Jakee.
GTA V Countdown I have created a website that is dedicated to counting down the time until the launch of Grand Theft Auto V, it is still very much in development however progress so far is enough to consider the website half done! It is essentially the bare-bones countdown, however I have specifically put a lot of effort into the look and feel of the website, I took this AirSol plane ticket from the RockstarGames Social Club and recreated it within HTML, and it can be found on the gtav.pw countdown website. What makes this countdown special? - This is actually one of the only countdowns that is being maintained almost daily, with each new batch of screenshots, I add the best looking ones. I also accept feedback fro you guys, so you can help shape the site for the future. I have also put a lot of effort into the site, steering away from the same-old generic countdown websites towards a more interactive and interesting countdown. Can I control the countdown? - Yes, you can. There is an options menu containing some useful controls which pertain to how the countdown runs, you can select whether you want yo include artworks and also select the interval as to when the slideshow starts moving. Useful Links: Countdown Website Countdown Options Countdown Changelog Countdown Twitter Account * Decided to make a new thread for this as the old one was cluttered! This is the official, more organised topic for the countdown I am working on. Edited May 21, 2013 by Jakee.

But now that I see it again maybe I shouldn't have looked: still 119 more days? It feels like time has frozen

Asian_Ninja1
This is good but can you add seconds so I acually can see it go down.
Jakee.
I iterated this before somewhere, I am not adding seconds due to a few reasons; - They do not really suit the website (its a plane ticket!) - They look silly - I don't like having something constantly moving! The ticket updates every minute, and it will countdown. Adding seconds will just make time feel like even more of an eternity! I may do this for future GTA titles, but that won't be for a few more years yet! Anyway, Accepting your opinions and suggestions on the site. Let me know what you want! Booya818
I have the app for ipad. It's pretty nice and clean and also has a GTA quiz lol. I personally can't look at it anymore. I feel the more I monitor it the slower it goes. So damn excited about this game. A week off work, la z boy filled with beer, gf at her mums and GTA 5. Wish it would hurry up already

Jakee.
Been a while since I last kept you guys updated with this, mainly due to most of the updates being behind the scenes stuff. Anyway: - Recently moved to a new server, much faster due to being "in the cloud" - Added social buttons to share with friends - Added an "About GTAV.PW page" - Added the ability to contact us should you want to - Also added additional information to each character when you select "user older characters too", this is so then not everyone is on the exact same flight in the exact same seats etc. Also, something small but added a keyboard shortcut to change the background, just press the right key on your keyboard and a new background will be randomly selected if you don't like the one currently on screen Whilst the site has dwindled down, the Twitter Countdown has been doing very well. If you aren't already following, feel free to do so! The twitter handle is @GTAVCountdown So yeah, as I always say, if you have any suggestions or comments please feel free to post them in the thread, or even use the contact form on the site if you prefer. Jakee.
REAL TIME COUNTDOWN: http://gta5countdown.com/ my homepage If you took your time to actually watch the countdown on gtav.pw, you would see it is also realtime. As I have stated a million times before, I remove seconds from the countdown as the whole point of GTAV.pw was to give the affect of having a plane ticket, and I didn't want something constantly moving.. But hey, if you prefer a half-assed website with no real effort, go ahead.

Jakee.
not down to the second. and i can actually read it. dont be so butthurt because its better It is actually realtime down to the second, again I will state seconds was removed late in development, I could very easily add it in again and be sorted. (infact, it is one line of code.) I don't want my thread to become a spamfest, this thread is purely here for the people who actually appreciate the work I have done, and for those who like the website. If you want to use the website you stated, go ahead, no-one is stopping you.

Jakee.
Hello Guys, Sorry for bumping the thread, have been doing a little work to the site to improve the speed and also, by popular demand, include seconds on the countdown. I have also made a lot of changes server side, old preferences are lost but when you visit you can change them again, I have added an option if you would not like to view the seconds on the countdown, as I am sure there are a few people that would prefer it how it was before. (Options Page) You should also notice some improvement to the speed, latest tests show the website loading in less than a second which is fantastic! Thank you for the continued support, I really appreciate it! Full Changelog: Removed query strings from static content Seconds displayed on countdown by default, can be changed in the options page Updated the way cookies are set, will need to set options again Removed obsolete CSS and JavaScript code Minor changes to plane ticket design Social Media Integration descriptions updated Updated Pre-Order link, linked to official pre-order page Artworks now included by default, can be turned off in the options section www.gtav.pw Edited June 30, 2013 by Jakee. ScotchMouth
As much as I want to see the improvements I don't want to click. It seems like the closer we get to the date the further away it is. Tomorrow we break into july. That's good news. I did click. It looks good and loads good. What about a way to alternate between the current days countdown and weeks. I would occasionally like to see how many weeks we have left. Smaller numbers put my mind at ease

Shouldn't be too hard to implement, but, to put your mind at ease we currently have around 11 weeks to wait!

You can select "Weeks and Days" from the options menu, it will then display the amount of weeks and days remaining. E.g, as of today there are 11 weeks and 2 days to go. Thanks for the kind words everyone [May be a bit glitchy as I had to rewrite the countdown code, if you notice any issues with it please do let me know and I can get onto resolving it right away!]
