GTAFan0913
I am hoping for this as well. GTA IV honestly did not have many good rock songs. Liberty Rock Radio was mediocre in my opinion. Hoping they step it up a notch in GTA V. Even San Andreas had some great stuff. I knew I wasnt alone on this issue. Gta iv had good music, but not good rock music. How awesome would it be driving along the fictional version of pacific coast highway listening to Aerials by System. It would be epic We speak the same language. What you described just there got me excited. I would also like to add that Avenged needs to be in. That band is easily in my top 3 bands of the last decade. I've seen them live multiple times and it gets me tingly just thinking about them in GTA V. Edited May 21, 2013 by GTAFan0913
GTAFan0913
Avenged Sevenfold - 'quality' ? only REAL bands: Tool - AEnema Mastodon - Hunters of the Sky Slayer - War Ensemble Megadeth - Tornado of Souls Metallica - Blackened Soundgarden - Superunknown Alice In Chains - Check My Brain System Of A Down - P.L.U.C.K. Pantera - Mouth For War Testament - Trial By Fire A Perfect Circle - Magdalena Faith No More - Epic The Sword - How Heavy This Axe The Melvins - Honey Bucket Corrosion Of Conformity - Albatross Black Sabbath - War Pigs Iron Maiden - The Number of The Beast Municipal Waste - Sadistic Magician Meshuggah - Bleed Rage Against The Machine - Born of a Broken Man Anthrax - Madhouse Fantômas - The Godfather Judas Priest - Electric Eye Korn - Freak on a Leash Exodus - Bonded by Blood Deftones - Change (In The House Of Flies) Gojira - L'Enfant Sauvage Machine Head - Imperium All the bands you listed are good bands, and as far as Avenged Sevenfold to each its own, but imo I think Avenged is better than half of the bands you named Then you clearly have no idea about music and just listen to certain bands because they have radio appeal over artistic intent. I also doubt you have heard any of those bands that you claim Avenged Sevenfold is better than. What a stupid f*cking name for a band anyway I hope you are being sarcastic. Not everyone will enjoy the bands you listed. BTW, they hardly play Avenged on the radio and when they do it is usually the same old song. However, just because someone is a fan of them does not mean they are because they heard them on the radio... I've been listening to them since before they even got famous, so quit assuming. I would say I highly enjoy 90% of the songs you listed. However, there are a few I could leave. But I also enjoy A7X. If you don't, well then.. fine. But you're missing out
the nameless
I kinda grew out of rock music from the mid 00's, naturally there will always be songs and bands I will like from all eras and most styles, but I don't listen to rock stations too much these days, I would like to see some in gta v though. Such as: Queens of the Stone age - Go with the flow, little sister CKY - Flesh into gear S.O.A.D - Aeriels, Chop suey, Toxicity Maralyn Manson - Fight song, Coma white, Sweet dreams Slipknot - wait & bleed, vermillion, spit it out Blink 182 - Anthem Placebo - Black eyed, bitter end, every you every me Dragonforce - through the fire and flames But if they only use one rock band of recent times, it should be the Foo Fighters - where I can only list 3 or 4 songs from most bands, the amount of FF songs I would love to here on it is huge. IV was sh*t for rock music. Only songs I liked from LRR were The Seeker by the who, Heaven & Hell by Black Sabbath, 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins, Edge of 17 by Stevie Nicks and from the EFLC, Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden. They even used one of my least favourite Queen songs - One Vision. Some great driving songs are needed for V, from the classic rock genre, maybe songs like: Chris Rhea - Road to Hell Iggy Pop - The Passenger Allman Brothers Band - Jessica - or Ramblin' Man Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper ELO - Mr Blue Sky ZZ Top - La Grange Neil Young - Like A Hurricane The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again - or Love Reign O'er Me Willie Nelson - On the Road Again Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the devil ........and yes, I'm going to say it, Meatloaf - Bat out of Hell Of course not everyone will agree with these choices, that is why I want a user made station, or iFruit playlist from your consoles hard drive would be perfect, man, if they did that I would fill it with Christmas songs in December. Dick Valor
LRR was pretty much my favorite radio station... Same. I thought IV handled rock fairly well, with a nice blend of mainstream hits and underground gems. Hip hop is where IV was unfortunately lacking imho. I'm not going to point any fingers since I don't know many people on these forums personally, but I have feeling that many people just want GTA V's radio to be the same as the real world's FM radio. Volition kind of does that with their crime sandbox franchise (the one that shouldn't be named here), and I find that the stations don't have much lasting appeal in those games. I guess the "mainstream" and "true to the real world" FM radio stations work very well in games set in previous decades (like GTA VC and GTA SA) as it adds to the nostalgia of the "good ol' days". It just doesn't seem to work nearly as well in games that are set in a relatively modern setting since the nostalgia that can be added is absent (since it's the time we're living in). ChillyPhilly
This wouldn't be out of place in V. I can just picture myself spinning around desert sand in a utility with Trevor. Or in a sleazy bar on a hot day. Trevor walks in, only to spot several members of The Lost sitting around, drinking. They see him. Epic bar brawl ensues. First heard it in xXx (2002). Not that much of a stoner rock fan, but Queens of the Stone Age and this song in particular are quality.
