Majestic81
Multiplayer doesn't interest that much. the only MP game i play is IV, and usually its with players im already familiar with, not random people. honestly that's the only multiplayer game im willing to play. might try V MP when it comes out but im mostly a single player gamer. HaythamKenway
My problem with multiplayer is how forced it is nowadays and how it steals focus from singleplayer. You can make a six hour long, linear singleplayer campaign nowadays and get away with it thanks to including multiplayer and it's (theoretical) infinite replayability. But the catch is to make multiplayer truly original and addictive, which is hard. And even if the game has a fun multiplayer, you can have a trouble finding other people to play with a few months after release, because general multiplayer population always goes back to CoD/Battlefield/Halo. Singleplayer should be always the developer's main focus. You can never go wrong with a long campaign, full of memorable moments, great gameplay, well-written story and loads of stuff to do outside of the storyline (if it's a sandbox game). I can play that kind of game for many, many hours and not be bored of it, whether I'm just exploring the game's world, doing side-quests or replaying the main story. Multiplayer is always a gamble. Even if you have a fun, original idea for multiplayer, it might succeed (Assassin's Creed) or end up forgotten (Max Payne 3). But unoriginal multiplayer, made only because everyone else has it, will rarely be fun.
