BlackNoise
It doesn't seem right to give sh*t to the press. Bribery. What so they'd write a good preview? That's not Rockstar style. It's not like they even need to do that they know GTA V is the best already. They don't suck up to the gaming press they don't even attend E3. I would really like for you to explain how you allegedly know the in and outs about R*'s PR strategy. Exactly. I love R* as a developer, but there must be some strategy(ulterior motive?) when you give gifts to the people who will talk about your game in the near future(previews) and eventually review your game around September 17th. It's not a big deal to me, but I do wish it was more businesslike and straightforward. Getting a chance to see the game and/or talk to R* should be the extent of those visits. Something like those USB drives seem small, but most of those journalists are huge fans just like us. Most of us would love to get something like that. Indeed. R* don't just give things without purpose. To be honest nobody does.

It's quite easy, my brothers, uncle, sisters, gardeners, parttime tennis coach's, pet parakeet works for Rockstar. With that lame joke aside, Rockstar have been known to hand out free gifts to the gaming press many times in the past notably with IV. Even fan websites like these have received 'special packages' containing highly lusted after memorabilia and they are not even reviewing the game. Rockstar are not expecting anything from them in return. They give because they like to. Even if Rockstar gave nothing they still would have given them shiny reviews. The press should be happy they were invited anyway. Rockstar don't totally need them to sell GTA and never will. Suck on Jose's apples.
universetwisters
I think if you order something from the Rockstar warehouse, they send you some free stickers with the Rockstar logo on it. That would be friggin awesome.
TRANEMing
Real, its a USB stick, given to the gaming press. Great Answer Thank you! Where can i get one? I want it!!!!! I think you have to get it in a GTA5 way Choose a target , make a plan , grab the USB and lost any heat... Then you can show your USB online and expect some five-o even G-men come and knock your door later...

I seriously doubt a USB stick will influence a writer's impressions on a game. In fact, wasn't it IGN that shared this photo? They've been the most critical of this game. These promo items are fairly common in the video game and wider entertainment industry. They are usually themed around a game or film. Writer's and reviewers are used to getting this sort of material, so I really don't think an item such as a USB stick is going to influence their thoughts on a game. A game speaks for itself. I'm not just talking about Rockstar here, but in general.
