Zancudo
This game needs a camera view redesign. First of all, let us allow to change through different camera perspectives at any time during walk and in the car. This was completely absent in Red Dead Redemption (as of a horse ride instead of a car). Secondly, it'd massively satisfaying if you'd implement (an optional) camera view that lets a close-up on the character's right/left arm (the one like in Resident Evil 4, Skyrim or Fallout 3). Not only would it be a helpful perspective to use indoors, but it's also very nice to see your character from up close. It's nothing wrong with the default camera used in every Rockstar game to date, it has to be there, but an optional right/left arm close-up perspective view would bring some freshness and atmosphere to the game. Like this: I hope I don't ask for much... EDIT: Made "an optional" a little bit easier to see since people tend to miss that one I think. STUPID GAYZ. jamieleng
I don't understand what you're asking for. You can switch between many third person view distances & different camera views in vehicles. You can also click the Right Stick to zoom in when aiming with most weapons. There seems to be a much wider field of view according to the previews. aln456
first-person perspective???
ALeSsAnDrO
First person view won't happen. GTA isn't a FPS. Behind the shoulder camera is already present when needed the most: aiming.
Lil ski
Soooo......you are asking for a first person view option right? Don't beat around the bush, I know what you were asking for. . Anyways I would love a first person view OPTION (Keyword: Option, goddammit) but seeing how the controls are similar to max payne 3, I don't think it's possible.....now for the first person dash view in the car, THAT is needed badly!! SuperCrayon
As if gaming wasn't already littered with the sh*tty plague that is first person shooters.
lerche88
As if gaming wasn't already littered with the sh*tty plague that is first person shooters. If you had ever played Battlefield or Halo, you wouldn't have said that. Cod corrupts people. Not those.
aaronimpact
In GTA IV you could play around with the select button and push down on the R3 button to get different views. I did miss having that in RDR, but I thought the camera was close enough to John Marston.
I Luke
Having a first person view doesn't mean it's like cod lol.. Just gives us more variety which I'm all for.
YoungChrist
I only agree with your second point for indoors. Maybe it could automatically go to a shoulder view indoors, but then again how Rockstar developers their indoor spaces they're pretty big so maybe we might not need that. But Im positive that you could change comara perspectives at anytime. Dashboard camera is already in GTA IV too???? First person would take them a lot longer to implement for a feature that adds largely nothing to the game.
d3ex2
Didn't read. Save it for GTA VI. They ain't changing anything significant at this late stage of development. No new features will be added. The game was confirmed to be finished last year. They are just fixing bugs and finalising it now.

mulder84
But Im positive that you could change comara perspectives at anytime.Dashboard camera is already in GTA IV too???? That's more like a hood cam, where the view is in front of the windscreen, which it has always been and very jittery. And yes, what we wanna see is the dash cam, the point of view of the driver. JonRenemy
Everyone seems to miss the fact that you can change views in GTA IV. I personally like being very far away. As in the third option for both walking and in-car. I like to see lots of space around my character and car, for things like collision detection and to see if anyone's getting the jump on me. I would however love a bit of a first person view. I mean what the f*ck is wrong with having it as an OPTION?? People get so wound up. It'd be awesome to use it just as a way of wandering around the environment and seeing people face-to-face. I hate when games make a characters body disappear in first person mode. I like to look down and see the feet and arms. Yeah it wouldnt be the worst idea to have it as an option in GTA. I mean think about it, it might make even more people open to the idea of GTA if they don't already like it.
Don_Corleone
Don't think first person view would work in GTA.
MrSpooge
Wait for the PC Version and the FPS Mod. Didn't work too well for IV. Games better in 3rd Person but has a whole different perspective in FPS. Gives it a different feeling in a way when shooting or breaking into cars, would make it seem more realistic. Wouldn't mind giving it a good shot if made by Rockstar themselves, but I doubt it'll ever happen.. Maybe one day. But it'll be optional.
MosquitoSmasher
Fully agree with Fallout 3 and Skyrim camera. You can change the camera and just lock it there, that would be fantastic indeed. It's very odd that RDR didn't let you change the camera, but then...every button was used and so was that in MP3. But it would be a very very big mistake if the camera on foot is just like RDR, you need to have the option to change. But i'm sure this will be ok, not being able to change camera when driving cars is simply not possible, this has been a given for so many GTA's now. So if there's multiple camera views in-car, there will be for on-foot too. @JonRenemy Yes GTA IV had it, but the games that followed didn't. RDR didn't, La Noire didn't if i recall right and MP3 didn't either.

YoSoyTuMuerte
I'm all for having more camera options. Maybe a locked one like re4. Y'know? Where if you turn the camera your character will also turn, not just the view?
d3ex2
You haven't even seen the game so how do you know? Anyway it's too late. They ain't adding anything new at this point. RedDagger
...you can do these in GTA IV. Both of them. Press back on the xbox, and you change view, one of them being over the shoulder.
Nameless Foot Soldier
to all the sloshes who can't read and think you are talking about First Person. I know what you mean OP and I do like a closer view to the shoulder because it makes the character have more "substance" to me at times, epically when on a tall building. With that being said, what you are asking for was indeed in GTA IV. I just hope they don't take it out in V like they did in RDR. I like having it to my choice at times. Lock n' Stock
The standard camera is good enough for me, even the one that was in Red Dead Redemption. I don't like third-person views being too close or too far.

Sorry, but you're quite wrong in your statement. They still have time for pretty much a lot of changes.
Paper Mario
I hope there is just a view that your guy is in the middle of the screen. Not a tad to the left or right. That just annoyed me.. Options, we just need dem options!

Only if you aim a gun, yes, but I mean like walking down the street without having a weapon out or aiming at something. Just like in Fallout 3. You press the back button for Xbox and the select button for PlayStation. You could switch between 3 views. One of which is that really close view you are asking for. It just wasn't for aiming, it was for walking and stuff.
Zancudo
Yes, there were 3 different views to choose from. But wasn't one of them just a straight close up on main character's back like in GTA: San Andreas for example? I don't recall a perspective that was just like the aiming perspective (except you wouldn't have to aim). Perhaps it was only on the consoles? But all I know is that there is a view where it's real close to the players back while still being over Niko's right shoulder (couldn't switch shoulders in IV so it's always the right shoulder in IV).
