Quackerz Gamerz
As we know from the previews, the player will be able to plan out the heists to what benefits them, whether it's sneaking into the bank undetected or run in guns blazing, the player will have (almost) full control of how they go about the heist. The example we have already seen is the jewellery store robbery. In the first trailer, we see Michael and two others getting out of a Bugstars van, wearing the matching uniform aswell, then kicking in the front door. In Michael's trailer, we see a trio of men (most likely the three protags) bursting through the front door, but this time wearing suits and ski masks, rather than the Bugstars livery. And in Franklin's trailer we see the trio wearing the Bugstars uniforms again, but this time escaping the cops on Sanchez bikes, through the LS Storm Drains. Of course, this is just one example of the players choices for the heists, but we can assume that many of these choices will be made even for the smaller heists, like the 'Blitz Play' mission. This topic is about sharing your plans/ideas on how you will attempt to do the heists; such as explaining if you will use a crew, what weapons, getaway vehicle and placement of said vehicle, etc. Here is my example (I will be using the jewellery store heist): - Getaway vehicle(s): Buffalo and one of the black Declasse SUVs seen in Franklin's trailer. - Outfit(s): Suits w/ ski masks - Crew: 3 protags, 1 hacker, 1 getaway driver and 2 gunners - Plan: The hacker will disable the silent alarm before the rest of my crew move in through the front of the store. I will try to get the 2 gunners to cover the entrance(s), while M, T and F get the cash. The getaway driver will be waiting in the SUV around the block with the Buffalo is parked next to him. Once we get out of the store, we'll make a run for the cars, with the 3 protags in the Buffalo (Franklin as the driver), and the others in the SUV. I'd like to hear your ideas on how you will plan heists! EDIT: I forgot to add what weapons I'd use. The gunners would probably have M4s or some other kind of AR, the 3 protags would have SMGs and the driver and hacker would both use a pistol as they won't do much fighting. Wilko007
What i understand, is that missions like "Blitz Play" are not actually campaign missions, rather side missions helping you to train up on your heist preparation skills and testing new combinations, while making a bit of money at the same time, for example, say you're michael, someone in the FIB ring you saying there's an armored truck heading to a bank loaded with cash in a couple of days, and gives you the option to take it, while it's in transit, or earlier if need be. You will then obviously have a couple of days time limit, before the truck sets off, and you need to set up everything, suits, backup, getaway cars, evidence disposal e.t.c. They just prepare you for the larger, main mission heists
Mokrie Dela
As long as we can do lots of heists in free roam (sp). I really wanna go in there and do a traditional robbery but also to do one splinter cell style I really wanna drive a pickup through the windows at night when the stores shut and 'smash and grab' Can we also rob liquor stores, on our own? Hmm The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Click here to view my Poetry
griffon2010
I wonder if Rockstar thought about the weight of the loot. It's one thing to plan how you're going to get in and out, but I've never read anything about the weight of the stuff we'll be able to steal and if it will be implemented in the game. Running out of the jewelry store with over 10 million in diamonds in your pocket and hopping on your getaway motorcycle is realistic. Running out of the bank with over 10 million in platinum/gold bars or even cash in your duffel bag and then make your getaway on a motorcycle is impossible, it would be just too heavy and would make you lose your balance. You would need at least some kind of platform trolley to bring it to your getaway car or even truck/SUV for heavier loots. I hope Rockstar thought of this and has been able to implement it in the game because it would really affect the way I would plan the heists: - Maybe the "strength" bar for every character represents the maximum weight they can carry (equipment + loot) a bit like the loadouts in Max Payne 3 MP => If you're overloaded you can't run and your health does not regenerate. So no running around LS with 20 gold bars in your pockets. - Each vehicle should have a maximum payload capacity (passengers + loot) before its performance drops, the suspension bottoms out, the tires blow if you hit a curb and the engine ultimately breaks down under the strain. - I would use motorcycles for daytime jewelry heists or public transportation for stealthy ones. - I might use scuba diving gear when stealth robbing places near the Vespucci canals (got the idea from the movie "Parker") - I would use cars for "classic" cash heists - I would use pick-up trucks and SUVs or even trucks for gold heists - For very high profile heists, I would like to parachute down on to the roof of the building to make a stealth entry and then get away by being picked up by a helicopter on that same roof. - Steal an armored truck with a skycrane ( ) One last thought: it's been mentioned that it will be possible to park in advance of heists in specific locations the getaway vehicles. I'm thinking, "why not just park an Infernus every time and be done with it"? If Rockstar really thought about this aspect of the game, then that Infernus I've parked in south LS the night before the heist should be gone in the morning, being taken apart in a chop shop, or at least sitting on bricks. Or that muddy pick-up truck (the red one Trevor drives) I've parked on the poshest street of LS should have been impounded or flagged as suspicious by the cops. There should be an algorithm calculating the probability of a car being stolen/impounded or considered as suspicious by the police depending on how much it's worth and the area it's parked making the game much more interesting and forcing you to plan your heists very carefully down to the last tiny detail. TheCzar
