We'd know Liberty City from our heads

Kill Frenzy!

Hello there!

We'd know the map of IV's Liberty City from the head, we don't even need to touch on the start button to see the map and where we have to go. I've finished the storyline in less then three days, in a week I knew the map already from my head.

In San Andreas it took a bit longer, I haven't played San Andreas about four-five years already but I am sure if I play the game again right know I still know the map from my head.

But R* confirmed almost a year ago that the map of V is going to be 5 x Red dead Redemption, 3.5 land and 1.5 sea. The map is the biggest map R* ever created so far.

My question is, do you believe that you will learn the map in the end and know the map from your heads? The map is going to be very big, imagine it will take two weeks to learn the map. smile.gif

Sorry for my bad English.

It will take time, but it will be done. And that will be a sad day when I realize there is nothing new to explore and I have seen everything. Hopefully it will be a long time away.

I know Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas in the back of my head. Not too much IV since I didn't play it as much. We should all know the map well if you play it. It will take time to learn it. It just depends in how much you play it.

The real question here is...is the size of LS bigger than LA Noire or MCLA? Thats when we can answer your question

Alderney was the last island that i learned from heart mainly because it was so neglected in multiplayer

For those of you who have not played SA in any meaningful way since IV or before:

I felt I knew the map like the back of my hand, and for the most part, I do, but even in the first act (los santos) I am already finding stuff I never saw before.

It's weird - little things, signs and objects around that must have blended in during the first years of playing it (I played it up until IV came out pretty often on MTA).

Go load up SA and start playing some mission - how much new things do you see? I keep seeing new stuff, stuff that, again, just sort of blended in, and now having to play and it's testing my memory (no problem finding my way around, just seeing things from new perspective, it's wild)

Give it a try!

Only a matter of time.

By the time I've completed the storyline a couple of times and messed around a fair bit, I'll probably know it like the back of my hand.

I found it hard and took a long time to know exactly where I was going in liberty city, it was all concrete jungle and looked the same wherever you were. In V however there are countless massive landmarks in the skyline to navigate by, from mountains to skyscrapers and knowing which direction the beaches and the Alamo sea are, I think it's guna be easy.

Not me dontgetit.gif

Had this game for a long time and I play it every couple of weeks... And I haven't mastered the map. Only the staring area.

I will learn the map of GTA V. The city at least, since it looks relatively small. I'll be playing GTA V for a very long time when it comes out. I might learn in in 2 weeks or less.

It was easy to remember for me. I could set out to head somewhere and wouldn't even need to glance at the map. To be on topic though; no matter how big the map I will learn it. I've learned TDU1's map(believe me I have, and that game is like 600square miles). GTA V obviously won't be as big and it will be more detailed thus making it even more easy to remember.

It always takes me forever to learn massive maps, many of which i still don't. Didn't play IV enough to memorize the map, many parts of that city look the same to me.

I usually learn game maps within 2-5 days after getting the game. I've always been good with geography and my surroundings. With V, it may take a couple more days.

I always knew the Grove and most of the area on SA, however I didn't really form much in my head about the other two islands. In V I can sometimes pick sh*t up from memory but if I go around the alleyways and such, which I like doing, I tend to get lost.

I know GTA 4's map better than I know my own city. Being a glitch hunter, I've learned to memorize locations, which after 750 glitches, I had the entire city memorized. However, due to GTA 5 being much larger, I may not memorize it as quickly. The countryside will be the most difficult to memorize unless you become some mountain expert, but the city should be fairly easy.

GTA 3 and Vice City I know better than my own IRL home-town.

San Andreas I'm very familiar with but there are gaps in my memory due to the massive size of that game.

Never owned GTA 4. Played it a few times but I don't know anywhere in that game at all.

GTA V will take f*cking forever to learn your way around without getting lost.

y'all should make sight seeing tours and take lots of pictures with your iFruits maybe you'd memorize the city faster that way

It'll take me about a week to memorize the city at least.

Don't know about the countryside though.

For those that think they know LC well you should try turning off the mini map. I done that once and it surprised me how difficult it was to get from one location to another just by memory alone.

There's an over reliance of the GPS in GTA IV which makes it easy to overlook how gridlocked the city streets are.

The only map I could say I know like the back of my hand is VC and GTA III to a lesser extent. GTA IV and SA in particular make me think a bit more.

I've actually been doing that recently and I don't seem to know the city any less. The only times I actually use the mini map is when I'm flying to line up their blips when I can't see the person.

But I agree, playing without the mini map is a little more enjoyable.

Ive memorized ever single GTA map besides GTA 4. Everything seemed to look alike and had a hard time memorizing Liberty City. Hopefully GTA 5 will be a little more diverse in terms of the landscape. I have a feeling it will.

Miamivicecity, I've done that earlier and with the map away I still know IV's map in the back of my head.

So with III and VC you didn't have any problems, with SA and IV you did have more difficulty to remember. That will obvious mean that with V you will have more! The City of Los Santos will be easy because it will have the size of Liberty City but then the surrounding hills, mountains and deserts it will be way more complicated. GTA V on the way!

This, i was about to write a post basically saying the same. Nothing in IV seemed to stand out to me to help me memorize the map.

When I got IV I never thought I'd know the map of the back of my hand, and 5 years on - I still don't. Nor do I want to, I don't really care about Liberty City it's the most dull map ever.
