DODI3OG
There's no other way the could go. They can't have hour-long audio files for each car to make it sound different all the time. I mean, goodness, if they were to do that, they may as well add 50,000 sounds for each individual material, so it never sounds 'looped'. It takes up too much space, so loops have to be used, and if done right, sound fine. GTA IV sounded fine to me, a short 5 second loop didn't degrade my experience. It's not just about cutting development time and disk space. It's also about creativity. Of course, if ALL the developers try to make the sounds of their respective games life-like, then there are hundreds more developers who has the same sound with little to no difference at all. With GTA's custom; looped sounds, it doesn't just take a few efforts and disk spaces to make, the more unique it is, the more LOVE they've put into the game. Sure, recording sounds from real life and blending it into the game is harder by a landslide. But, did anyone even complain about Battlefield 3's gun sounds? They weren't life-like but, they're realistically blended into the game and sound pleasant to the ears unlike Call of Duty's "very loud" gun sounds. In conclusion; the sounds of past GTA games are realistically blended into their respective games, but they need to be more "ear friendly" as what a lot of us wants here. saintsrowrules
Do you folks think that GTA V might have looping engine sounds? GTA IV didn't have them, EFLC didn't have them, Red Dead Redemption didn't have them and neither will V. Doesn't matter what other games do in there game to be honest with you. Do horses run on engines in the UK, or are you just stupid?

DICE recorded Gun Sounds on the shooting range. They have a whole Sound Engine and even Recorded at Army Exercise in Sweden to adjust the Sounds to it... STOGE
to be honest i never really noticed this before untill i played sleeping dogs for the first time a few days ago and its really bad, the car, infact, any car or jeep or bike must have about 15 gears!!! its VERY VERY NOTICEABLE! iv never played S H I T S ROWS but iv heard its the same. however,i must stress that gta games HAVE NEVER BEEN AS BAD AS THESE GAMES. i still play iv regulary and its no way as bad as sleeping dogs, infact, its actually quite good, definately more realistic than sleeping dogs. overall though the engine sounds should be improved greatly for V as IV wasnt perfect but it defo wasnt s h i t! JB94
,Sunday, May 12 2013, 15:09] Then i suggest you play forza 4 or GT5 if you want all that this is GTA not a car simulation i'll never understand this argument.. why would you not want to improve on the game in every way possible? The game is called Grand Theft Auto, a legal name for car theft, and a good chunk of the game is driving so why would you want to keep driving as uninteresting and bland as possible? Instead of improving the game let's keep the game as uninteresting and boring as possible just because it's GTA and not [game said proposed feature excels in].. nah brah To be honest, GT5 does have a lot of vacuum cleaner sounds; the sounds are rather on the disappointing side. When I was on GTP there were many complaints regarding the sounds. In some respects GTA IV did better than GT5 for engine/ exhaust sounds. I do credit GT5 for having sounds that emulate a correct transmission and hope that GTA V has sounds that reflect real transmissions and how they limit an engine's RPM. iNero
Apart from GTAV probably having loops again, these sounds at least should sound more like a car and sports cars have to show their power when you drive it by having a realistic sound. We cant expect Forza sounds but at least something better than vacuum cleaners

Troll Proof
I don't get your argument. GTA IV doesn't have a looping soundtrack so why would GTA V have a looping track? Each car in IV simulates a fixed number of gears, so a looping soundtrack which would shift indefinitely cannot exist. Besides, even racing games, such as Burnout Paradise have reached critical acclaim despite the looping engine track.
