Watch Dogs will fail.

GTA will always be the best sandbox free roam action game.

Not even going to waste the money on this Watch Dogs sh*t - Id even f*ckin buy SR4 before that sh*t

I request your kind to stay away from this thread. Thank you.

Says the big Watch Dogs fan. Why don't you leave if you think it'll be better than GTA? This is a GTA forum NOT a Watch Dogs forum. At least post your topic in another section of the forum for NON-GTA games and not in the V section.

While it looks gorgeous, I get the feeling Watch Dogs won't live ups to it's hype, like most experimental titles. After watching that video it reminds me more of LA Noire than GTA. Which sucks. It doesn't seem to give you the freedom that GTA does, and that's why we all play it. The shooting looks decent, the driving looks terrible, but the graphics are fantastic. It just feels limited. Though I respectively admit I haven't played it yet, so I could be dead wrong...

that's the point, it's not a freeroam game, it's a story ->after stoy=over game.

Except you like the multiplayer

I'm an even bigger GTA fan. Hell, I'd pay 500$ for GTAV now. But that isn't the point here. This is a topic that I made for you guys to properly debate. Not say "OMG I AM BUTTHURT GO 2 WD [email protected]@@!!!"/

I'm excited for both. But the 'wow' factor of how Watch Dogs looked it based around the fact that we are seeing it through next gen technology. I can bet my bottom dollar that the PS3 and 360 version of Watch Dogs is going to look like a lot worse than GTA V does. As for gameplay, Ubisoft aren't that great, especially with physics, the new gameplay trailer posted by OP shows some driving, it looks really loose and a bit sketchy. Rockstar always provide the best physics. No game yet has aced horse physics like they did in RDR. In the latest AC, the horse physics was embarrassing. So we will see how 'detailed' Ubisoft have really gone with Watch Dogs when we are playing it. I'm still excited for it though, it LOOKS great and it's somewhat fresh. But I have a feeling it's just going to feel like Assasins Creed, in a modern setting, with hacking as a theme, which is not original at all, just a re-hash. I hope it's not that. The end of the year will be a good time for open world sandbox games. But I have a deep down feeling that when Watch Dogs comes out, I will just complete it and put it down, and then carry on playing GTA V, like Sleeping Dogs. I think it will suffer from the problems Sleeping Dog's did, it has a lot to offer, but just didn't have THAT feeling. Rockstar put something in GTA, sounds stupid but it's an ingredient, and nobody who creates open world games has yet to replicate that yet, I don't think Watch Dogs will.

watch dogs is too arcadey with its on-screen labels and weightless car physics.

it will be a good game, no doubt, but like sleeping dogs, its extensive list of features and interesting settings don't hold a light to gta V because they're not timeless, realistic set pieces.

i feel it's a bit like pop music. the beatles last forever because of its stripped back and raw production. there's no synthesizers or special effects nor gimmicks and after its initial release it holds up for years to come - like gta IV.

weird analogy but i hope you know what i mean.

Though watchdogs will be a good game, GTA V will be better. Watchdogs seems to be way too scripted for an open world game, like a modern day AC. AC was a good game but i got so tired of it, all the cut scenes and generic cookie cutter moves. It got to be so boring in my opinion. Watchdogs will have a much different feel as opposed to GTA V.

Basically, Watchdogs will be just another Ubisoft game and GTA V will be the ultimate open world game.

I'll get both for sure, maybe WD first as it is announced to be released for PC by the end of the year, GTAV still on hold even If I believe it will be out by the same time.

But what i don't understand is the "I don't like it it's too scripted"... is it really? You have a whole city that you're able to explore the way you want, you can grab any car or bike you want, you have lot's of random events (side missions), you can mug people, kill people, run away from police, , use shops, your phone and you have specific objectives/ missions in order to progress in the game.

Now tell me how scripted is this compared to GTAV... when GTAV have basically the same play system? You steal peoples cars and bikes, you use shops, you have a cell phone, you can explore the whole city, you can shot people and run away from police, you have random events and you have specific missions/ objectives you must follow to progress.

I know that GTA will have a huge map, with lots of explorable wasteland, ocean, planes, helicopters, bicycles and whole those cool things but as a game it's not much different from WD. Perhaps comparing it to GTAV isn't fair because of all I mentioned above, but you can compare it to GTAIV, where you only had 1 city, no planes, no bicycles, no wasteland, no ocean.

I think both games will be great and I have money put aside for them, but saying that one is different from the other and it sucks doesn't make any sense and such statement just indicates fanaticism and ignorance, people can like it or not but criticizing it as a whole it's not fair.

The end of this year is going to be great with all the different things coming. Mainly GTA V of course. inlove.gif

WD needs add countryside, strip clubs - pretty much a standard in decent OW games these days, or a buoyancy outside the storyline to compete with GTA 5.

i think watch dogs will be a big dissapointment for those who r comparing it to V and see it as a competition for V...

sure it wont be a bad game it even will be a pretty good one i think

but AC 3 was a solid good game too but like watch dogs way overhyped...

after i finished ac3 i never touched it again cuz after all it was too linear and there wasnt much to do after u finish the story...

i think with watch dogs it will be the case too when the story is finished and after the whole hacking thing is worn out u r left in a city where u can drive arround, (and driving seems to be bad indeed) fight with the cops or protect the peds from criminals...

maybe theres something more to do i don't know cuz im not interested in watch dogs enough to read previews and such but imo watch dogs will be a good game but nothing even close comparable to V and i think the makers of watch dogs dont wanna be compared to V themselfs cuz they know they'll lose...

anyway i dont think this is the place for a watchdogs fanboy thread.

isnt there a huge watchdogs-franchise forum? no? biggrin.gif
