Lelouch The Zero
I think the game will be very different to past GTAs. I think it will feel similar to San Andreas.

AuSsIeThUnDeR36
I think it will feel like a synchronisation of RDR, La Noire, GTA IV and SA all combined together. In one word, Awesome.
hubert101010
Biggest difference for me: Music In 2008, pretty much every number one song was RnB or Hip Hop. In 2012, pretty much every number one song was traditional Pop or Dance. Economy is still sh*t, cars are the same, architecture's the same. Nameless Foot Soldier
I remember Dan saying a lot had changed enough for a another modern game and I agree with him. To me, 2008 was the beginning of the social and cyber obsessed culture when things like Facebook, tumbler and twitter were just starting to hit it big. Now in 2013, our culture is very heavily centered around this stuff and it has effected people and the way they act more then you know. Not to mention the change in politics, economy, news media and all that jazz has as usual been through a evolution.

Maybe he doesn't have a TV, or a computer, and he's just typing this on a typewriter in the past from 1955.
MasterO
A lot more emphasis on the troubled economic climate. TBoGT touched upon this, but because of the nature of the story and when IV was released, the main game didn't factor in a lot of that.

I agree, while there are allot of similarities to how everything was then, there's been enough change in society to warrant another game, and have it feel diffrent, personally I'm glad they took this route instead of picking another timeframe, it'll allow us to see a more linear progression of GTA's parodiy of our Society which I enjoy. Kind of hard to think that it's been five years since GTAIV came out five years ago.

shadyslady
Will there major different in game between those years. Music, City, Atmosphere etc I guess there's more people having smartphones. More technology. As you can see in GTA 4 the phones were quite antiquated. Same with weaponry. Rockstar really chose some classic, old school weapons. I know the Glock in widely spread, just like the other guns in GTA 4. But the videos and screens of GTA 5 prove they chose more modern guns now. Yeah, i pretty much agree with you on this one, everything nowadays in the real word is the same as it was in 08, but a little bit better due to general development, however the music that people listen to has changed dramatically. Also the OP has no sense of grammar.
Big Danny K
When I bought GTA IV for the PC in the end of 2008 I was 16 years old, just started the 10th year in school. Tomorrow (May 12th) I'll be 21, 5 months left till my service ends, waiting for the end of the year for the PC version of GTA V to be announced Times are changing, we're getting older, I think in a few more years there'll be no time for gaming, because I'll probably have studies/work/wife & kids... Welcome to adulthood, it sucks balls...
webbo254
I bet were going to see a lot more 'closed down' businesses in GTA V compared to IV to represent the way the economy is.
