PhatteeButtz
I'm going to prolong the game for as long as I can. I'll do missions here and there, but I plan to do mostly tons of free roaming, achievements, and multiplayer to delay finishing the game for as long as possible. This means I'll also be avoiding forums for a while starting around September 17 to stay spoiler-free.
The.Driver
I will go very slow, as I have with the past GTA's. I will probably try to max out their stats and build up cash. Mix in some multiplayer, all the while never visiting this site in order to keep from catching spoilers.
Johan
I hate to be that guy but if there is a trophy/achievement to beat the game in under 30 hours again or something like that.. I will literally make myself do nonestop missions until the last second like in IV. If not then I'll literally complete each mission and then move over to the side missions once they unlock and collect hidden stuff.

hfojwfodijosijofidj
YES. I want to drag out this game as much as possible, I've been stalking GTA V ever since I saw that little teaser in the manual for Episodes From Liberty City "Liberty City It's Over"... I will most likely play some missions to get introduced to it, then just free roam and have fun, then I'll do all the prepping for the first heist, then I'll complete the heist and probably start multiplayer from there. I don't want to wait for this game for all these years and then just finish the game in a week. I dragged Red Dead out for at least 5 months, I loved that game so much, the ending was amazing, I plan to do the same with Grand Theft Auto V. Travís.
I'm not going to take my time, ill want to play it so much that ill finish it in a week or so, but the replay value will most likely be excellent.
Bonfy
Each time I play Red Dead Redemption I foce myself to do just one storyline mission per ingame day. I hope I'll be able to do the same with GtaV, altho I'm not sure. On my first playtrhough I usually tend to get involved in the story and I always want to know what happens next, expecially when stuff gets serious. At that point I tend to burst through it, but I later realize that I don't enjoy it as much as when I take it slowly.
BlackNoise
I'll play a few hours a day and that usually takes me about a week depending on how long the game is. I would never want a game to take much longer than that.
Freezer89
Since the replayability will be much higher than in previous games (because of the three protagonists and different perspectives in missions of course) I think I will play through the storyline rather quickly. Just to avoid more spoilers - especially if I wait for the PC version. And then after more freeroaming and multiplayer I will restart again from other perspectives. Of course it depends on if the story is interesting enough to replay it again.
JuventusFC
I never do just story line until I've beaten it usually two times already. There'll be way to much to do to just do story line. Exploring will be great, especially driving through wilderness in a Patriot (Hummer H2) running over wildlife.
rjmthe2nd
I'm gonna take my time. But when the story is so awesome I can't stop playing it! Just like Red Dead Redemption, when it got to the parts of MEXICO The game was just starting to heat up !
vivalavendredi
As the map is open from the start this time: yes. In IV I was curious for the second "island" so I tried to play the story as far as it opens. No we can explore most of the map from start so I will take my time to play story, waste around, explore and won't rush through the story-episodes. Of course if a story-part is really interesting I will play till I am satisfied.
Lukijs
I completed RDR in about a month with 83h gameplay atm of completition ,so I think GTA V will take muuuch longer.

visionist
I'm definitely going to ration it, like I've done with all other GTA games. They're kinda like marathons for me, I spent four months on IV alone so V will probably be much longer. WOW 4 months? Dude that must have been painful yet awesome. LOL I spent 8 months completing RDR Loved it. Will try to break that record with V.

I think I did the GTA IV story line in 2 or 3 weeks the first time when it was released, however I'm still playing IV (+ episodes) every now and then but mainly just free roaming. sddales
For the first time, I'm not going to marathon through the game. My problem has always been that the next island has seemed so promising, so I power through to try to unlock it. Now that the entire world is open from the start, I might as well just relax and play through at the most moderate pace ever.
zainzombie
Im amazed to read that some people take months to complete a game . I dont rush through games by any means but a month to complete storyline is just........way too long. I finish most of the linear games in 5-7 days and 10-15 days for openworld games at max. I take my sweet time, explore everything but sp story is always so tempting that I cant just freeroam for long until I havent completed the story. I keep thinking about it until I have completed it, then I explore and play MP. Maybe its just me, but If/when I try to force myself to limit the amount of story missions I do, I just slowly lose interest. So I have learned that I should just play normally at a normal pace. Another reason why I dont freeroam until atleast I am 40% into the story is because of all the skills, minigames, sidequests are introduced or unlocked only then, but once I am 40% into the story... there is no way I am not completing it first. I believe GTA V will take about 15 days for me to finish if I play 3-4 hours everyday.

