I could see myself getting the Vapid Police cruiser(Ford Taurus) and putting a matte black paint job and making it even faster. And have the option to take the lights off the roof. I can't see myself customizing an ambulance or fire truck though.

I completely misunderstood the title.

I thought by "emergency" vehicles you meant out getaway vehicle... I'm stupid. Yeah it would be f*cking awesome to trick the hell out of a LSPD cruiser or SUV. I never thought I'd ever in my life time of being on this forum bring up Saints Row but in Saints Row you could customize police vehicles. It was interesting.

You shouldn't be able to add 22"'s on your police cruiser, but you should be able to add anything that would "fit" on an actual ones like additional lights, removing the cop colours in favor of undercover or adding a front ram bar.

I agree completely on this, the only thing you should be able to customize are adding and removing pushbars, lights, all black wheels/hubcap wheels, and things of the sort. Not putting spoilers and stuff on it. Tuning a normal police cruiser to be an interceptor would be nice, too.

If they did it in Saint's Row I think that's a pretty good indication that it shouldn't be done in GTA V.

Would be cool to do undercover missions such as Most Wanted/Vigilante in a pimped out Police cruiser, which would be like an unmarked cop car? Adding a stealth element to it?

We shouldn't be able to drive police cars too in GTA IV: if you escape from the cops then you can drive their stolen car and they don't care, lol.

 

So, go freedom and you're not forced to do that.

Just because it was in Saints Row doesen't mean it is automatically a bad idea. SR has some good ideas in their games, like being able to customize and store any car in your garage and always have it. Same with aircraft. I for one hope that is in GTA 5 because I really like customization and being able to take one of my favorite cars out for a spin without worrying about losing it.

 

As for customizing emergency vehicles, yeah why not, but I wouldn't care if you couldn't.
