge.gif

Would love to see a new take on London. I think the list of possible GTA cities is limited to english-speaking ones because understanding the NPCs is pretty much crucial..

It's a very interesting topic – where will Rockstar go next time around?

That said, it's WAY too early to even start speculating about the setting of the next installment. Let's enjoy Los Santos first!

Dubai is a dead city. Nothing but rich business men. There is no couture there really. The city was built by poor underpaid workers from abroad that worked in terrible conditions under horrible contracts. I think Dubai is one of the most unnatural places on earth. If the next GTA was to be set there I'd like it to be set in the slums about 5 miles out from the city away were no one can see them.

GTA is an American satire its been that way ever since GTA 3, Dan Houser even said it wouldn't work anywhere outside America....

A pile of sh*t is still a pile of sh*t no matter how much glitter you cover it in.

My take on Dubai.

I don't think I would enjoy GTA outside of the USA. No matter what country it was in.
