Paramedics and police's line of sight?

I was playing GTA IV just now and i had some cars exploding with plenty of pedestrians dead on the ground. The paramedics arrived and performed CPR on these folks, but all these folks were as dead as can be. The paramedic then stood up and got back into the ambulance, LOL! I really wonder if Rockstar has brought any real changes to this. Some previews have said the game is more realistic than RDR and what not, so if its so realistic, these paramedics should properly do their job. Bring out stretchers from out of the ambulance and put folks on this. What are your expectations for this? So far previews haven't spoken about this at all, but i would be surprised if this remains totally unchanged. Same with the fire department, sometimes they arrive at a fire but just don't do anything, lol wtf.

As for the police's line of sight, that's what the new system is called, wasn't it? I wonder how that will work. Could it mean that if see someone and i randomly start punching him/her and a cop is nearby, but the cop is not looking towards us, that he won't notice this? Cause in IV you just can't do this. Just now i attacked a lady and a cop who had his back turned against us heard it right away, even though he was away from us from quite a distance. It would be really good if they implemented some kind of system that let's cops hear things from a realistic distance, so when i'd punch someone and the cop is on the other side of the street and not seeing us, he should not attack, cause he didn't hear this. This could work the same way for when using supressed weapons.

IMHO, I think your idea for paramedics would get old real quick.

Got any suggestions then?

Old how though? I haven't witnessed a situation like this in real life before, but i'd guess paramedics would put a person that died on the spot on a stretcher, into the ambulance. Whatever the case, it should change a bit, should look a bit more realistic don't you think?

I'm not sure how the line of sight will work before you get busted doing something, but I read that people will call the police or try to beat you down themselves. I don't think it's been mentioned if the police will still be able to see you if their backs are turned. Again, someone said there's still a circle you can escape if you get busted, but you can also hide from the cops now and if they don't find you they will eventually leave. They won't go directly to where you are now. They will also flash hand signs to each other to try to find you. That's what I read and heard from videos.

Well that's how it's done in real life so I don't see the problem.

I was thinking about this recently too and think it would be good for a full simulation for paramedics.

It would be nice to see them actually remove the bodies rather than them just fade away or disappear.

It would also be nice to see evidence of an incident simulated (e.g. police barriers for crime scene, workmen for destroyed areas, fire trucks dispatching to fires etc)

I am pretty sure elements of these will be incorporated into the game smile.gif

By old I mean that after the first x amount of times you see it in action it would be boring. Also I think it would cause frame rate drops if you are on a rampage! I'd like to see your idea if it was implemented for actions caused by NPC'S such as car crashes and random shootings!

Would be nice if you see a random ambulance with full sirens on heading towards hospital smile.gif FOLLOW IT AND DESTROY!

Hope this time the ambulances have a job. And not just drive randomsly around the city.

They do it for a reason...

The ambulance idea is not so good. They would have to put in a lot of work to make it work properly and it wouldn't really be as good as it does in your imagination, trust me. And to make them drive people in a hospital or cop taking prisoner to station.. not on this generation.

As for police, I certainly do hope that cop having his back turned when you do a crime means he doesn't see you. Of course if you hit someone or shoot, they will hear then turn around. But basically, when you are wanted, you can run away into an alley and even if you're still in the ''wanted circle'', they won't just go to that alley unles they've seen you go there. That's what line of sight is mostly about this time.

Also hand signals are just a few new fancy animations probably. And people using phones to call police was also mentioned in previews before IV was released along with cops seeing chasing you if they see you drive a car with a broken window, but it was removed in final version probably because they realized it's annoying as you'd get chased all the time when you steal a parked car. My guess is, if there's no cops around and you start shooting, someone may call the cops, but not every time.

To preform useless CPR on stone dead people.

I love it.

Even so it would be a nice touch. I'm all for small details and having the medics put people in the back of ambulances would be better then having the body just disappear. Apparently having body's just stay there is more taxing on the game so this would help.

I think this, it would probably require more work than meets the eye, simple idea but difficult to implement.

I mean as far as the paramedics and crime scenes and whatnot, like the idea though.

Yeah nice idea for sure man. To add to the crime scene...even have some cops getting out of their car and examining the crime scene? However, i do understand that this couldn't always happen with every single murder that happens, just not possible. But it remains one of the several things i'm very curious about.

Yeah i really hope it works like they say it works. If you can really hop into a alley and hide there and a cop hasn't seen you doing that, i would love that. It would make on foot chases very different from how that went in IV. Previews are mentioning a few things as if they are new, things like pedestrians calling to the police would be a new thing, if that truly is in the game now. Taking a picture is new too, but pedestrians coming at you and attacking you is nothing new. Today i had thrown a molotov at some lady and another ped decided to fight me for it, i mean...that's not new mister game-journalist, lol. But yeah....it would be good if the cops don't easily know where you are and ESPECIALLY if you use a knife or a supressed weapon, please let that work properly.

But that goes for many things in the game. I mean if we really get drunk drivers in the game, i'm gonna be laughing so goddamn hard when i see that for the first time, and a few times after it...but if my idea would get boring eventually, that would too. So i don't see the problem with that. However...it is quite impossible to expect it for every murder you commit, for every dead or injured pedestrian. So your idea might actually be better...murders or accidents caused by random pedestrians and then the paramedics showing up and properly doing their job. Whatever will be the case...i highly doubt Rockstar hasn't put some changes on this.

Love that idea man! I also would like a coroner, since the coroner's office is already confirmed. Like this:

Instead the amublance doing that sh*t when you or NPC's kill somebody, Why not have this happen as a random event.

It could happen multiple different ways.

I like the idea. Working in and with EMS, this happens unless it's a DOA, if it is, we call a hearse if its at the home, anfter calling the Coroner. If anywhere else, we "load n go". This consists of putting them in the bus, on the stretcher, and transport to the hospital. AFTER checking how many Reds, Yellows, and Greens there are and treating them first. A black is a DOA. Hope they add this for realism, but won't be butthurt if it isn't.
