dazzed
Hello. So i reinstalled GTA 4, because i got a new PC in February this year. When i installed the game 2 Months ago it was running with 5 FPS or something like that. So i uninstalled it. But yesterday i wanted to play the game again and tried to find a fix for the performance problem. When i reinstalled the game and tried to start it, it started as normal and then crashed after 10 seconds. I tried to start the game a few more times but had no succes. There isn't even a error report or something. Can someone help me ? I tried at the official Rockstargames-forums, but no one replied. Miro
Where do you have the game from? Are you playing with the original DVD in your Drive? Are you using any cracks or mods? Try installing these: Games for Windows Live Update, the GTA IV Patch 1.0.7.0 & the .NET Framework 3.5. In case nothing helps, try to use xliveless which, however, disables online play. Lastly you could try to run the game in different compatibility modes and as administrator, and maybe even re-install it. Dead (Retired)
dazzed
I bought the game back in 2009, but wasn't able to play because my PC wasn't good enough back then. I don't have any mods or cracks. And when i try to start the game the DVD is in the drive. I've tried reinstalling the game and running it in compatibility mode(XP, SP3) but it didn't work. I installed the Patch you suggested and i played without Problems. I hope this will stay so. Thanks alot to you.

radioman
I have another Problem now, i can't save the game.I am loged in in Game for windows live. Do you have the latest update for Windows Live? If not, install that.. Alternatively, you can use the Xliveless tool to bypass Live and it will allow you to save the game the same way as all previous GTA's...
