Blingy Posted May 21, 2013 Share Posted May 21, 2013 As we all know, R* has gone though many types of names and games, one being Angel Studios (who produced Midtown Madness, to those PC O.G.'s out there) and in the time that they were going under that moniker, they created a game that hasn't even been thought of since. Smuggler's Run. I'm going to spare the viewer with the history (assuming they've done enough research), and just cut straight to the BS. We need to have SR-type side missions where we have to modify an off-road vehicle for high speeds, big jumps, and gunfire. The player would take their modified off-road vehicle, and cut across the countryside against 3, or 4 other players to grab the package (be it weapons, ammuntion, drugs, or even parts) and deliver it to whoever it be. There could be various weather and various types of blockades one would have to deal with, like the S.W.A.T., various factions who want in on the action, booby-traps, or jealous foes. If finished all of the SR-styled missions, you could be rewarded a cast of items, like a Sandking, a heavily-modified Bandito, clothes, weapons, or even reduced-bounties from gangs or Police. I have no idea if anything like this will make it into the game though, but it would be fun. Even if it were just off road races, which we know are in the game. The second Smuggler's Run even had close to next-gen graphics even. It would just make sense for them to put SOMETHING from SR into V. Back then, those were mindblowing games. Looking at the graphics for the first one is like looking at a really recent PS1 game. Only they had no idea back then of what the PS2 would be capable of.. Back in the day me and my friends would play it together, and race each other to the top of the highest mountain, whoever won would get the mountain named after them for a while lol, like Mt Kiliman-Lewie, or Mt Kiliman-Aplin haha. Yea we definitely need some SR inspired game modes, maybe in GTAO through updates if there isn't any yet.