Scenario: Robbing up a bank/liquor store etc.. Franklin and Trevor run in guns blazing shooting pretty much everything that moves. Michael is in a sniping position, making sure no police get inside the store, the FIB trucks start arriving as things get more heated and Michael uses the RPG to take out the truck and everyone near it. Franklin and Trevor make a run for the getaway vehicle, Michael climbs off the rooftop, hops into his 9f and cruises away unsuspected. Just a little idea in my head
rjmthe2nd
Michael picks up the 2 in an Red Buffalo(FIB), drives to a bank, parks and gets out casually, opens up their trunk and pulls out 3 masks (All 3 Clown Masks) Then they take out Silenced Pistols, and smoke grenades (can be their first heist) Trevor kicks open the door, throws one in,screaming erupts from inside) Michael runs through the smoke unaffected and fires at 2 security guards Franklin outside fires at 2 Police Officers Outside, killing them quickly, pulling their bodies behind a garbage can. Michael & Trevor gets everyone under control, Michael then calls up a "4th Man" to deliver the cars over ( 3 All Black Sultan RS's! ) Franklin Hides somewhere else outside to be on lookout but not to noticeable Michael & Trevor run up the stairs to get to the vault in the bank, after attempting to crack it twice,no dice... Trevor pulls out a C4,Blows it up anf their in They grab 1 bag each, possibly caring about 150,000 in each. Franklin sees the "4th man" pull up in a All White Infernus which has "VC" In Pink on the side of the doors (lance from Vice City Easteregg) he then hops out with 3 other men in 3 black Sultan Rs's he tells them get out quickly more cops are coming they all go to the back of the bank and get into a Red Bugstars van, except for the "4th man" who leaves in the White Infernus. Franklin yells into his earpiece to tell Michael and Trevor to get the hell out, the cars are here! Michael's earpiece isn't functioning right so he is still waiting... Franklin then runs into the bank, unplanned and tells them again, Trevor then tells franklin to grab a bag for yourself Then Michael & Trevor leave out to the front while Franklin goes back up for more Bags Michael & Trevor get into their own Black Sultan RS's and wait for franklin, sirens are wailing all over the block. Franklin runs out firing wildly at cops, killing 6 of 'em. just as soon as he has his back turned a cop with a shotgun aims at franklin's back "BAM!" The "4th man", shot the officer from a Building top with a sniper "All Clear" Franklin gets in the Black Sultan RS's then they all split up, ending up in their own High speed chases with the police The Player can then switch between them and see it from different perspectives in their own chases heading to a different location, then meeting up when they lost them. zainzombie
For me to plan a robbery I first need to know what are we robbing and what options do we have for that particular robbery. I cant say what route would I take, but most of the time I will go with stealth in the first attempt. So it will be something like this: Crew: 1 Hacker, 1 getaway driver 3 protags. Outfits: Suits and masks Weapns: 1 sniper at the roof of the opposite building which will be one of three protags, silenced pistols for rest of the 2 protags and the hacker. Getaway car: A mini van. Plan: Gain access to the location undetected through the roof or sewers. Hacker hacks the security system and disables the alarm. Steal whatever we were there for, hack the surveillance cameras and remove any tapes. Then get the F out of there. My first priority will always be, try not to kill the guards. If I can pull a heist with zero kills that would be the best scenario for me, but if I have to... What can I do? So either avoid or silently kill the guards while making the way in and out of there. Go to the location where getaway vehicle is parked (somewhere nearby) and... done.
TheMisanthrope
I hope that R* really put a lot of thought into all the details especially the small ones. I wanna be able to scope the place out get to know it's suroundings. The streets near it, the small alley ways and shortcuts and the rooftops where it would be possible to land and park a getaway helicopter. And I hope not EVERY heist goes wrong where you have to kill people unless you want to. For cops to show up every single time and killing 'em all would be so tacky. And I hope you can take a hostage and hold everyone at gun point make it realistic. Like I said if they thought about all the details surrounding heists there could be a lot of replay value with the big heist and even the small smash and grab ones. I can't even tell you how I'd plan things as I don't know the layout of the place I'd be planning my heist on. Other than I'm wanting to plan mine as stealthy as you possibly can and without unnecessary violence. That's why I'm concerned with how the police respond. I don't want all out war every heist.
