Jesus, take a look at this picture:

user posted image

It seems you can turn lights on/off manually now! Not like in IV, where you could only put on fog lights.

This might not be so news-worthy, but I think that is a nice feature.

Sorry if someone found it before! It's new to me.

You dont have to call me Jesus,

And what in that picture makes you think lights can be turned on off manually?

Those are brake lights.

Nope they aren't.

Brake lights are the bigger ones below.

there should be something like a definition for the word "confirmed"

Is there something you do not understand here?

Unless a magazine like GI says it or R* says it then it's not confirmed, sorry bud.

How do you know those aren't break lights? Im not really a car person but id say those could easily be break lights.

I'm pretty sure manual car lights were in IV as well. Just press H. Not sure what the button is on consoles though.

You hold down the X button on the 360 for that.

What the OP is saying is that in the picture the upper lights are on, no they are not the brake lights as those are underneath, and becuase it's daytime it means you can manually turn the lights on/off. Obviously this does not mean it's confirmed as it was not in previews and R* has not said it. Personally I wonder if it's not just the sun or some other reflection?

In IV the manual light feature was for high beams on and off.

In IV brake lights were the bigger part (below the lit-up part).

And it looks like the taillights are exactly the same...

What if R* wanted to show us the manual lights feature? Why shouldn't the feature be in?

Why should only the ability to turn on/off fog lights be in?

this has got to be one of the dumbest threads I've ever seen... ever

So you've never seen the Realistic Steak thread?

What makes my thread stupid? I've got a point.

Hold X or square to put on full beam.

Not all lights.

Yes but in daylight, you could turn them on or off. As soon as it went night you cycled between different beam strenths.

To be fair, that image could be taken during the late hours of the evening, or more than likely during the early hours of the morning, and hence why the rear lights would be on despite it being rather light out. I can't really recall if the same can be said for IV. Rockstar were more than likely actively working on time cycle at the time, and hence this perceived inaccuracy. Then again, in actuality, I see vehicles all of the time with their lights on during similar times of the day (which brought me to think of the suggestion of it being in the morning/evening), despite it being light/clear enough to see. So even if this were due to imperfect timing/flexibility of the lighting, it's not unrealistic in the least.

I say this, because I highly doubt the feature would be included. Not saying that it's impossible, but it would be another button/button combination needed for use, and with more likely possibilities like nitrous and flipping people off, I don't see this being included. If the above is true (what RDL posted), you can include that as another, and the main cut-throat reasoning as to why the lights are on.

it's a screenshot with only 1 purpose... showing of the car. lights are probably turned on intentionally to make it look better.. but that doesn't mean we can do that in game.. maybe you should look at some screens with cars casually driving around and see if any of them have their headlights on during the day. never payed attention to that

edit. scratch that. look at RDL's post. completely forgot about that tounge2.gif

sarcasm.gif Dude, this doesn't prove anything. It's probably just dusk and that's when the car's lighting system comes to life.

Read the replies bro.

EDIT: WAIT WHAT? You used the sarcasm emoticon? Therefore everything you said should be taken vice versa.
