poncratias
Am I the only one who really found it annoying when you hit a lightpole with your car that the whole thing just felll down like it'S made of cardbox? that your car didn't really crash, just got a light hit and kept on driving? this became so much distracting, immersion-breaking and annoying to me, that i even tried to learn how to mod so i can change the lightpole to a solid, static object, which would really cause me to have a hard crash when hitting it. especially the way how they rolled around when they fell to the floor, like they would wheigh only 0,1 kg.... anybody else? did u have similar stuff that annoyed you? EDIT: okay as some pointed out, it would be the best to make them half-solid. that way the don't fall if you only slightly push them, but come down when you are driving fast. Don't you love it when you get off the road, hit a solid light pole and fly through your windscreen?
jamieleng
I guarantee that if they made them as strong as real lampposts, you'd be complaining about that. Moan, moan, moan, whine, whine, whine, complain, complain, complain, bitch, bitch, bitch...and on, and on and on it goes.......

Because if it wasn't intentional, they would've removed this feature from GTA VC onwards. Isn't it fun hitting those lamp posts and seeing them fall and roll with electric sparks all over the base? RedDragonsBOOM
It would be really annoying to simulate a full stop every time you accidentally hit a lightpost and send yourself flying through the windshield only to have to take damage run back to your car and potentially repeat the same thing two blocks later. poklane
You know what was more annoying. Bus stops can't be broken... Fix that, then fix the light poles.
Paper Mario
I think it is even more stupid that you crash when you hit a certain bush... Or fence, or busstop, or a construction sandbag... Why are these things solid?
Kiffster
It would be much more annoying if the light pole didn't fall over or if they were very strong. I crash into so many light poles.... So I'm happy they just fall over and don't make me crash...

Exactly DODI3OG, I like ploughing through stuff with my car. Why would I want my car to stop everytime I hit a lamppost? Most people have trouble enough keeping the car on the road, it would be sadistic making poles & posts immovable.
stee_vo
I liked how it was in GTA IV, nothing annoyed me more than driving around on the sidewalks and then suddenly hitting a solid object.

This and also the light poles if modified should just be a little stronger because I found it stupid in iv everytime I'd jump in a taxi the driver would nudge one so softly it'd fall over ha, as long as they are a bit stronger this time around would be great

GTAfan786
Does this even matter? It's only light poles ffs, i don't think anyone gave a sh*t if they hit it or not. If a solid object is annoying to you, avoid the damn thing.

ugotsmoked
I enjoyed the trees being unbreakable. Due to d-bags trying to run me down, just stand behind a tree and once they come to a dead stop, here comes the auto shotty.
I Luke
I wish everything was like lamp posts actually. Trees are the most annoying thing in IV. So no, I want them to keep it like it is which is that you can smash through them.
ugotsmoked
In real life cars can't knock trees over anyway.

ugotsmoked
In real life cars can't knock trees over anyway. But you can knock over lamp posts with ease can you? I have never tried but since they do not have deep seated roots running into the ground it must be much easier.
jamieleng
In real life cars can't knock trees over anyway. You're actually correct there. Depending on the thickness of the trunk & overall size of the tree, they are the worst thing to crash into in real life. I think it's due to the root system, which can be as big as the tree itself. This makes them virtually immovable. In real life, I'd you'd be better off crashing into a brick wall, than a big tree.

I never hit trees much in iv, reckon if I took a hummer going at 100mph I could tear one out in. .real life though.

Agreed, if you had a hummer or an apc and hit it at maybe 60 miles plus the best you could hope for would be to lay the tree down. At that point your car would be undrivable so you would still be eatin my bullets. Only in a videogame of course.
Murad96
I think they should just make the lamp posts only a little bit stronger, so you have to be at a higher speed to knock them over, or your car takes a bigger hit and gets slowed down more, but not to the point where you've stopped. RandomNoun
I'd hope that the vehicles are easy enough to handle now that the lamposts are more realistic. Tanks and armoured vehicles should flatten them, but cars should be seriously slowed down ...

XD I think of these lamp posts as "fun props" rather than scenery. When I was a kid, I like plowing those things. Even my younger relatives do. When I played GTA 4, I was astound how far the vehicles' damage system went together with the dynamic objects around. Seeing improved graphics on those sparks at the bases of those lampposts brought street rages together with Niko/Luis/Johnny in GTA 4. I really like seeing those sparks and how the lampposts look like when damaged.
