Happyness
Alright, to be honest this is becoming an urgent situation so to say, I and I am sure that a lot of people are getting tired of going on differnet topics and seeing the page stretched. There ARE codes out there which block the page from stretching. Can't you nice fellas do something about it? I am sure the community would appreciate it! Shoumaker
When people post over sized images, only then does the page stretch. And there's nothing that can be done about it unless the image is either re-sized or Hyper-linked. If you see a post that is stretching the page I advise you to use the 'Report Post' button on the bottom right hand corner of each post and staff will deal with it sooner or later. Be patient since staff members also have a life outside the forums.
Kwabs
And there's nothing that can be done about it There're lots of plugins and codes that can automaticly resize images if they're oversized. And I'm pretty sure the admins know that. So it's not like they can't do anything about it...
Shoumaker
What I meant with that line is with the Admin CP broken I doubt staff are looking to modify the board with more plugins, hacks and what not. The software's basically held by duct tape and more hacks could put the stability at risk. I'm sure staff would have implemented this feature a long time ago if they wanted to. Why do you think things like new skins aren't added or things like name changes aren't done anymore? For the very same reason I have stated in the start of this post. Suction Testicle Man
Features such as this are certainly ones we intend to implement, but with newer software. Implementing this in IPB is unnecessarily time-consuming for many reasons, and somewhat wasted since we won't have it around much longer. The problem isn't so much the Admin CP, but rather the poor code architecture and deprecated constructs that are IPB 1.3 (due primarily to its age). If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated.
Happyness
And when are you folks going to switch over to a new software? I mean, I appreciate all of your work, but this seriously needs to be addressed urgently. It's painful to use my 3mb or keyboard to look at the text when the page stretches. Much appreciated. Andreas
And when are you folks going to switch over to a new software? Take a look here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtop...entry1062483228 To be honest, if it wasn't for the broken admin cp, I'd have preferred to keep the forum as it is. But change is upon us and we have to shift to a newer forum in the hope to provide a better experience to the users than right now. Hopefully, if there are no hiccups, the new forums should be live before GTA V releases. Or at least, that's what the plan is. Given how talented our admins are, I'm sure you won't be disappointed with it. Jevon
Urgently? How on earth is this an urgent problem that needs to be addressed urgently? It's hardly life or death. Happyness
Alright, maybe the [urgent] in the title wasn't needed, but it IS getting annoying, like, a lot. I mean, the forum has been around for a while, and this feature should've been added WAY before. I don't want to keep on using my mouse & keyboard to read some long ass text because the page was stretched! :-) Could an admin remove the [urgent] from the title? Please. ALMOST610
Well I am sure someone could write a Firefox Addon or something similar like a 'UserScripts' code to stop the page stretching, Hell I might even give it a go, but with the post about the new forum making it here this year would there be much point. ALMOST610
Double Post... I know, but anyway just thought I would say that I have made a Script that will scale images down when they are too wide, for anyone using Firefox you will need to install Greasemonkey, I think that Chrome and Maxthon natively support things from Userscript.org, and as far as I can tell there is no way for this to work in Internet Explorer. I will post again with a new topic and links for installation when I get it uploaded on Userscripts.org, there is still a little bit of testing for me to do on 4:3 Monitors, which might need a different scaling number to the 16:9 ones I have been testing on. Here we go, I have created a page for the GTAForums Image Widthener, Enjoy. Edited May 12, 2013 by ALMOST610
