parking lot of towing services

I red about this feature in an San Andreas Preview before SA was actually released. So long time ago.

This was in a Printed Magazine and what they said was that Cars you left on the street when changing it or because of a mission or stuff, will appear on parking lots of Police Stations so you can get them back. I think they canceled it later on.

But this would be a cool idea. In IV I had Situation in Missions were I lost my rare cars because of the mission script or when getting cars for Brucie or Stevie or when the car did land on the roof after a Monster Stunt. There were loads of these situations. So as it will pretty much happen in V too and the fact that you can customize your car would actually make this a good idea to not loose your car.

You can leave it on the street and later in you can get it back at the towing service. Like they will save the last 10 cars you have used and you can get it back by enter it on the lot and pay a certain amount on the lot exit ( like the toll you pay on the bridges in IV)

I think this would be a great way to let you use you customized car without the fear that you will lose it somehow.

And there should be repair services were you can restore you destroyed cars.

In SA and IV I never used the tuned or rare cars cause I knew Ill lose it in a mission or it will get destroyed somehow. With such features I finally could have fun using itnin races and missions.

No. It was/is a feature in SA. Check the impound in Los Santos and your car will be there.

Really? I wish the cars we own just keep spawning like the ones you win as a reward for completing the driving school in San Fierro.

AFAIK only around certain areas or sidemissions. Like when you do driving school and leave the car in a certain radius of it, it might spawn in the lot I think.

But my point was that the cars should be saved even when leave it in the middle of desert on a road.

I Might go and check it out sometime smile.gif

Thank you so much, because I would've had to brush off a lot of cobwebbs too explain.

& to the OP, yes it was a great feature but many still to this day don't know it exist. I think it would be cool if V had a bunch of Yellow Box parking spaces like in IV, scattered randomly through out Los Santos. For example there should be a small parking space at Clubs, Airports, bars, beaches, downtown etc, that act as save points did in SA so if your car is in it, it will be there when you return. Maybe next time.

Actually we have this already. Certainly at least. The first Safehouse in IV gets destroyed but you still can use the Parking place.

Nontheless I want at least a restore feature for destroyed vehicles. SR had it and like I said, we finally need something what lets us using our customized cars in a mission or police chase without fearing that you probably will lose it again after you spent so much money for it...

I never knew about impound lots in SA! Why?

I wouldn't normally care about something like this because I like to just steal different cars every time, so I wouldn't mind if my car disappears, but in V this would be cool since I will probably spend a lot of time customizing cars etc. And in IV it was kinda annoying when unique cars disappeared, never to be seen again (like the Playboy X Patriot, or that yellow Comet or whatever. Although, in the pc version, it was actually very easy to edit the carcols file to recreate those cars...)

But yeah, impound lots or whatever would be cool in V, for your customized ridez icon14.gif

What would be better is if the car stays where it is if you leave it in the desert etc.

if you get busted/killed in a chase the police should take the car - that would make sense.

Like in L.A Noire, you would have a car symbol so you know where you left it, but when you got another car it would be on the current car you are driving

The fact that you can buy your own cars in the game suggest to me that a system of leaving the car ANYWHERE on the map it will stay there with maybe a car symbol on the map like L.A, but as its your own personal car the symbol won't just disappear if you get in a random car off the street.

it just makes sense to me, and I know there is going to be things in GTA5 I won't like but one of them will be if the car disappears and/or randomly drives itself back into my garage.

I posted this on another topic aswell. I would like to see a parking system so that you can lock your cars. If you lock them they'll stay in the same place. Combining this with your idea would be nice so that when you park your car but it's in a bad position, blocking traffic ect, it get's towed and you'll have to pay to get it back.

I often found that in GTA IV when you have to leave your car during a mission, after you've completed the mission you're car can be found nearby parked at the side of the road.

This. If you pay a small fee you can get your car back for instane. Like this.

Impossible in GTA. How do you want to save hundreds of cars you drove to stay at the same location you left it. At some point the save data would be huge and the game starts to make prproblemsike in Skyrim.

In skyrim , everything you throw away in cities and houses will.stay were you left it most of the time. Especially in you own house. This causes long loading times and crashes and later in you will get a broken save file

Really like that idea! would love it if you have to pay to get them back again or there was a way for you to break in and nick them back.

I was talking about YOUR cars, The cars you buy from store.

They are your cars so if i was to buy a car from a car shop that cost me $200,000 say. you think I would be happy to drive down the road get out the car run around the corner come back and the car is gone ?.

A random stolen car that you drive because you want to get from A-B shouldn't stay where you leave it, but your cars should.

Possible if they limit number of cars that game will save. Last 5 or 10 for example would be ok.

either way, I think tow service would be more realistic. In real life if you leave your car on a place which you arent allowed to it will get towed.

Best is to combine the tow service thing with the already mentioned parkking places all over the map even on points were you dont have a safe point.

SR had an easy solution. every car you parked in you garage was there forever until you decided to delete it. so like when u destroyed it, you were able to get it back by restoring it at your garage. For GTA5 a repair service where you can go to would be perfect. like it opens a menu and all of you destroyed cars will be shown and you can restore/repair them to get them back

I think the impound lot from SA is a good start, although many people (myself included) didn't realize it was there until I was nearly finished with the game (not storyline, but putting it down for good). The difference in this generation is that one of our protaganists is a repo man, so we will be taught early and often.where this lot is and how to use it. Mix in some saved parking (possibly pay-to-park) across the map, plus some garages at safehouses, plus the option of buying a garage as a property and I think we're in good shape. I would like our purchased cars to respawn at a designated safehouse with any modifications we might have set up as well. One thing is for sure: there are always more cars I want to save/tune than places to save them.

Damn thats cool. I never knew that was a feature in SA. I think it be a great addition to V, I feel like it's more reasonable than just having your car up and disappear/

I think all the cars you own will always be available at your garage much like Sleeping Dogs.

BTW never knew about impound lots in SA wow.gif Its been 8 years and some people like myself still dont know everything about it.

If it is impossible, Then why does it already happen?

My game only saves my most recent car, I can drive about for hours and go back and find my car where I left it, Most time It's the exploded shell of the car that lingers.
