Grand Theft Savage
Franklin Story - Boyz In The Hood Part I Sorry for length. It's mainly dialogue this time... Here's part 2. It was rushed. ---------------------------------------------- South Los Santos – July 28th, 2013 2:07 pm Franklin was in his basement, browsing for a place to hide the duffle bag given to him by Michael. Inside the bag were parts for the assault rifles, such as loaded mags and suppressors that they were going to use in a jewelry store heist later that day. He took down the painting of his grandmother that hung on the wall, revealing the combination safe behind it. Tina called to Franklin from upstairs. Tina: “Franklin, Lamar is here to see you.” Franklin: “Tell him to wait.” Tina: “What are you doing downstairs?” Franklin: “Nothin'.” Franklin shoved the bag into the safe, locked it, and hung the painting back over it as quickly as possible. He was glad that Tina didn’t suspect him of doing anything. If he got caught stashing guns in their house, the relationship would be over. Yesterday, Franklin had gotten into a minor spat with Lamar. He was beginning to think that Lamar couldn’t be trusted. He knew that Lamar felt the same way about him, and kept calling him a snitch. He decided that they should make up and put all of the bullsh*t behind them. They were best friends, after all. Once upstairs, Franklin put on his Los Santos Kings shirt and wore a gray and green designed hoodie over it. He stepped out to into his yard and saw Lamar getting off of his phone quickly as they spotted each other. Franklin looked at Lamar rather than greet him. Lamar: “Yo.” Franklin: “What’s good?” Lamar: “We gotta talk. Walk with me to my place.” Franklin: “Okay… Everything cool?” Lamar: “Yeah. You got anything planned later? We gettin’ ready to smoke some Ballas tonight and we need a good driver. Are you available?” Franklin: “Nah, man. I’m about to make some serious money tonight. Why don’t you leave all of that gang sh*t alone and work with me so we can make some real money? All that other sh*t is waste of time. The hood ain’t worth it.” Lamar: “You soundin’ more and more like a snee-eye-itch every day.” Franklin paused as Lamar kept walking. Franklin: “I sound like somebody tryin’ to make some paper and not get killed.” Lamar: “Nigga, you crazy. Robbing banks and sh*t won’t get you killed? That’s just as dangerous.” Franklin: “Only if you ain’t prepared.” Lamar: “Whatever you say, homie. If you don’t roll with us, that’s fine. But I wanted to talk to you about something else. I need your help with something.” Franklin: “Like what?” Lamar: “Ellis. I haven’t seen him since yesterday. I’ve been calling him and he won’t answer. Nobody’s seen him, I don’t know what happened to that nigga.” Franklin didn’t know what to say. The day before, Franklin got into a fight with Ellis and even threatened to kill him if he ever saw him again. He then wondered if Lamar blamed him for it. He had nothing to do with Ellis going missing, but it would have been understandable if Lamar thought he did. Franklin: “You ain’t blaming me for that, are you?” Lamar: “Just tell me. You ain’t gotta lie, Frank. Did you kill him? Or did you dime on him like a snitch?” Franklin: “Last night I was with Michael and his friend, Trevor. I ain’t do sh*t to Ellis. And I ain’t no f*cking snitch. You know I ain’t no snitch.” Lamar: “Yeah, yeah… Anyway, the problem is that Ellis was my partner. Me and Ellis were the salesmen of these streets, man. Without him, progress is cut in half. You gotta help me sell my weight, just for one day. We just need to make enough money to pay my connections back, and enough to stuff our pockets with.” Franklin: “I already told you, I ain’t gettin’ involved with that bullsh*t. Slingin’ dope ain’t cool.” Lamar: “So that’s how it is? You ain’t got my back? I thought we was homies? After everything I’ve done for you?” Franklin sighed. He saw that Lamar was really in need of help. He promised himself that he would never sell drugs again, now that he had better ways to earn money, but Lamar couldn’t contact his partner and would probably get killed if he didn’t pay his connection back for their stuff. And in addition to that, Lamar was like his brother. No matter what, he would have his back. Franklin: “Alright… If you really need my help, I got you.” Lamar dapped Franklin. He was relieved to hear Franklin say that. The two of them grew up stealing cars and selling drugs, so Lamar figured it would be just like old times. Franklin didn’t care much. He was helping Lamar. Besides, he didn’t mind making extra money. When they reached Lamar’s house, the two went straight into his bedroom to package the goods they would be selling. His room was like a farm of weed plants. He no longer had a bed or a television, only 2 desks; one for cooking up drugs, the other for both weighing and bagging it. He also had solar powered lights for weed production, which was a method Franklin had used back when he sold drugs as well. Franklin knew Lamar was a drug dealer, but he though he only sold marijuana and cocaine. To his surprise, he found that Lamar was also distributing LSD Acid, Crystal Meth, and some prescription pills. Franklin: “What the f*ck? This is what you’ve been selling the whole time?” Lamar: “I grow the weed and I make some coke. Everything else you see here was Ellis’ stuff. Like I said, we the salesmen of these streets.” Franklin: “Yeah, whatever.” Lamar handed Franklin a box of small plastic