kasparlaks
Jesus, take a look at this picture: It seems you can turn lights on/off manually now! Not like in IV, where you could only put on fog lights. This might not be so news-worthy, but I think that is a nice feature. Sorry if someone found it before! It's new to me.

Hazelnot
I'm pretty sure manual car lights were in IV as well. Just press H. Not sure what the button is on consoles though.

Catwalk
What the OP is saying is that in the picture the upper lights are on, no they are not the brake lights as those are underneath, and becuase it's daytime it means you can manually turn the lights on/off. Obviously this does not mean it's confirmed as it was not in previews and R* has not said it. Personally I wonder if it's not just the sun or some other reflection? How do you know those aren't break lights? Im not really a car person but id say those could easily be break lights. In IV brake lights were the bigger part (below the lit-up part). And it looks like the taillights are exactly the same... What if R* wanted to show us the manual lights feature? Why shouldn't the feature be in? Why should only the ability to turn on/off fog lights be in?

In IV the manual light feature was for high beams on and off. Yes but in daylight, you could turn them on or off. As soon as it went night you cycled between different beam strenths. gamesguru
To be fair, that image could be taken during the late hours of the evening, or more than likely during the early hours of the morning, and hence why the rear lights would be on despite it being rather light out. I can't really recall if the same can be said for IV. Rockstar were more than likely actively working on time cycle at the time, and hence this perceived inaccuracy. Then again, in actuality, I see vehicles all of the time with their lights on during similar times of the day (which brought me to think of the suggestion of it being in the morning/evening), despite it being light/clear enough to see. So even if this were due to imperfect timing/flexibility of the lighting, it's not unrealistic in the least. I say this, because I highly doubt the feature would be included. Not saying that it's impossible, but it would be another button/button combination needed for use, and with more likely possibilities like nitrous and flipping people off, I don't see this being included. If the above is true (what RDL posted), you can include that as another, and the main cut-throat reasoning as to why the lights are on. vince91
it's a screenshot with only 1 purpose... showing of the car. lights are probably turned on intentionally to make it look better.. but that doesn't mean we can do that in game.. maybe you should look at some screens with cars casually driving around and see if any of them have their headlights on during the day. never payed attention to that edit. scratch that. look at RDL's post. completely forgot about that Edited May 18, 2013 by vince91
