Saintdestroyer
I am 24, and I will know I will learn eventually, but I am still a student and still spend so much time studying, and plus I will be moving away in a few years to live in America (which is where I will probably do my test). Having said all that, I do still love cars, I love looking at them, reading about them and playing racing games such as Forza and GT. Does it make me strange? 018361
Not at all. I think you sound pretty "normal". Although I don't really understand why you would be moving to America. Everything sucks here.
Gummy
No it doesn't, There are a lot of car lovers out there that can't drive yet.
Cosmic Gypsy
When i was a kid i was so sure i'd get my driving license as soon as i was old enough, which at the time was 17. I'm now 22 and don't plan on ever learning to drive. The money involved when it comes to running a car legally is just ridiculous.
K^2
Not at all. I loved airplanes and flight before I started flying. Just try to channel it into actually learning useful things. If you learn about how the cars function and not just what different cars look like (oh, how many "car lovers" that do just that I've met) you'll be a safer driver and be able to save money. Oh, and unless you end up living in the few of the largest cities, driving in US is a survival skill. You can live in a city of nearly half a million with no decent public transportation system. And if you live in suburbs, you might not have as much as a convenience store within convenient walking distance. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.
Whiskey
I'm an auto fan. I can drive, but I don't have a car. I can't afford one unfortunately, the only thing I can't afford is the car insurance. It's borderline extortionate here in Ireland for first-time drivers. The joys of being a college student.
The Pizza Delivery Guy
I've always loved cars. I started learning to drive at age 8. It doesn't make you weird. You're pretty normal for most people.
sivispacem
Half the Vehicle Chat section is filled with teenagers who are years away from being able to drive. Ex Hellraiser
I loved cars since I was 5. I am 17 and had my license for a year (it will be exactly a year tomorrow, actually )I've loved planes and flying, long before I got the chance to fly a plane. I love guns, but I've never had the opportunity to shoot one. I love merciless killing of innocents in virtual worlds, but I don't rampage out my front door. I also love vaginas, but, well... you get the idea... Completely normal.
MrcTOtheJ
It's not weird at all. I've loved cars since I was...three-ish or so, and my mom began to teach me how to read out of an Auto Trader or two. Eventually I started spouting off names of cars, and she paid no attention at first but she released I was naming them off right a good portion of the time as they past at like three and a half to four-ish maybe. My dad was a Car Guy as well (My mom wasn't she just had one around and used it because I liked Hot Wheels) which also influenced it. Don't worry though, I'm 18 going to be 19 this year and I don't have my License either, don't have a car so I never bothered really. I've driven mind you, granted not legally, but it's a small town and most of the time it was out in the back woods. But I do plan on getting my License this summer, as well as a car, as I’ll need one to commute if I get a job in the town over. And like sivispacem said, a good portion of this section is people whom can't drive as it is, hell I was 14-15 when I was most active in this section. GrandMaster Smith
I've always been really intrigued by cars. As far back as I can remember I always had a lamborghini poster above my racecar bed as a child lol. I'd always look through the autotrader to find Dodge Vipers since they were my favorites back then Though I had no delay in getting my licence. My mom would always let me drive her car back from town on the back roads when I was 13-14, got a car when I was 15, got my permit the day of my birthday then my licence the day I turned 16. Been driving pretty much ever since. I love driving and love cars even before I could drive. By no means are you strange lol. Just learn how to drive a manual, after finally getting rid of my automatic 88 GLE Volvo and getting a stick shift wanna-be ricer I don't think I could ever go back. So much more control and just immerses you into the experience of driving so much more.
Trinette
Furthest thing from weird. I like traveling but I can't really do it yet as in depth as I'd like to. sometimes. you look very strange. somewhat smiling. a little vain. saying not today. Kifflom112
Cars have always been my thing. I just love the way they work and their materials, the look. Right now I know more about cars than some random Joe's who can afford expensive cars.
Sneakerhead.
No you are not weird, I only drove a car once, and I really love cars, I collect Hotwheels, Matchbox, Diecast 1/64 and 1/18 cars, I also play games like GT and FM4 and I am only 13. Just because you like something that you can't do yourself doesn't make you weird, I like cars, yet I don't know how to drive at all. (Unless it's a Go-Kart, which in that case I am pretty decent. )
Sgt. Foley
Wow, I'm 14 and haven't drove a car at all You're lucky GTAction, my dad doesn't let me anywhere near his truck unless im getting a ride I also have a passion for cars, I love Subaru's, Ferrari's, and Lamborghini's! My dream car is a Subaru BR-Z all blacked out.
Oddsock
Why the f*ck would it make you strange? People like all kinds of things they cannot get. I love space travel and astronomy but I can't travel to space. I love aviation but I don't have my pilot's license. I love girls but, well... MrcTOtheJ
Yeah my dad didn't have a driver's licsense untill he was 38 or so. Mind you he still drove especially when we moved into a more Rural area. Also like OdDsOcK I love Space Travel, I can't go to space...yet. If I get the capital I am going on one of those Virgin flights to space, wearing a TNG era Star Trek uniform. @Sgt. Foley BR-Z is a great car, the neighbor behind me has an FR-S, and I'm jelous. Allot of engineering for a car that's in the $20,000-$25,000 range from all of the stuff I've read on the GT-86/BR-Z. Everytime I open a Modified Mag or a Super Street, I can't not see them everywhere either...god I want one (Among allot of other cars). Also sorry about you not driving. First time I rember driving was my dad, middle of nowhere off road when I was Seven or so in our 1970 Jeep Wagoneer couldn't really reach the petals without half standing half sitting on his lap, and well, we didn't really stay on the trail it was fun though. I miss that Jeep.
Killerdude
I love planes, Yet I cannot fly, And I'm pretty normal, I'd say your safe. When you do get to drive though, Beware of dumbass drivers, They'll take the enjoyment out of your cruise faster then you can possibly imagine. Oh and not only drivers, But Dumbass pedestrians as well.
Mitsuha
@TS: Nah. Not weird at all. I love cars, especially those skylines. And I don't know how to drive yet.(and still can't). But I still used to go to an arcade to play Wangan Maximum Tune, a racing game, which is one of my favorite childhood arcade games. That's how I loved cars. Talakua
Nah, nothing strange about that at all. I have loved cars ever since I was old enough to comprehend what a car was (probably about age 2). I got my driver's licence at age 20.
unc13bud
i was drawing pictures of speed racer and the mystery machine when i was five years old. and i didn't even want to learn how to drive when i was old enough, i only did it cause my younger brother was getting his license and i didn't want him to do so before me.
