Hayze Posted May 20, 2013 Share Posted May 20, 2013 I think aspects of GTA that players have become accustom to would be hard to incorporate with a female protagonist like hookers, strip clubs, or just being to sell the idea of a female being like a hitman, errand boy, etc and progressing in the way male protagonists can in GTA games. Like with their type of satire and humor there'd probably become an over saturation of corny pickup line jokes and sexualization (is that even a word?) of your protag when dealing with people giving you missions unless they were also all mainly female. How many games featured badass female protagonists with masculine physical features and a tomboyish personality? How many players would be open to this character archetype? Demoniku22 Posted May 21, 2013 Share Posted May 21, 2013 I'm fine with any sex being a main character in the game, the only problem is that majority of developers git a bunch of b.s. cause in some way or another a lot (not all) of women tend to portray this as sexism in one form or another. A lot of girls like to wear tight skimpy outfits, do that in a video game and now the developers get sh*t cause this character is to sexualized. Make her to tough, "oh why you make her come of as a lesbian?". The easiest way for them not to get crap for this these days is more than likely just to stay away from female characters, just my opinion. To those who say a female wouldn't fit, care to explain how? gta involves hand to hand combat women typically aren't great in a street fight and the protagonist has to gain the respect of their boss and others and a woman wouldn't do that. we see criminals in movies that are women but they are usually thieves not people that fist fight or kill people. do you think vlad from gta iv would have given any respect if instead of niko nina was doing the jobs? I want to act like I'm a f*cking gangster with Franklin, I want to be that rich guy with Michael, I want to be that crazy motherf*cker with Trevor... What would a female do in a heist game anyway? If they want to do a DLC with a girl no problem but I don't want her to be related to the main storyline of just doing a few apparences like Niko in TBOGT/TLAD. Most GTA games are based off movies Vice City = Scarface GTA 3 = Goodfellas/Godfather and so forth. It would not fit the game's tradition and there is no guarantee that a female would get positive feedback by the fans. Her physical abilities aren't as good as those of a man (and if they are she would look pretty close to a man) thats a sh*tty excuse man, and remember its just a videogame, it can happen. And knowing R*, they could make it happen very easily. besides, what about catalina from gtasa & gtaIII, that bitch was f*cking crazy, and she was very capable aswell.
