Zancudo
Then it would seem that the PC version was scrapped from that view, or I must have overlooked that feature.
Mokrie Dela
In IV you could have a close camera angle An extra camera like fallout I don't see the harm so long as we can switch to what one we like. I'd like a first person view too and a cockpit in car view all optional The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. G D
Don't think first person view would work in GTA. It's already in GTA 3 and VC for f*cks sake. God, people are retarded. What many people fail to realise in IV there's a (somewhat) FP view. you can change the normal camera, the shooting camera, and the driving camera. What the f*ck with the "dont think X would work in GTA" Bullsh*t i seen a million time since i came to this forum in late 2010? Well, to be honest sherlock... by your scientific worth logic GTA 3 isn't 'GTA' since it changed the view. Hurr Durr. Derp.

Because I can't recall any FPP in those games other than when aiming a machine gun/rocket launcher. Doesn't make much an FPP to me.
HudS
Ofc a game is CoD if you add a FPP , f*cking idiots..
Braindawg
The camera in Red Dead was perfect.
Zancudo
Yes, it was perfect, but that's not the point of the topic...
Lurk Morrison
As a fan of the camera views in Fallout 3 (and New Vegas): YES, YES and more YES. For the peeps not understanding, instead of just 3 perspectives like GTA provides, Fallout allows you to push/pull the camera to your liking. In my PS2 (and PS3), you can switch to first-person view by moving the right stick. (but you can't move though) I don't know about the PC version. It was replaced by the 'camera moving' system found in many third-person shooter games in GTA SA onwards.
Zancudo
Well, then the FPP was only available when standing, not moving. It would be nice now if they implement an FPP so you could move your character and all.
G D
to all the sloshes who can't read and think you are talking about First Person. I know what you mean OP and I do like a closer view to the shoulder because it makes the character have more "substance" to me at times, epically when on a tall building. With that being said, what you are asking for was indeed in GTA IV. I just hope they don't take it out in V like they did in RDR. I like having it to my choice at times. Nope, it wasn't in GTA IV. Only if you aim a gun, yes, but I mean like walking down the street without having a weapon out or aiming at something. Just like in Fallout 3. Yes, yes it was. You press the back button for Xbox and the select button for PlayStation. You could switch between 3 views. One of which is that really close view you are asking for. It just wasn't for aiming, it was for walking and stuff. Unfortunately, there are many idiots who bash IV and open up a topic about wishing to have something already in IV. Keep in mind this is not directed at the op, this is directed at the intelligent beings that did/still does the aforementioned things For example: how many people here (except Non biased fans/IV lovers) even knew about an 'early' weapon wheel? (PS3) tap L1+UP once, to get an Assault Rifle. Do it again for SMG. tap L1+DOWN, to get a Shotgun. tap L1+RIGHT, to get a Pistol. tap L1+LEFT, to get a Throwable weapon. .............. There are many things in Grand Theft Auto IV people doesn't and won't know about. And please, next time any of you guys open a topic, one word - Research. Motherf*cking research..... Thats enough internet for today.......
jamieleng
Ok, now you've made your first post clearer, I know what you're talking about. This game seems to be taking a few things from Max Payne 3 & in that game, you can switch the camera from left to right shoulder. Hopefully you'll be able to do this in a car, including a centred view as well. Being able to lock the camera at any distance would be a great addition too. MosquitoSmasher
I can only agree with this. This stuff was already available in Oblivion, Fallout and Skyrim and it gives players full control over the camera. The fact that you can pretty much put the camera anywhere and lock it is fabulous. I'm expecting that Rockstar goes with the camera views from IV again though. It better not be like RDR and MP3, cause that would seriously disappoint me a great great deal. But even though RDR and MP3 didn't have other camera views, it would make NO sense at all for GTA V. AuSsIeThUnDeR36
I didn't like the driving camera angles that were available in IV. It was either too low, too far or much too close. I have a better idea. There should be an option to set the camera angle in game so when you are driving/ on foot you push the right stick and hold it when you have the best view then double click R3 fast. Obviously one click R3 activates a side mission if you are in a service vehicle that's why I said double click fast. This way everybody will be happy. visionist
Pretty sure the throwable weapons command only appeared in EFLC however. I remember trying it in Vanilla and being disappointed Nades were unavailable.
