Neudd
R* don't do facial motion capture in GTA V. The only game that I've heard of that does is L.A Noire. Max Payne did, watch the video that keeps getting posted about the may Payne Dev interview.. They just don't use it to the full extent that LA Noire did. They still have to capture facial expressions just watch the trailers, especially michaels where he frowns etc
J-B
Oh my god this is so annoying. I'm a voice actor and VOICE ACTORS DO NOT HAVE TO, AND OFTEN DO NOT, LOOK LIKE THE CHARACTERS THEY PORTRAY They don't, they just don't! The only exception is a game like LA Noire where they're modelling the characters on the actor but they AREN'T It's silly to see you all go round in circles on something so irrelevant! You can't take a picture of a balding dude in the same position and claim it's Trevor's voice actor. You can take somebody who sounds like Trevor and do that but not look. It's so silly! So we're just gonna ignore Rockstar's recent history of using their character's VA's for mocap work and using said VA's for the character's likeness ? Hell, let's just look at their most recent project, Max Payne 3, where pretty much the entire VA cast had their likeness's used for their characters(they even restyled Max himself to look like his VA) and did mocap work for cutscenes. We also pretty much know that the other two protagonists were modeled after their VA's this time around. Add all of that with fact that Steven Ogg looks like Trevor and has similar vocal cues to him, and it's not silly at all to think he might be his VA. InternetKillTV
Oh my god this is so annoying. I'm a voice actor and... What have you voice acted so far? Could I clarify that my statement is not an effort of self validation but instead one to assist those who seem to be unaware of how this industry works in terms of hiring? While Rockstar may have worked to add their actor's facial features to the characters it is absolutely not a regular thing and should not be referred to as such. When you're searching for a voice actor you can't base all your findings on looks which is what I see happening here. "Found man who looks like character, maybe him?" As far as what I've acted for before they're probably not projects you would have heard of, after all this is a fan group for GTA and not what I've done. The usual radio imaging stuff, tv and internet ads, the kinda stuff you get asked to do pretty regularly. Character wise it ranges from cartoon characters in children's shows, audiobooks, a number of narrations, some upcoming with a group called the Noxcrew. As I said they're not projects you'd recognised but nonetheless I make my living from voice acting and have been around the block a few times. Though again, my history isn't so relevant. You can't demand a voice actor to have worked for Rockstar in order to find truth in his statements relating to industry wide standards. If we have any hope of finding Trevor's actor, which it seems we all want to do, we have to look for actors that have shown a distinct ability in portraying such a character. Not whether he can put his hands in the same place or has similar facial hair. The VO doesn't always do the mo-cap either. In fact he doesn't have to look like the character to do mo-cap, not in a project like GTA. I'm fairly sure Niko and Max had a number of mo-cap actors. And I agree that you shouldn't have the mindset that just because a voice actor shows resemblance to a character, then he's the voice actor. But Steven Ogg looks remarkably like Trevor, and he sounds exactly like him as well. This can't be just a coincidence. I agree that the people who are so sure that he is the VA should think again, because it is all speculation now.

Visual similarity 2. Has done extensive voice acting 3. Has done VA work for a video game 4. Has been in an episode of Law & Order 5.