Took me 3 months to get to 100% completion in IV. I'll likely as not have other stuff to do (eating working, living etc), so depending on length, it'll take me about the same time. They said it will have the length of RDR. So about 60 missions. Which makes sense as they have way more work to design all missions time as you can play most of the missions in 3 different ways/characters and so on No, they didn't. Right let's get started, firstly there's currently no information about the length of GTA V's story and even if there was it's highly unlikely that it'd be anything more insightful then perhaps "it's long" as it's common knowledge that Rockstar don't tend to go into much if any detail at all about their new games' storylines. Now you also say that they'd have to spend a lot longer designing the missions, I doubt the factual accuracy of this statement as it's a well known fact that you'll be able to stick to just one character throughout the entire story (barring missions where you'll have to play as just one character on his own of course) therefore although they might have more interesting parts of certain missions locked for certain characters it's highly unlikely that it'll have taken any longer to design then a normal GTA mission. Thirdly, it's highly likely that they've been developing the game for what's bordering on six years. Time shouldn't and clearly hasn't been a factor in GTA V's creation and I highly doubt that even if they'd have had to design and specialise three different experiences for the player it wouldn't be a factor that holds them back from increasing the amount of missions in the new game. Lastly Red Dead Redemption's storyline was was made in a very specific way so as to make sure the player truly got to feel John Marston's plight, without the story dragging on to unbearable lengths where you start to forget the very reason why you ever bothered with it in the first place. RDR for that reason had to take a very mid ground approach to both mission duration and mission quantity, for those reasons it's easy to see why Rockstar went then way they did in that game and since none of GTA V's lead characters are suffering from such a sense of urgency it's not too likely that we'll see the game be as short as Redemption was. I'd like to suggest that perhaps before blindly posting information that's incorrect you should bother to do some research on the matter.

Secura
Dont act like a smart guy... cause you aint one... http://www.examiner.com/article/new-gta-5-...etails-revealed Could you please confirm the validity of said article, otherwise my friend you're just puffing a load of old smoke. On second thoughts, there's no need for such conformation: Yesterday, I published on GTAV.net that GTAV's storyline missions will take "25 hours to complete" in this article. This piece of information was provided by a member on the forum who had translated an Italian preview. It seems the info was lost in translation. The 25 hour figure was put together by the Italian site - and is not a figure Rockstar gave. This piece of info caused a lot of discussion yesterday in this thread, which I have since edited at the top: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=532774 I have now fact checked with someone much closer to the project to make sure the most accurate information is put out there, and updated the GTAV.net article. Here is the revised point: The game is roughly the length of Red Dead Redemption in the time it takes to fully complete. For those who didn't play Red Dead, it was packed full of a lot of extra content, separate from the main storyline. These included things like the Stranger Missions, side activities, and the 50 unique world events (dynamic missions). GTAV has similar versions of this content in its world, specifically with the unique world events and "random character encounters". So to reiterate, it does not take 25 hours specifically to complete. As members have mentioned in the aforementioned thread to those who were concerned, open world games can take differing times to complete between different players. In a world like GTAV, where there is so much more to do and explore, I suspect it'll take even longer than games like GTAIV where there wasn't many other interesting things to do or to mess about with in free mode. Still, not sure why some people complained about the 25 hour speculated number. This is a lot more than most AAA titles out there today. But anyway, I hope this provided a bit more clarity, and I promise to fact check any new information that come via translated previews from here on out. Everything else in that article is entirely accurate. Once again, research first and post later.
