cp1dell
So I know that mods that convert the episodic content across games aren't allowed (which is strange considering some of the hosted mods on here do exactly that for the III Era games), but that's not what this is about. So we can all agree IV was lacking a few features. But the DLC fixed that. TLAD added a few nice vehicles, activities, and weapons, and TBoGT added loads of stuff that people enjoyed, plus both added some new pedestrians to the city. The only problem is that the two DLCs were standalone content. They added nothing to IV gameplay-wise. Honestly, it kind of surprised me that after almost five years, no one has tried to port some of that sweet content to IV. What's up with that? Is it even possible? Now, I'm going to assume the reason these kinds of mods aren't allowed because it kind of supports pirating, and that it takes away the need to buy EFLC when you could just download the mod for IV. But why hasn't someone written a guide for owners of IV+EFLC and have an understanding of modding on how to move the content of the game they own over to the other (EFLC to IV). This would only be useful to people who own both games. Which brings up the question, is this even possible? Would a modder be able to update the IV map to the one EFLC has? Would a modder be able to add the weapons from TLAD & TBoGT to IV and script a way to obtain said weapons? Would it be possible to port over the new pedestrians and vehicles to IV to spawn in traffic and on the sidewalk? If so, why hasn't anyone done it or written a guide for owners of IV+EFLC on how to do it? I could see it greatly benefiting IV by adding the content to it, but that's beside the fact. Why hasn't anyone done this, or tried to do this? Is it just not possible?
cp1dell
Bump. Anybody? If there is a way to do this, it'd be great for people who own IV+EFLC and want the content from EFLC in IV.
Causeless
It'd be done the other way around. Port missions from GTA IV to EFLC, not port features from EFLC to GTA IV, as porting features back consists of just duplicating them with scripts I believe. I think one of the IV modders (Blaster_NL, possibly? I can't really remember) did it, but never released it.
cp1dell
So it would be easier to just port missing features from IV+TLAD into TBoGT basically? I can understand why it was never released, considering it's against the rules. I wonder how tough of a job it was.
