TheBankManager
Since a huge percentage of the map is in the country side, you could imagine all the missions that we'll be doing there including racing and such. You remember the missions in San Andreas in the country? Chasing the train, racing and more... All these missions took ages to finish because of how hard it was to drive off road, because these are issues in the wilderness: -Losing control of vehicle easily and drifting until it either flips over or you've lost track of mission -Landing in water while in a chase -Driving off mountains and cliffs What do you think about the country side? Cant wait! Edited May 11, 2013 by TheBankManager
iNero
Thats how off road should be... What would be the point when having the same physics as on road?
goh13
Cars have a sense of wight now. Looking at it from a positive side, you can do anything you want as long as you have skill. Looking at it from a negative side, cars will keep sliding as soon as you lose it or you reach a steep surface.
TrevorsMom
Get on a mother f*ckin quad an go razzin around that bastard countryside as fast the f*ckin game lets you
IDredMan
Oh god I remember the train chasing missions. But I don't think many heists huge enough to involve things like that will be taking place in the country.
FiniteFr
Honestly i never had a problem with off road driving. Once you got the hang of controlling cars on that surface you sort have just developed a different driving style to on the road, I spent most of my time out in the country and most of my SAMP days racing up and down Mount Chilliad so I was never a problem for me. I think its about the player and their driving style on the dirt. Now GTA IV good some getting used to, the handling on the dirt was quite icy. But again once you understand how to drive on it its perfect

Guest
That's your problem, not the game's problem. Off-road driving missions in SA were pretty easy. Never understood the hate for "wrong side of the tracks".
darkplague
All you had to do was follow the damn train!!!! i hope the Quad handles better this time... the one in SA where the cowboys robbed the bank before you, oh i hated that one...
TheBankManager
As I'am excited for the country side equally as Los santos, I know how much the missions will torture all the players. There will be that missions or missions which make everyone throw their controller on the TV
wwinterj
I think that screen looks beautiful. Personally I was fine with how it was in San Andreas and look forward to taking a Sanchez along the dirt tracks in GTA V. I hope to see a lot of missions in the countryside and I think I'll go all the way around the city staying in countryside only on a Sanchez is possible. TheQuestfor100Percent
Off road driving is supposed to be difficult. I didn't have an issue with it in SA, just take it easy and driving is fine off road.

Your sigiture proves thats how it is in real life. Anyway when off road the reason its icey is because you put your foot down and wheel spin all the time. On Xbox/Ps3 this isnt a problem you can control your accelerator. On pc, yea its impossible.
TheHotHead
I looked at that first screenshot and thought "Im going to spawn the fastest car I can on top of that hill and go as quick as I can into the ground/river". Is that a bad thing? OT: I had no problem with off roading in SA. Truthfully, I love it. It lets you see which cars handle better off road and which are good for going nuts on the grass
Mário César Baldessar Moro
Checkpoints in the missions are confirmed? If yes, no problem.
TheMisanthrope
It honestly wasn't all that hard... but my problem with SA is you don't have any type of throttle control because you had to use X as the accelerator. That always bugged me. The only mission that gave me problems was that one with Catalina or whatever her name was where you had to drive the quad and chase after them that one one a pain in the ass. M4RK
Im worried that they terrain may be too rocky to even drive on. San andreas had a lot of flat areas but looking at alot of the countryside pics from V, it looks like u cant even drive on anything but the dirt roads. Jewstinian
All you had to do, was follow the damn train, CJ! Yes I remember that. I liked the challenge though. I just hope they fix the flying. In San Andreas, it was a total bitch imo.
THEBIGZED
Didn't really have problems. You should just learn to drive. Even the follow the train mission is easy as long as you don't get too close to the train. It's not good game design by any means but once you get where to be it's really simple. However in IV the off road was a bit too slippery so hopefully they'll adjust it, and now that there is so much countryside and many different terrains to drive on, I'm sure they'll work hard on it. Snake Without a Tongue
Off-road driving missions in SA were pretty easy. Never understood the hate for "wrong side of the tracks". I failed it about five times in a row, but I loved it. Oh, Big Smoke, you fat bastard. The only thing I hated about the off road is SA is getting stranded. Sounds like they fixed that, though. ArcherTheGreat
Well that's what the Patriots are for . Seriously speaking, Rockstar should have included a variety of all-terrain vehicles like Toyota Hiluxes, Jeeps and numerous other off-road SUVs
