HOW'S ANNIE?
I know some of you are probably going to deem this a useless topic, but I thought I might point this out as I only just realised... Franklin's ability to slow down time whilst in a car is in GTA IV. When you switch the cinematic view (pressing square/B) you get the option to slow down time by pressing the left joystick. It's practically Franklin's special ability but in cinematic mode and albiet the drive-by ability. Sorry again if this seems like a pointless topic, but I thought I might point it out in case people want to "preview" Franklin's ability before V. RedDagger
Oh sure, but like you said it's cinematic - which means it's hard to consistently use it as you would with Franklin, plus it changes camera view often. Still similar and fun though.
RandomNoun
I thought this when people were claiming that it was unrealistic. Personally I like the idea of having the slow-mo ability.
BeardedxMic
I thought this when people were claiming that it was unrealistic. Personally I like the idea of having the slow-mo ability. I just see it as Frank having a faster reaction time. It'd be unrealistic if he could also make the car fly. Fun, but unrealistic.

While I doubt Franklin will be able to change the direction of his car at normal speed, it will still be an advantage when trying to thread the car through the eye of a needle. Miss Darko
One reason I love Franklin's ability: I always enjoyed doing crashes in cars in slow-motion with IV's cinematic mode by holding circle at contact, although I didn't like the cinematic camera angles much, even if I 'locked' one in (and it still changes if the 'camera' comes into contact with anything) that's close to the normal gameplay camera angle. So with Franklin's ability, I can do the same thing but it'll be seamless, all from the normal perspective. That's going to be awesome. I'm personally looking forward to it more for just the cool cinematic quality of occasional bursts of slow-mo while driving rather than any practical use for it. gta5freemode4eva
The result in GTA 4 is Everything is slowed down Including yourself. I imagine in GTA 5 everything will slow down x2 and franklin gets slowed down by x1 so that we can still drive with accuracy but we'll still be faster (so the effect works well) than the other peds etc. Thats 1 way it could work. This, the cinematic view is just a slow motion.
CryptReaperDorian
Yeah, I've brought this up before. It's kind of fun to use every once in a while in GTA IV.

Yes, that's the only way I can see it working. It's not really the same as RDR & MP3's bullet time, because the only thing that remains at normal speed is the aiming, while character movement is still in slo-mo. Can anyone think of another driving game that has something similar (I don't really play dedicated driving/racing games).

I think this is what to expect. Except the x1 cause that does nothing It would have to be franklin x2 and traffic x4
Paves911
I think a MUCH better comparison would be the ability from an earlier rock star game. One of the midnight clubs, I believe midnight club 3, would let tuners and sports cars slow down time for a short period and gave you extra good handling. I imagine the ability will work similar to that

I never knew this ;_; Actually, for me on the PS3 and standard controls, it's for the cinematic view. However, from there, you do use the L3 button (left analog stick pushed inwards). Though you can slow down time in GTA4 whilst driving but it doesn't give you a good handling ......
JOSEPH X
I only found out about this last week. I'm making a video of Niko riding around LC on a Freeway bike but in cinematic view. I accidentally clicked the thumstick when I crashed, and on the subsequent reload slo-mo was still applied in cinematic view. After several reloads, I had to consult the internet to find out what was going on. Having experimented with it a bit, I've found it does have its uses. Even though it slows everything down, it does give you more time to make adjustments. So where you might lose it on a corner at full speed, in slo-mo you can actually bring it back under control.
