Gaming computer

Hi,

what is the best gaming pc to run all games on maximum for around 1600 euros?

SSD's are pricy so I can crank the budget to 1800 or 1900 euros.

I'm planning to get a gaming pc soon but I don't know which parts I need.

Prebult are a big no-go for me because of the ridicolous combination and too expensive.

I live in Europe, is that a problem? This can help, you can help me to make a list of the parts

and I'll order them in my language and the the website, a comany that can build the pc.

Though the US Dollar is different from the Euro. Don't know if that is a problem.

I prefer a GTX680 but not sure from which brand like EVGA, MSI, ASUS etc.

I also need a very good case because of the airflow and the an extra cooler for the CPU.

It gets very hot in the summer.

Does anyone know a powerfull pc to get the max out of everything?

Since you can afford to buy a great system could you afford to wait? Intel's new Haswell range of processors are just around the corner. And yes the because of the price-performance ratio of the i5 and the i7. I'd say the i5 would win due to the minimal performance differences when it comes to gaming. You can only see it through benchmarks really. If you can't wait then we'll start building component's for you.

Thanks for the answer smile.gif

Yes, I can afford to wait. I knew about the Haswell. Will they be much better than the i5/i7?

I can wait for the Haswell Intel CPU's.

However, I'd like to know about which parts would you guys buy.

I'm getting very curious these last few days and laptops are for now over me.

I had an MSI GT70 ONE but 2500 Euros is a lot and GTX680 and i5 would never cost like that.

I have been a loyal notebook-user around 10 years, the games that are coming later this year and next year

I'd like to play them. Older games too and a gaming notebook is not the best option. Very limited cooling.

So, list the gaming pc, I can learn more this way. Cooling, PSU, motherboard and case are the least that I know about.

And also RAM. I'd like 16GB RAM.

Haswell will probably not be a whole lot faster than Ivy Bridge, though I'd just wait and see wink.gif

What country do you live in?

Yeah, it's less than a monht, so I'll wait.

I live in the Netherland. Do you need any specific website?

If you have some preferred stores to buy from then yeah wink.gif

As you know I have no knowledge about pc building but there is a store

they will build the pc for you for 40-50 euros. I don't have problem with that.

The store of the website is:

http://www.alternate.nl/html/configurator/...er/pc/page.html

Some things, I'll need a monitor and a keyboard too but I'll look that in a store in the city.

Want to see them myself because a good monitor is improtant.

Do you have any advice about the monitor?

And the OS I want is Windows7 Professional. Weird that store doesn't have Windows7 Ultimate.

Also only SSD's. I'm thinking about 2 SSD's, each 256GB. It's cheaper than a single 512GB.

Why Win7 Pro? Are you really gonna use the extra features it offers (let alone Ultimate) compared to Home Premium or regular Win8? That's just a waste of money IMHO.

Also, I forgot to ask - are you going to overclock the CPU?

BTW - €40-50 for just building the PC sound damn expensive to me... are you sure you can't build it yourself? It ain't that hard.

Haha, sorry for being so eh dumb tounge.gif

You can advice anything, I don't know what is better. I have been a loyal notebook user for ten years

so I don't know a thing about pc building and OS.

Win7 Home is a better choice?

No, I don't want to overlock the CPU and GPU. No need for, I think. Is that right?

I'd like to have an extra fan for the summers.

Unfortunately no, I can't build it my self but on that website they will build the pc for free if above 750 euros.

You could also use azerty.nl or salland.eu if you want a prebuilt custom pc. Alternate is more expensive in general.

Is that cheaper?

The problem is, I don't know which case, PSU and fans are good.

Only the i5-3570K and GTX680 I know of. The rest not.

Btw, Azerty is a Belgium keyboard or am I wrong?

i5-3570k was designed for overclocking. There's absolutely no point in buying it, if you won't overclock the CPU.

This is what I'd recommend in your budget:

237,90 € Intel® Xeon® E3-1230V2

http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Intel...2/?event=search

374,00 € GIGABYTE GV-R797OC-3GD

http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/GIGAB...4/?event=search

81,90 € MSI Z77A-G43

http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/MSI/Z77A-G43/991186/

305,80 € 2x Samsung MZ-7TD250BW

http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Samsu...D250BW/1038276/

112,90 € G.Skill 16 GB DDR3-1866 Kit

http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/G.Ski...866_Kit/984616/

139,90 € be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 550W

http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/be_qu...0_550W/1012052/

16,99 € LG GH24NS70

http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/LG/GH...8/?tk=7&lk=3946

99,90 € Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl

http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Fract..._Pearl/1010807/

28,49 € Zalman CNPS10X Optima

http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Zalma...6/?tk=7&lk=1693

89,90 € Microsoft Windows 8 64-bit

http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Micro...9/?event=search

= 1 487,68 €

Quad core CPU with Hyper Threading (i7 equivalent), very good graphics card (IMHO there's no point in going for GTX680, it's too pricey), mobo with RAID support, two SSD drives I'd suggest you hooking them up into a RAID0 array), 16GBs of RAM, top notch PSU, good computer case, a CPU cooler and Windows 8 OEM.

Nice, thanks a lot.

I can learn from that list.

Now only to wait and see how Haswell perform and can replace with it?

Yeah, i thought so I don't need the i5 but who knows. I won't overclock it anyway.

Haswell's raster performance is quite better than previous iterations'.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalf...s-next-gen-igpu

Intel revealed their Iris IGPU.

This is a pretty good rival for the AMD APUs.

Although I do not expect much in Compute Performance, AMD's GCN is truly the most efficient GPU architecture for both raster and compute.

And thanks to HSA, both can be done simultaneously.

So the Haswell gets an intergrated GPU that can match or even exceed Nvidia GT650M?

That can be very handy like when playing GTA SA, it use the intergrated GPU and

when playing high-end games, it uses the GTX680 or the AMD7970.

I would doubt so, especially given that Intel's far behind AMD and nVidia in making good drivers for their GPUs.

Doubt it too.

It's only handy for older games.

My post never originally implied that.

It expressed that, the game performance of Haswell will be better than it's predecessors, in a direct way.

I would doubt so, especially given that Intel's far behind AMD and nVidia in making good drivers for their GPUs.

That is most likely not going to change considering they don't spend the majority of their time on GPUs.

Indeed. Intel better spends the performance on their CPU rather than on GPU.

Let Ndidia and AMD do the job.

Btw, do they need you to have a completely new motherboard?

A new motherboard that first have to be designed to support the Haswell CPU's?

I won't overclock it so I'm fine with the i7-4770R.

Haswell CPUs use a completely new socket (LGA1150), thus they require new motherboards. As for the I7-4770R - I'd suggest you to wait for the Xeon E3 V3 (Haswell-based) CPUs, you'll probably save quite a few euros.

Ok, and that motherboard is there or still not designed?

What are the differences between thse CPU's you mentioned?
