Seriously, gamers today are just too goddamn lazy.

I'm sorry, am I playing a game or working a goddamned coal mine?

Maybe both. Are you a coal miner?

No, but I certainly don't think GTA V should feel nearly that monotonous.

I think we should add in dildo weapons because dildos exist and therefore the game would actually be more realistic. Wait, people hate that idea? Too silly? Too stupid? But it's realistic because dildos actually exist, isn't it?

See where that goes? And people throw around the term lazy like we're cleaning tables at starbucks or working as an accountant at a large corporation instead of playing a game. I don't get it? Why can't I be lazy when playing a game? Why is that suddenly a GTA sin?

being lazy is stopping 5 seconds at a gas station rather than driving a 5 mile road trip dont you think?

What's the question again?

Why don't they make it as opinion (fuel on or off)?

@Racecarlock. Why are you bashing the gas feature so much? I notice that most of the members here you're the only who bashing this feature to death. Since I first introduce this idea. Will there be any harm if this feature will be in the game? For all I know R* also adapting other features from other games. They also aim for realism and take note Mafia 2 developers are also helping R* developing GTAV it seems there will be a chance that this feature might be in GTAV. Remember there are many things they still not reveal. ANd I think if R* put this feature it won't be in an annoying way.

Fueling up would be great. it would add a lot to the realism of driving in the game, which i'm all for.

100% for gas in gtav. Makes total sense at this point in gta as they keep getting more and more realistic every game. I mean damn.. We can get drunk, eat hot dogs, custom cars out the a$$, dive under water but we cant fill up cars? Seems stupid.

it worked in mafia 1 and 2 and was never annoying or hard to keep track off. I mean do any of you "gas haters" actually own an automobile? Ive never once forgot to fill up and end up running out of gas.. Its so simple and i fill up once a week.. So lets say my 4runner gets 450km's to a tank, and thats like 2 hours a day in driving over a weeks span. I donno about you but in gta i probly put 450km's on my favorite car over a span of a month as im always driving different cars so it barely racks the miles up.. So damn u may have to will your car up once a month in gta. Not a big deal.

Anyone hating on this is menatal and just doesnt want things to change. May aswell keep playing gta1 and stay in that era forever then.. Things have to move forward and while gta get more realistic it only makes sense to add in this tiny feature. And hey if your that kind of person that is so dumb and slow that they cant find 1 min to top a tank up in a video game then R* can have the "easy" setting in options so you can be the little noob goof you want to be. Sorry i will play on "hardcore" wink.gif

Have a good one!

optional is a pretty dumb way to do it imo. Either do it right or don't do it^^

They are already not doing it. Your loose, buddy.

I still do not know what we will do for air craft, boats and special cars like the monster truck if they have that in GTA V.

Not a good argument on your parts. This whole thread has many bad arguments.

So GTA HAD bad ideas before, does that mean we should add more bad, boring ideas? No you idiots! Is your IQ below 20 or something? We move on and make progress.

Everything you describe in there could be done in a GTA game. There would obviously be an indicator to warn you way before you run out of gas. There would be gas stations aplenty. (There were tons of them in GTA IV as it is, they blew up real good.) There could be a tow service you could call where they would come to you and fill your tank, maybe at twice the price of what you'd have paid at a gas station.

Seriously, I get the impression that most of the "I hate this idea!" attitude is coming from people who are too dumb to realize there are all kinds of ways that could make it just another part of the game that feels like the stuff that's already there and not some infuriating game breaking bullsh*t.

GTA IV introduced the concept of tires wearing out when you skid on them too much. If this was suggested here before the game came out, everyone would have been all "Are you kidding? What a f*cking retarded idea, I don't want my tires blowing out all the time! How annoying!"

It's not about whether it can be done or not. Of course it can be done. The problem is most gamers would never care enough to check.

The obvious question is "Why would I pay attention to my car's fuel levels?" This is what you guys don't seem to understand. I'm guessing you just WANT to pay attention to it, which is fine, but most people want to focus on the action. If I'm getting shot at and losing health, I will do what it takes to regain that health or AVOID dying. That's what happens in an active situation. What you're talking about is extremely passive. How do you regain fuel in the moment or AVOID running out of gas IN THE MOMENT?

It's not even close to the same thing as health. Tire wear is another horrible example. I got new tires a couple years ago and I drive like an asshole, but I get petrol every week. Why can't you guys realize filling up you car is annoying in real life. Why would it be any different in game? Do you have cars?

BTW, my tires have NEVER blown out in GTA IV unless I'm doing burnouts. What are you talking about?

How does re fulling an airplane or helicopter seem so impossible to you? They have airports dont they? There are airports all over SA so how could you not land and fill up after 2 hours of flying around in the dodo? Sure helicopters burn way more gas but atleast it keeps people from constant attack online for a few mins. I mean iv was nuts! If u were good in a heli u almost never die because they never run out of ammo, never run out of gas, and there is little health boxes pepperd all over the map incase you take some damage. Fuel could atleast regulate it a bit.

Also how in the hell could filling up a car be such a problem in the case of a mission? We have to plan ahead for mission now with setting up getaway cars, getting tools and weapons for the job. How would makinh sure the car has gas not factor into the who planning part they are now doing? It makes perfect sense!

I swear i barely post on here because 90% of you on here are 13 and have mental problems..

I really don't see the rewarding factor. You stand at the pump as it fills up. I'd say most of us don't drive the same vehicle long enough for it to be noticeable so what point does it have?

