The New Blueguy
http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/arti...eek-to-psn.html Rockstar Games have announced that next Tuesday, May 28, 2013, the PS2 Classic, The Warriors based on Walter Hill's 1973 cult film of the same name will be coming to the Playstation Network store. With news of the re-release of The Warriors and the recent re-release of the original Manhunt also on PSN, I thought it would be good time to drum discussion on the potential of GTAV's combat system focusing on the sparringly discussed stealth and hand to hand components of the game. To this point, we seem to know nothing more than it's there and it's improved on. Though Rockstar has admitted that it may not have seen improvements quite on the level of the gunplay. I'm wondering for those who have played or seen footage of The Warriors game, whatdo you hope Rockstar will bring back or use as inspiration from The Warriors amd Manhunt, and also what types of mini-games or business ventures would you like to see in regards to melee combat? Would you be up for a full combo system? Something akin to the recent Batman Arkham games with a more street/biker gang feel maybe? Personally, on the base level I'm just hoping for the basics of learning new combos and techniques while leveling up your strength along with an expanded array of melee weapons (maybe a sledgehammer or two-handed katana for once?) On the higher end of things maybe a more robust grappling system (nothing UFC or wrestling game extensive obviously); at least more than grab/punch, grab/knee combos. On the business side, I'd love to run an underground fight club complete with hiring different styles and tiers of fighters that would make you more money for a higher cut. Then you could even compete in the matches yourself to learn new fighting moves and such. What would be a really cool social club integration would be not only to compete against other players in free roam, but what if you could earn money fighting in other players clubs? Like you invest money in your club and training for your stable of fighters and try to promote it as an unbeatable club for social club bragging rights and Rockstar swag like t-shirts and such. The New Blueguy
off-topic but im glad to see some more classics back to the PSN Store. Thanks for sharing Yeah I knew it was essentially off-topic but I wanted to relay it on the main forum people use most while tying it into GTAV because I've only ever heard people in the GTAV community speak positively of the game in terms how it could inspire GTAV's fisticuffs. Cosmic Gypsy
Even if they releases the original with no improvements, i'll be over the moon. Finally they've given us The Warriors, one of my all time favourite games. Truly classic game, bring on split screen. In my view, V's melee system should be identical to TW, since GTA's melee system is terrible and TW amazing. TW has much better movement in general, far more responsive and fluent. Whereas GTA is clunky, unresponsive and slow.
lloydo
This is brilliant. It's such a great game, I hope GTAV development took notice of its gameplay.
