Alenko
When R* said they improved the driving was it just more arcade like wise or more realistic? I mean in IV the damn cars felt like they had zero weight to them. When a jump was landed, sparks would fly but the car felt like a feather! It would make it less satisfying. Also, there was that issue on the bridge where you would drive fast and slowly start driving on the wall like Batmobile, which got really annoying when I was trying to have a perfect, realistic police chase. This was annoying. What about hitting sh*t? The street lights would just all fall down even when you just slightly bumped into them.... I hope V fixes these issues. Graven
I think the cars will have more downforce, but same kind of feeling overall than in IV. Arcade is over.
poklane
All I hope they change is make the car stick to the road more. It's so easy to launch someone into space.
Paper Mario
I loved it in IV and other GTAs that my car when racing onto a little egde or something I would fly up high and rotate a few times. I'd be like "Dafuq? Nice!" I don't want to be stuck to the ground that much that it is near impossible to fly up or something because of a bump. Drake1212
Some preview said something about Rockstar North getting help from the Midnight Club LA-developers to code the car handling. So my guess would be that steering in V will be similar to the steering in Midnight Club. This can somewhat be seen in trailor 1, 2 and Michael's and Franklin's trailor, where we see some high-speed chases, in which the cars handle much like Midnight Club LA. And in case you haven't played Midnight Club LA, go play it. It's awesome.
Andreas
When R* said they improved the driving was it just more arcade like wise or more realistic? Game Informer stated in November more or less the same thing as the most recent previews do. Rockstar has also changed driving mechanics, noting that cars “hold to the ground a bit better” and have “a little more physics on them,” making driving feel more like a racing game. This mission showed off GTA V’s driving mechanics, which looked the same as Grand Theft Auto IV’s, but are apparently reworked and tighter than ever. TheHotHead
As long as I can drift around each and every corner, leaving nothing but smoke and skid marks in my wake, i'll be happy.
iNero
It just will slide less and have more grip to the road. Will be awesome. An I hope we will have a higher top speed this time
MuXu96
I just played Sleeping Dogs, JC2 and Saints Row 3 again, and have to sa... f*ck arcade driving, GTA IV was MUCH better (even tho agree the weight was too light!) It just doesn't feel good to have such easy handling..
Stones
I like how cars in GTAIV felt, as long as they can atleast match that level of realism I'll be happy.
TheCzar
Really want an improvement on acceleration, in cars that actually have high acceleration e.g Infernus. It felt in IV that every car was slow, and that when you put your finger on the trigger to acclerate the response was so much slower when compared to real life when you put your foot on the gas. Kill Frenzy!
I know one thing that is when I was driving in IV, correctly and safe when I stopped before a red light cars behind me was pushing my car away and my reaction was like what the f*ck are you doing with my beautiful car mothaf*cker! Driving AI just needs to be re-done in general! I hate how all the AI drivers are useless and pretty much all drive at the same speed. I'm crying out for some variation in speeds in V. Remeber how painfully slow AI would drive over the East Borough Bridge fly over from Algonquin towards Broker before the toll booth?
gta5freemode4eva
"GTA IV's demanding vehicle handling is one of the reasons that its multiplayer remains so popular. GTA V's looks to be friendlier but is in no way dumbed down." Source - Edge - 3 new screens (the one with Franklin breaking into the car). I'm hoping this means the suspension has been tightened and hopefully the cars actually weigh more than a gnats' fart. That is all that really needed fixing imo. GTA IV's racing/handling/physics/mechanics were pretty spot on.
Mr. Scratch
The weight wasn't the problem, the soft suspension is the reason all the cars felt so sluggish.
