realistic ammunition amounts that you hold

Just wanted to see if anyone would want this. im talking like you wouldn't have 10000 rounds of ammo on you. if this was implemented it should be 100% optional. i wouldn't use it all the time but it could be fun if i was roleplaying or trying to test myself a little more. for a pistol lets say you have a 20 round clip and you might hold at most say 4 clips on top of the one already in your pistol. that means you could only fire 100 bullets from the pistol and so on and so forth. backpacks could allow you to hold more ammunition. if rockstar ever did the zombie dlc this would be epic. on top of that it would make extended mags that much more useful so gun customization would be your best friend. i'm not a realism nazi either i just would want this for roleplaying and doing a kind of survival thing where you only have so many bullets and maybe one vehicle or something similar. I think it would be fun to roleplay in the countryside with a truck or jeep and a couple firearms and a knife and try to survive against animals or whatever else.

You want Michael to walk around with an ammunition back pack? Naah- even if it was optional, how would protags enter cars? Have a another animation for taking the pack off?

Not another bad and useless thread.

No. That really would suck. Cant you see that it would ruin the game, like all the other hundreds of stupid 'realism' suggestions.

If it's completely optional then yes. I like to sometimes challenge myself and it would be realistic. It would also be good if reloading would take longer.

Tracksuit Hitman

One must remember that whilst adding realistic features Rockstar must keep GTA V fun. Making every aspect super-realistic would make the game tasteless and Rockstar's reputation would see a bit of a downfall. Just remember GTA III and then look at GTA IV.

If anything we need to be able to carry more ammo than in IV.

This.

This a thousand times.

But I'm too lazy to even type it once.

So I'm quoting it.

This.

I feel the same way. In GTA SA you can have as much as you want. IV ruin it.

Paper Mario

Well.. it might be a good idea I think.

What else are weapon stores for? Ammunation? The word ammo is in it so it's obvious. Plus, we can find ammo from dead people with guns.

This way you can maintain a lot of ammo. Otherwise we would the challenge be if I had 100000 bullets for each weapon?

But like you said, it's better to make it optional.

Look at the screens of Franklin & Trevor using the minigun, there's no belt feed or backpacks full of ammo. Basically, with your 'option' you wouldn't even be able to use that weapon. Everytime someone has an idea like this, they say "it could be optional". By now, this hypothetical options list is 'War & Peace' size. It's just not feasible for these things to be optional, so as a developer you have to make the choice in/out? I think we know what the answer is.

Wow, some really harsh responses there. confused.gif

But I think the system is okay as it is. As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. smile.gif

twistedweather

wait till pc then you can create a minimum ammo mod

this would be ridiculous especially cuz it takes multiple bullets to fall a victim

this is a game not a simulator

IV did it fine. I limit ammo use in my own, if players want more realism they can set their own limits. It's not fair to impose that kind of level of realism for the over all gaming community. Personally, again, I do limit bullets but its my peragotive.

Fallout New Vegas hardcore mode added an ammo weight feature. It sucked.

And would suck even more on a GTA
