Will You 'Blindly' Buy GTAV?

I attempted to Pre order it the day the first trailer was released. Of course I'm going to buy it day one without watching any reviews or anything. I only do that for games I'm unsure if they would be good or not like i will with Watch Dogs or The Last Of Us. But I know GTA V will be amazing so I will get it without hesitation.

Everyone should check reviews before buying Watch Dogs. I certainly will be. Nobody even knew about the game this time last year and now everyone is obsessed by and saying it ms better than GTA. It's the first game in a series (I'm assuming) so how do you know it's gonna be any good? Marketing is marketing...they are trying to make it look interesting. No way I'd give money for something that is potentially and most likely a load of sh*t.

First true crime was supposed to be the GTA killer and game of the generation. Then saints row then sleeping dogs lol. But none of them did it. That's why I'm very skeptical of watch dogs. I don't understand people who get caught up in the hype that ubisoft is drumming up. It will basically be assassins creed in an urban environment IMO. But that doesn't mean I'm not interested at least a little bit. But I'm going to be very skeptical and critical of it before I drop $60 on it.

I never blindly buy anything. I trust R* because they've never let me down in the past. When GTA V releases I won't read reviews, but I will check and see what the general consensus is based on the metascore(not the stupid user score!)

 

If it's "8+" I'll buy it ASAP. If it's below "8" I'll probably listen to a couple reviews from the sites/people I trust before I make my purchase.

The guy can barely comprehend what people are talking about and it's no surprise what he says isn't even comprehend-able. Saints Row and Sleeping Dogs are a Small Shadow of IV. But if he honestly favors those two games over IV. Let him, his just Butthurt it wasn't like SA with CJ and Gangsters. It was too, realistic and ahead of his time to be able to adapt.

Too many people here try to use their opinion as fact, especially when it comes to GTA IV. I love GTA IV even though I have my problems with it. I couldn't get into SD and SR was horrible in my opinion.

These statistics are most interesting. The trend seems to be consistent -- 96% of GTAF members will buy GTAV regardless at this point, while the other 4% are not entirely convinced yet. Thanks for posting & voting guys, keep it up. This is a good discussion.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't need to read reviews from: Rockstar Games, Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Bethesda, Rocksteady, Santa Monica, Epic Games, or Kojima Productions. It's not fanboyism, it's the fact that these studios have always released high quality products and it's VERY obvious that they love what they do.

And so what if there wasn't Chainsaws, Katana's, Miniguns, did that make the game less fun? Yes there were flaws, but it was their first HD GTA game on this gen, no blame can go to Rockstar at all. Reviews from different sites don't help people at all, unless you've seen gameplay video's yourself and basing things off words that sites make up from their own point of view is just stupid.

Loved the Handling, Preferred the shooting. So I agree with this, people who didn't like the handling just couldn't adapt like you said. It'll be the same as IV just more polished, and most likely even more UNFORGIVING then IV. Don't expect it to be like SA.

An opinion is your personal view about something. In my opinion, GTA IV was awesome, but not everybody shares that same opinion.

Name one game that is better than the GTA series or even close to it. There is no game that is better than GTA, not anymore. The last comparable one was AC2. Games used to be different, there used to be tons of series that were each and every one of them good in their own way. Devs used to be original and fair, doing what they do best. Now it's all gone, except R*. They've all corrupted, except R*. Look at how good AC, Hitman, Splinter Cell, Battlefield, etc. used to be. Now they're either gone, corrupted or taken over by companies like EA. Remember how good and one of a kind Splinter Cell was, now turned generic shooter. Hitman, still reasonably good but heavily corrupted. AC, started a downfall by turning generic after AC2. Battlefield, this pains me the most, developer who is on par with R*, forced to do things like releasing a game too early and deliberately leaving out features for DLC. It just infuriates me. Ubisoft is another developer I still trust. They nailed it with FC3, a succesful revival of one of those series full of originality and quality. Though Ubi also ruined Splinter Cell and AC, they still have a little bit of it in them.

R* is the only large developer that kept it real and didn't throw their shoe at quality and perfection by focusing on money. Oh no, R* focuses on performance! They seek to outdo themselves each every single time, and they do it alright. Few developers still focus on originality and perfection as they used to. Mainly small developers, too. Believe me when I say I don't turn a blind eye towards other games, because I will always keep an eye out for one those other original developers to release a game. A game that is on par with R*'s.

He clearly said the game lacked those things and would had been better with them, I also agree.. I find it quite pathetic with people who didn't like the Handling Considering it was "OPINION" the best FREE ROAMING DRIVING HANDLING game this Gen.
