shadyslady
As we all know GTA V includes a lot of references to the movie heat. The heists, the city, the (dress) style of the protagonists during them heists. In Heat, the protagonist Frank Hanna (Al Pacino) is so into his work, his wife also starts cheating on him with another guy. Just like Amanda. And in the Michael-trailer, as well as in trailer two, we constantly see Tracy not getting her will. She wants to let her boyfriend stay over night, she wants to watch television, she gets insulted by Jimmy, etc. At first it seems to be pretty average, but what if this is one of the dramatic twists in the personal story of Michael? I can see him spending time with Franklin and Trevor, doing them heists. While Amanda spends money and Jimmy just hangs around, playing video games. And Tracy getting no attention. We see her partying to compensate what she experiences at home. I can see it coming. Her doing a suicide attempt. It would be another reference to HEAT, where Al Pacino's stepdaughter does the very same while her family life is in ruins.

shadyslady
I'm talking about an attempt. I assume if she does it, she will survive. Something like this. Michael and Amanda might make up again after this. If this GTA story covers anything else but trying to get money, this is a good basis for dramatic story twists. Michael's family. It will come to a point where he has to decide to help Trevor and Franklin or his family.
zainzombie
Um.. no I dont think so. The girl in Heat was younger and had much more solid reasons to be depressed to the point where she decided to commit suicide. From what I have gathered and think her character will be is that Tracey is a brat. Who has never seen/experienced bad things in her life and wants everything she wants to have. She seems like she is more interested in partying than committing suicide just because she didnt get much attention from her parents when she was growing up. Tracey being a brat definitely is the result of her parents not being good ones ofcourse. But at this point in her life, she just doesnt give a sh*t about them and just wants to party, do drugs and have fun.
Certinty
Doubt it. But in trailer 2 we saw a bit of Michael having to 'save' Jimmy, I reckon in some form of way he'll have to 'save' Tracy in the game too in whatever sh*t she gets messed up in. But it's unlikey that Amanda cheating on Michael is everything Rockstar can offer considering Michael's family and the potential drama with it. Rockstar would have already spoiled a lot then. This could be a small hint though. Tracy is constantly shown not getting her will and you hardly see her...but, you see her! And there is this metaphorical language as well, while Michael's grabs the remote control, switches the channel - boom gunshot! While Tracy walks away "I hate you!" Yeah she seems like a brat, but this doesn't mean she wouldn't be able to get her mindset in a position to commit suicide. If you look at them early GTA 4 trailers, what do you think of Roman? He seems like some disloyal family member, who only uses Niko. Like Fredo Corleone in "The Godfather". Only to find out that Roman is probably the most loyal person and is also a key figure considering the dramatic twists in GTA 4.

I have not seen Heat so I can't compare to Tracey, but I thought it was interesting how much time Mike spends with his son. It looks to me like they will be going on missions together. Not to imply Jimmy is a playable character, so you won't control him, but there will probably be times where he will need to be protected. It will be interesting if he can be taken along on heists since even in trailer 1 Mike's voice over talked about wanting to bond with his kids, and getting them interested in his "line of work" seems like a great way to do that. gtamann123
I could see there being a mission where Michael comes home and finds Tracy passed out in the bathroom with a bottle of pills. And we have to drive her to the hospital.
Lelouch The Zero
No. Shes hot. hope she is old enough for Franklin but shes over 18. thats for sure It was confirmed in a preview last year that Tracy is the younger sister of Jimmy, so i doubt she's over 18. Jimmy is either 19 or 20. I imagine Tracy being at least 16 or 17, maybe 18.

Buffalo Soldier
Would make for an interesting mission. You need to drive to Mount Chiliad in time, if you get there you talk Tracey out of it - if you're late, she jumps.

zainzombie
That sounds necessarily dark for no reason. Like one of the muppets getting cancer. haha I think the same way. The story should remain fun and not too serious, atleast not until the big twist (if there is one). I would rather have a mission to take Tracey who is OD'd with a timer to the left of the screen. Get Tracey to the doc in 5 minutes mission where there will be a lot of traffic on the roads.

BUT THE BENZ
I don't see it tbh. Natalie Portman in Heat portrayed a 15 year old or so girl that was not given attention by her mother and her step dead was Al Pacino who liked her but was too busy taking down guys who like to take scores. Tracy seems like a young adult, between 18 and 21 or so, and she has friends and money to compensate her weird family life. She's more likely to stab Jimmy than cutting her own wrist, IF anything. Wheatley
Although I don't see Tracey doing this, I would rather have a dark or gritty twist to the story. As much as some hated the more gritter story that Grand Theft Auto IV had I liked it as it left you with a sour taste in your mouth after completing the story. It was asking yourself if the "American Dream" sought by many is worth sacrificing your integrity for. Yet, I think in the recent previews that Rockstar said that they are doing both a part serious and part ridiculous story for this game. -Wheatley
Dick Justice
Yet, I think in the recent previews that Rockstar said that they are doing both a part serious and part ridiculous story for this game. I can see it being really similar to RDR's tone. That game had a pretty dark and serious theme but still had a lot of funny characters and humorous moments. It had a very serious story to tell but never let that get in the way of a good laugh every now and then. With GTA V, I can see them doing a lot of "larger-than-life" type missions and characters, while still being grounded in reality with a dark story to tell. I see it this way: the game is about chasing the almighty dollar, it would be pretty dull if the characters achieved their goal and then the game just ended. Much more conflict is needed. 36Chambers
I just don't see Tracey trying to kill herself. Al Pacinos stepdaughter, Lauren, was in a completely different situation leading up to her suicide attempt. She had no one to go to for help and she was getting more and more depressed as the movie progressed. Tracey however, has everything in life. She gets to party with her friends and she seems to buy whatever she wants. I would like to see a a darker side to the story despite all of the outrageous characters like in, as someone previously mentioned, RDR. Not as nearly dark and gritty as GTA IV, but enough to really make an impact. And seeing as how nearly every Rockstar game that's come out recently has had quite a bit of dramatic moments (IV, RDR, MP3), I think V will have its fair share.
