The_Golden_Derp
I've seen people completely bust through IV in a couple of hours, but my question is.... Will you go as fast as you can, or relax and take your time? I'm going to do a mission or two, then explore and try out the new things unlocked after the tutorials.... I will attempt to ration the missions to a week if i can as I mix it with a fair amount of free roaming. I will hate if I rush through it and know everything but miss the small stuff, then later when i want to be more thorough and know everything that happens. Just like watching a movie but skipping the boring parts. SO will you relax or rush your GTA-V experience? You only get one in your life.
Monty Mantis
I'm definitely going to ration it, like I've done with all other GTA games. They're kinda like marathons for me, I spent four months on IV alone so V will probably be much longer.

Triple Vacuum Seal
Generally takes about a month. I avoid tearing through stories as quick as I can knowing these titles take forever to come out. I generally beat the game a second time to gather rare vehicles and such. V may will rival SA in terms of replay value. "shut up, sit down, relax"
GTA 360
I'm going to play at a steady rate, not slow though. I'm going to play without skiping any cutscenes as that's just pointless but I'm not so bothered about rationing the game as you can always play through again. and again, and again. mulder84
Am I the only one who tries to do this, but halfway through rushes through all the missions? I love a good story, novels or otherwise, and I tend to blow through it impatiently, wanting to know what happens next or in the end. So I'm in a constant dilemma whether to savor it or see it to the end asap. I'll normally go through the second play much more slowly though. Happyness
Hmm... IV took me a week to finish it, I might make V take me two months or so.

That's how I play my games as well, IV took me a very long time, it was over 6 months, 50 hours total gameplay haha, even my favourite game Uncharted took me many months to finish, I don't game an awful lot, It takes a lot of effort for me to play through campaigns, I enjoy them, but I need to be in the right mood. RandomNoun
I always take this approach. But towards the end, when things start to point towards the climax, I can't help but keep doing the story. This happened in RDR. I try to pace it out at that point, do other things. But it's like, LOL NOPE.
v17
I always say I'll take my time and try to but end up rushing I hope this time i'll be able to take my time. I want this to last as long as possible...

I think we may say different things, but this is the only true answer XD Same here. I hope to stretch it out over months, mixing the storyline with increasing replay and exploration. And with the map fully unlocked, I won't feel like I have to plow through missions just to get to the next island. But I expect that Rockstar will put in other incentives or perks that force us to make story progress in order to get the fun toys, like fighter planes or property. So those will challenge my willpower.
Vin89
Excellent question. I'm gonna ration it carefully. Though I don't have that much time on my hands for GTA like in the past I will still try to stretch it out. It will be hard but worth it I think. Instead of playing too much of he story I will try my best in Multiplayer and just explore the vast world R* created for me. Some goal is also to collect as much money as possible and buy expensive stuff early in the game.

ScottishHeist123
Like I did with GTA IV (three weeks) and Red Dead (one month), I will be taking my time finishing the story to enjoy the other features of the open world and on multiplayer. When you slowly work through the story you really appreciate the game more. In a way I feel kinda sorry for those that rush trying to complete the story as quickly as possible. DWTDevil
I have to be honest, the campaign is one of the things I most look forward to in GTA games. It always has that nice balance between humour and seriousness, it's a joy to play. People ask you 'Well, why don't you just read a book for a good story?'. I reply, 'My friend, this is a much better way to follow a story. You're a part of it. You get to experience the actions and events of the character in question'. It needs to be savoured. Like said, I feel sorry for those who rush through the story and skip cutscenes just to race towards the 100% achievement or whatever it may be. You get much more of a sense of achievement completing it in a period of time that is tolerable. That means a lot more to me than getting the 100% achievement within a couple of weeks. Not that I'm favouring any other game over GTA V, there are plenty of other games coming out in Autumn to keep me occupied... even though I'll be itching to come on GTA V most of the time. With that in mind, I'll certainly be rationing the story. 25-30 hours or whatever it is, it's still going to be hard to complete it in a week playing it non-stop. If you play for 30 hours straight and complete it in less than two days, then I think you need a new therapist.

Remizov
Wonder if V will have something similar to the Vice City were you needed a number of properties completed to unlock the final few missions. Maybe even have a few "breaks" in the story like this. That would probably "force" you go explore and make money outside of the main missions. Durden
I don't even have a specific plan on how I'm going to buy GTAV, for god sake! I'm certainly in no position to determine just how quickly I will play through the storyline. Although ideally, I'd like to have 'free-roam breaks' every few missions or so. I will be in a constant struggle to decide whether I want to explore LS, or continue working my way to riches via heists and epic set pieces/storyline development. The hardest part will be avoiding Multiplayer. I don't want to even touch MP until I finish the game. This is due to possible storyline spoilers via fa**ots with their mics, and also because the MP may spoil locations/weapons/vehicles etc that I have not yet experienced in the SP. Besides, I generally find it rather difficult to go back to a game's SP portion once I've divulged the multiplayer aspect.

wwinterj
I'll be taking my time and enjoying the game. I'll start with missions but chances are I'll get distracted and do some side activities, explore and whatever. Online comes last.
MasterO
I'll pretty much isolate myself from the internet until I've played through the game twice at a leisurely pace. It'll probably be 5 parts mayhem to 2 parts side missions and 1 part main missions.
Capricornus
I am definitely going to be messing around and enjoying free roam way too much to be rushing through the story.
