Masher8559
As long as i can turn off the engine like in IV i'll be happy. Manual lights, i don't see why they would bother?
Machine Head
Those are brake lights. Nope they aren't. Brake lights are the bigger ones below. @r0eladn Well, is it night in the picture? How do you know those aren't break lights? Im not really a car person but id say those could easily be break lights. In IV brake lights were the bigger part (below the lit-up part). And it looks like the taillights are exactly the same... What if R* wanted to show us the manual lights feature? Why shouldn't the feature be in? Why should only the ability to turn on/off fog lights be in? Because there aren't enough buttons on a controller to do so, and it's also a completely pointless feature; just like the idea of indicator button mapping. 3xodus
It could imply that when you manually turn the headlights on, the corresponding taillights also turn on, unlike in IV. Seems logical as that is the way it is IRL.
TotesMagotes
Looks like the sun is going down in the pic. Could have just turned on automatically.
Gifbrah
I could do that with mods But I hope you can use direction signals, in GTA IV peds used them, but I cant? why? That would be unrealistic. Nobody in LA uses their turn signals.
nigelhere9901
This has been since GTA IV.
LeFox
Brake lights... not everything is the same in various GTAs..... Oh, and this thread is pointless..... Oh... and the hold "X" or "square" is for fog lights..... And if you slightly hold the brake trigger, then full hold the accelerator... it should have your brake lights on while driving... LennonNL
You could turn your lights on in the day in IV? This is no 'confirmation' what so ever... Also, like others have mentioned, it looks like its dusk anyway so the lights may be coming on!
ChronoStinger
there should be something like a definition for the word "confirmed" Is there something you do not understand here? Yeah i can even reply for him!...He seems to not understand how is this "confirmed"... If you come here and say that something's confirmed, that still doesn't mean it is Confirmed, unless you're either a R* employee, insider or one of the Housers brother themselves, which is not the case so...everything else is just either heavily hinted or just suspected/rumored to be in the game! Don't i really have to explain that to you son? Edited May 18, 2013 by ChronoStinger
Hilldog39
In GTA IV hold X on Xbox and there you go, you have manual lights (high beams to be exact) which then in-turn turns your back lights on too. Well would you look at that, nothing new here.
wwinterj
What the OP is saying is that in the picture the upper lights are on, no they are not the brake lights as those are underneath, and becuase it's daytime it means you can manually turn the lights on/off. Obviously this does not mean it's confirmed as it was not in previews and R* has not said it. Personally I wonder if it's not just the sun or some other reflection? Now I get it! Also I doubt this will be the case but who knows.

Nameless Foot Soldier
They had that in GTA IV. During the day you could turn them on and off. During night you could only change the high beams on and off.
Intstringeger
This feature could be in the game or not, but this pic proves nothing. The lights can be on for a number of reasons; it's dusk or dawn, or the car alarm just went off (in IV the tail lights would flash when the alarm is triggered), or the developers were tampering with the car model to take the screenshot... danny41294
I could do that with mods But I hope you can use direction signals, in GTA IV peds used them, but I cant? why? I think it's just probably down to the limited number of buttons to map them to. Obviously the left/right bumpers would be perfect but then where does the original functions that were mapped to those buttons go?
MrcTOtheJ
Well they could get rid of the high beams and just make it turn the lights on/off. They'd go automatically on at night still but we could tap X/Square and turn them off. Which I'd love. One of my favorite Street racing games of all time Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3, you could turn off your headlights while racing on the mountain passes, and it was fun doing blind runs like something out of Initial D, I'm simplily entertained it seems lol. So being able to go black out mode in the country side in the dark would be a nice yet simple addition. That said it's far from confirmed.
BlackLightning
Ever hear of brake lights? They're kind of a safety feature.
I SHADOWFOX I
Pretty sure brake lights can go anywhere a designer would like to place them as long as they're rear facing, especially in a video game.

Apparently YOU do not understand the definition of the word CONFIRMED!! God!! How f*ckin hard is this?! There is a big god damn difference between SPECULATION and CONFIRMATION!! Obviously the left/right bumpers would be perfect but then where does the original functions that were mapped to those buttons go? In IV they were used to access certain weapons, which I never knew about until someone here pointed it out. I'm pretty sure a lot of people still don't know about it Edit: You have to hold down another button (R1 I think) and then press the button for it to work. So just pressing it could be used for turn signals
