Leblanc
So while waiting for GTA V to come out, i played Just Cause 2, when i finished the main story (only 7 missions) i completed 23 % of the game in 12 hours, my main feeling was disappointment, a game with a wonderful designed world and very extensive just wasn't exploited at it's best. So when hearing about R* saying that GTA V will be massive, 3.5x the size of RDR, you would want an amazing and satisfactory story. If the game is going to be all about Heist, how can you expect a good story? Or will it be another Hollywood cliche about bad guys against cops? What do you think? Here is a comparison about maps sizes. saintsrowrules
JC2 wasn't just bad story. It was bad scripting and voice acting as well. You don't need a great story if you have a good script and voice acting imo.

CryptReaperDorian
As mentioned, that picture isn't completely reliable. However, if it was, then you can expect GTA V's map to be roughly the same size as Far Cry 2's map.

Well that's whats wrong, because if you as a Dev company want to make a great game, but you can't write a good story, well the game in the end isn't that great, there are many many companies that can create a sandbox / open world game, but create a good story? just a few.. So it shouldn't receive a 9 or 10 from metacritic and other rating entities, but like always they just give 10 to R*..

That's how I feel towards people who just care about free roaming. I don't understand why people lack f*cks given about a great story. Don't get me wrong I love free roaming too but in depth story telling that R* always comes up with is astounding. I love the storyline of RDR, GTA: IV and MP3. It's not all about the free roaming for everyone. And some people like to get to know each character and a little bit about them it makes you grow an attachment to them. When a story has flaws in them and done all half ass it ruins the game. Or at least it does for ME. Yes when I'm done with the storyline I'm going to enjoy the free roaming and everything it has to offer. But a great storyline shouldn't only be for a RPG or First person shooter.... I cannot adequately come up with a word how dumb that sounds. The goal for ALL game developers should be to create a fantastic storyline.
