Shooting not based on MP3's mechanics?

They already said they were improving the shooting mechanics. No need to change a already perfect formula.

Thats good, I ddin't want the shooting to be like MP3

Agreed. MP3 shooting mechanics were spectacular and all, but this is Grand Theft Auto. I'd rather not have that engine... I seriously wouldn't mind, but I'd rather not have it.

I don't understand what you mean? Max Payne 3 is built on the Rage engine. Red Dead Redemption is built on the Rage engine. Grand Theft Auto IV was built on the Rage engine. So can you tell me what engine you're talking about?

He's talking about the bullet telemetry system. Where every bullet has a model. And every action the player does while shooting and the way the gun goes off changes everything. It changes alot of things. Max Payne is a more realistic fiction. But this is because the story requires it to make more grit. Instead of banging hookers and bowling and such.

I agree but they need to make the weapons give a bit more kick when shooting

I'm sure it's a mix between mp3 and rdr

The question was a bit unspecific, maybe what the MOD was trying to say is the duel wielding from MP3 isn't in GTAV.

If it's not the same ... it will be better. I mean they won't just downgrade the mechanics!

I edited my first post here to show that it is indeed very much MP3 like.

I really like the sound of more visceral shooting!

That doesn't make much sense to me, even with that explanation. How is that a bad thing? I don't think people notice just how much GTA focuses on shootouts. You can shoot on foot, while driving cars or boats -- I wouldn't be surprised to see a mission where you have a shootout while skydiving. So how is more realistic physics and mechanics for something you do just as much if not MORE than driving a bad thing? For all the realism GTA goes for creating this expansive world with so much detail, the shooting mechanics have always felt hokey to me.

I think it would be for the best if they basically just lifted MP3's entire system over to GTAV bullet cams, shootdodging and dual-weilding included. I mean really why can't those things work in GTA? I'd personally love it if Michael could earn shootdodging as he levels up his bullet time stat. I mean imagine the sensation of a heist going to sh*t only to end up taking a last stand against the cops. So as you haul ass out of the bank as Trevor you hit RAGE mode dealing double damage to give Michael a little more time to secure the cash. Then once Trevor makes it to the car, you switch to Michael shootdodging and sliding across the hood of the car; then as Michael is in the car, you switch to Franklin. You hit the gas and go into speed-time swerving through a SWAT roadblock and making the getaway.

Does that sound bad to you?

I would be really fine with RDR mechanics too, but really.....is my memory failing me miserably or are the mechanics of RDR and MP3 quite similar? You press and hold left trigger to put th camera more closer behind the character,you switch should sides with d-pad and the shooting is pretty much the same.....

@The New Blue Guy

That actually sounds damn awesome. It's confirmed that Michael will get bullet time but shootdodge as a bonus with it could f*cking complete it! Those are things the game can definitely have if you ask me. As soon as you trigger that skill, the controls change for the time being, that could most definitely work.

By the way, yet another source that says Rockstar clearly took a good look at Max Payne 3 for the movement. Bullet time, rolling and something they call 'Snoekduiken' which translated means....Pike Diving.........
