Zancudo
Here's what Hideo Kojima, the creator of Metal Gear Solid series from Japan, stated about GTA V in one of his latest tweets: "Watched "GTA V" trailer with 3 protagonists. As expected it has a feel of American. I'm impressed. I cannot make this far American world view. BTW "GTA" also is using "V". lol" I think it is worth to mention, that when GTA III was released back in the day, it put a lot of influence on his creativity. He admits that since then he was always in a dream of recreating such a vast and rich open world in one of his games.

RomansMoobs
Them Greeks love GTA I guess. How can they possibly afford GTA V? They owe the rest of Europe billions of euros. ScottishHeist123
Why would you think the USA is the only one to be hyped about GTA?? You do know GTA is made by a Scottish developer right? Scotland being in the UK... I see where you're coming from and I disagree. Just because R* North is in Scotland doesn't mean its people have to be the most hyped. The US is arguably the largest gaming market in the world by a lot, so it is reasonable to use the USA as an example of hype for a game like GTA V. As for those striking down the OP, despite his repeated apologies: Get some fresh air, guys! It's quite amazing that even Japanese folk are getting hyped for GTA V. Just goes to show what a massive hit it is going to be! Edited May 11, 2013 by StewartWilson1992

We assassinated Hitler. We´ve got nude pics of Jessica Alba. And we are most hyped about GTA V. So there.

Many sites quote those numbers and replace word "shipped" with "sold". VGC voices the number of copies that were actually SOLD in magazines. Developer may ship 5 mln copies to retailer and retailer may sell 3 mln copies. The difference, 2 mln copies, were shipped to retailer but they weren't sold. gtamann123
GTA IV Total sales in the world XBOX 360: 10.23m PS3: 9.70m --- USA XBOX 360: 5.731 m PS3: 4.055 m --- Japan XBOX360: 0.133m PS3: 0.391m --- As you can see, half of sales is in USA. This is true almost for all others games Well yeah the US would have the highest amount of sales for pretty much every game. It's the largest country in the world that's wealthy enough for almost everyone to be able to afford video games. I think what the OP is saying is that GTA V is so big that markets that usually don't buy western games like japan are still getting hyped about it. Buffalo Soldier
eh, you know it's hyped up all over Europe, right? It isn't just America and Japan - the buzz in the UK for this game, is insane. All you have to do is take a trip into a town, pass a Game Store and you'll see GTA V plastered everywhere. Plus everyone's talking about it on a worldwide scale. Don't be so shocked. Gtaghost22
Many sites quote those numbers and replace word "shipped" with "sold". They can't do that. VGC voices the number of copies that were actually SOLD in magazines. I know, they're are just not accurate or realiable. I can list many games they were proven to undertrack but since I'm too lazy, I will just post this: http://www.examiner.com/article/why-vgchar...idered-reliable VGC can't be trusted because thier numbers are not accurate all the time. Game2048
Many sites quote those numbers and replace word "shipped" with "sold". They can't do that. Lol. Publishers simply don't count(or at least don't voice) amount of copies SOLD by different retailers. They voice only amount of copies that were shipped to retailers
MikeyBelic
READ THE BELOW SENTENCE BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY REPLY I DIDN'T INTEND TO IMPLY THAT THE US WAS THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE WITH THE TITLE. IT WAS A MISTAKE. LET IT GO. I was on another forum and came across a rather...interesting article. http://kotaku.com/5982367/here-are-the-top...ward-to-in-2013 Yeah, yeah, Kotaku, but scroll to number 9 on that list: it's GTA V. I'm actually quite surprised at this--as a fan of Japanese games myself this is not the kind of thing I expected. But it's interesting. Just thought this would be a nice little bit of trivia. Didn't see a previous thread about it.[/size] Americans can be so simple minded at the best of times.