baggies so they could begin the packaging. Breaking off the buds and leaves of the weed plants gave Franklin a memory jog from when he was a dealer. He and Lamar would spend their time bagging up the weed and selling it at school the next day. When they felt that they had enough money, the two would get together and smoke the rest of it. Franklin didn’t miss these things. He was happy to get away from it. But here he was again, loading bag after bag with marijuana or crack rocks. Lamar was filling up bags with meth crystals and weighing them. Every once in a while, he would glance at Franklin, giving an untrusting look. It was beginning to make Franklin uncomfortable. The two had been packaging for nearly an hour. The entire packaging process was silent. They didn’t say anything to each other until it was done. Lamar: “Alright, man, let’s hit the block!” The two of them stepped out of Lamar’s house with backpacks filled with drugs. They were going to set up shop at the local liquor store. It was the best spot to get quick customers. Franklin felt nervous about selling drugs again. He hated when negotiations went wrong, and he left his gun at home. They stashed their backpacks behind the store. This way, they wouldn’t be suspected of holding if a cop drove by. The two of them stood in front of the store as various people walked by. A tall white man eventually stopped at them asking for a fix. Their first customer. Man: “Trying to score some rock for a party later. Got any? I need an 8-ball.” Lamar: “We got you, homie.” Franklin walked to the back of the store to the backpacks. He browsed it carefully and picked out a bag of cocaine. 3.5 grams of crack rocks. Franklin wondered how people could actually smoke this. He walked back to the man and gave him the bag. In return, he gave up somewhere around $170. Franklin thought it was pathetic. Selling drugs wasn’t enough for him. The money was chump change. The next customer was a rough looking man. He was bald and crazy looking, with torn jeans and a white “I ♥ Liberty City” shirt. The man approached Lamar. Man: “Got any crystal on you, boy’o? I need an ounce.” Lamar: “We got everything you need, home boy. Frank, grab the stuff.” Franklin once again went to the back of the store. He searched for the meth in Lamar’s bag. He took out an ounce. Lamar had packaged it pretty well. Franklin thought Lamar would make a good snatcher during a heist, and also a good scout. It’s a shame he used his talent for petty drug dealing. For the meth, the man gave up over $1,500 in cash. Man: “We ain’t got ice like this back in Dukes! Thanks. I might check you guys more often.” This continued for almost the remainder of the day. Franklin and Lamar had turned their phones off to remain undisturbed while they were dealing. The two were at the liquor store selling the drugs for hours. Even after the store’s closing time, they were still outside of the locked down store making money. It seemed like forever until they were fresh out of product. The two of them had made very good progress. Lamar: “See, this is gangsta sh*t. This is what we should be doing every day, know what I’m sayin’? Gettin’ money on the block.” Franklin: “I ain’t never doin’ this again. Make sure you pay the connection back, ‘cause I ain’t helping you second time.” Franklin turned his iFruit on. He saw that he had 3 missed calls and 2 messages, all from Michael. Sh*t. He forgot that he was supposed to bring the gun parts for the heist. He really let them down, since this was pretty much their only chance to rob the place. Lamar noticed that Franklin had a worried look on his face. Lamar: “You okay? You look like you’re about sh*t yourself.” Franklin said nothing and walked off. He had to head over to Michael’s and explain the situation as soon as possible. Hopefully he would understand. ---------------------------------------------- Discussion If Franklin had to choose between a large sum of money and his best friend, Lamar, which do you think he would choose? Would he stay true to his friend or would he give it all up for the money?

Revolution-XW
Good read OP it's gonna be nice to comeback here when the game comes out to and see if any of those things you mentioned compares with the actual back-story of Frank This. but the dialogues were too long to be real story, maybe some parts though. Also, I'd love to be able to drug deal at the blocks in different spots and have random peds buy them off you. Splendid story so far OP! EDIT: It's hillarious how I'm smelling weed coming from my building.

36Chambers
Knowing Rockstar and how they make their characters, Lamar will probably get killed and Franklin, despite their iffy friendship, will try to seek revenge.
MrcTOtheJ
That was pretty good enjoyed reading it. Glad to see it'll continue as well, kind of remind's me of Franklin's version of GTA-King's topic based arround Micheal, though he was called Albert De Silva. (This was back before we knew names, so he used the one from the casting call was good none the less)
Special Members
If they make references to Boyz In The Hood they need to make references to Menace 2 Socierty. Another awesome hood movie from the early 90s, and a personal favorite of mine. It was a huge inspiration for San Andreas, and the actors who voiced Ryder, Big Smoke, Tenpenny and Kendl all appear in it.

Many people on here have been comparing Lamar's character to O'dog from Menace 2 Society. I can see the resemblance in character.
