Had a look through various wikis, news, forum etc. and I couldn't find any discussion about selective fire.

Would be pretty cool if you could have various fire modes per weapon like a SMG with single, 2/3 round burst and fully automatic. Even better if you could customise your weapons to add selective fire or add additional modes.

Nothing beats a burst or automatic fire glock. biggrin.gif

I'm sure as hell that weapon modes are going to be included in this game. Really, I can guarantee you this. I feel it deep in my very bones.

Actually, they have to include it if they want to be on par with most first person shooters, which are 8 years old or older.

If I'm not mistaken MP3 had selective fire modes on some weapons? So here's hoping!

I don't see any reason for it if im being honest. I mean in FPS games sure select fire helps me keep my aim steady and sure it helps with the recoil, BUT in 3rd person shooter I don't see any use for that especially if they keep the "lock aim"-system. Silencers, bigger or faster mags. Fit the game. Laser sight helps with free aim. If they ad sights to the guns which turns the gameplay to first person only then I would see them adding a selective fire option/mod to the guns. I hope that they ad useful attachments and that they have a cleasr effect tough.

They did for a few of the guns. Not many of them though.

That said I'd love if select fire made it in, Single, Burst, and Full Auto. Maybe even the ability to change the firerate of other weapons, and for an extra cost on top of that to make it full on select fire. Obviously not all weapons would have this option.

They don't have enough room on controllers as it is. It would be a nice option, everybody likes options.

It's possible that there might be a fire mode selector switch. In Franklin's trailer it looks like an NPC is firing and AK-47 in semi-auto and in Trevor's trailer Trevor is firing fully automatic. I would love to have the option to conserve ammo and be more precise in shooting instead of being forced to spray and pray.

And then there's me who played through the whole game WITHOUT knowing such a thing exists! mercie_blink.gif

I know in IV you could do single shots by just tapping the trigger. Could even work out burst fire by holding down the trigger just long enough to get two or three shots off. Granted that is only with weapons that are automatic to begin with.

Edit: I think some of my friends complained about that in MP cause you could tap the trigger quickly and get nearly the same fire rate as just holding down the trigger and spraying, but without the accuracy loss.