While you are at it, add hunger. Gotta eat 3 times a day to keep healthy. Also sleep. Gotta wake up in the middle of the night to steal that bank and a good night sleep is what you need.

How about going to the bathroom? Those 3 meals do not just fly into the air, silly! Hell, do not add planes! While trevor might be able to fly’em, he can’t get one without stealing it. Unless he has some big bucks and bigger pockets for his pay check! Because we will add work, for the ones who can work, from 9 AM to 5 PM in GTA time, you will stay in your work.

This.

I don't go on killing sprees or plan heists in my spare time. GTA allows me to safely do that in a way that is very unrealistic, and I'm happy about that, because permanent death or getting locked up for 25 to life would suck even in a game.

I don't know what game some of you are playing or what game you want to be playing, but how many things are truly carried over in a realistic way from actual to virtual in GTA?

There are alot of things that a boring in life bet are partnof life. In gta there are penty of boring this you have to do but arent a big deal. I like the idea of running out of gas after i stole a car as a kind of karma aspect. If you stoll a car in real life and it was low on gas would you go back to the owner and ask them why they didnt have it full for you? No. If you stoll a bank card and didnt know the pin making it useless would you find the owner and get mad at them? Lol. Sh*t happens deal with it.

Works in mafia just fine so its already proven that it doesnt hurt the game in any way. Plus as you just said gta does a good job of making aspects the perfect amount of realistic. Obviously they wouldnt make gas stations always full of people filling up like real life nor makinh it take a full 10 mins to fill up a car like real life. If anything it will take 15 seconds to keep it from dragging out the game. And its pretty much a given that gas stations will function as how else will you get or will up gas cans to go light stuff on fire.. Have to get that gas some place. China town wars let u fill up moltovs (or however its spelt) using a gas pump so why not in v? Pretty much like buyinh ammo for a gun, it runs out, you fill it back up.

I'd be OK with limited fuel. There are lots of factors in GTA games that can be considered "annoying". One of the central pillars of design when they were developing the first GTA was that the player had to face consequences for their actions, particularly being wanted by the police for crimes. In SA there was the whole thing where you would lose strength and stamina if you didn't exercise and watch what you eat. In IV there was the whole thing with friends constantly calling you to meet up. If you go back and read the GTA IV preview in EGM, Sam Houser said straight out that he knew people were going to be annoyed by it. He said that was the point, that's what having friendships and relationships is about... if you don't take time out to give your friends some time, then there will be consequences. My point is, "It would be annoying" is a bloody stupid argument against any new feature in a GTA game. Because R* not only doesn't give two f*cks if it annoys you, they INTEND to annoy you. They intentionally design these games to have that scope of experience. The good and the bad.

So bring on the f*cking gas tanks, I say. If I run out of gas I'll deal with it.

I disagree with this.

1. In the first game, you were chased by cops if you actually did something wrong, you had control over it.

2. No annoyance in III?

3. No annoyance in VC?

4. In SA, all skills dropped very slowly, unlike gas which would realistically drop very frequently. Muscle mass and stamina were barely needed since you were in a car most of the time, and like I said, it took a lot of time before you lost all your health due to not eating.

5. In IV, you weren't actually forced to answer anybody's calls, and you barely suffered any consequence for this.

Fuel would present a lot of problems. What if I don't want to abandon my customized car? What if I fail a missions because of this random thing?

I'd like GTA to remain annoying only after you did something to directly attract that annoyance, not an event that happens no matter what.

I don't buy the argument that "it's not under my control!" Do you drive a car in the real world? Do you run out of gas often, because it's "out of your control"?

Or do you make sure you always have gas?

It should be the same thing in GTA... if you run out of gas, it's only because you're a stupid moron who didn't think to take a few seconds to fill up at a gas station before initiating a mission. Obviously they would tune gas consumption rates so that most missions wouldn't force you to run out of gas unless you're a complete idiot.

I don't buy the "real world" argument. This is a game, not real life, this should be fun, not annoying. Do not sacrifice fun for realism.

It's an unnecessary gimmick.

There are way more important things to complain about like yogo than some gas.

It's not real life though. It's a video game. Do you even drive? Lets say for example you needed to drive a friend's car for a random emergency only to realise it's running on fumes, but that's ok sh*t happens so we just deal with it.

Trust me after the first couple of times you'd wish it was never put in and "yogo"? I assume you mean yoga? Yoga is a completely harmless, non-gameplay interrupting activity. I'd rather it in GTA V than re-fuelling.

I'm all for a believable experience, but I don't want to be punished with mundane everyday chores. Too many people try to sugarcoat it to make it seem appealling. Using Mafia II as an example is also a null point because what works for it doesn't necessarily work for GTA and vice versa.

Re-fuelling a car is one of the most tedious and un-exciting things we do every day. confused.gif

You should try to defend your point instead.

But I understand why you wouldn't. You now realize it's so weak that it's beyond defense.

Can't bother reading the entire topic so I'll take this one

By being good at the game. By buying gas every once in a while so you don't run out at the wrong moment like some moron.

Tell me how could you buy gas if you are in the middle of the mission, the cops wrecked your car with a lucky grenade thrown, you then had to jack a nearby couple with only a tiny meter left?

Not let that to happen? Sorry, but randomness is something we cannot control in GTA. Having to replay the mission over and over again until you got lucky and get to keep your ride is ANNOYING

[offtopic]In IV you didn't have to dial 911 specifically. If you wanted to restart your engine, you just had to dial any old number; like 555-5555.[/offtopic]

[offtopic]In IV you didn't have to dial 911 specifically. If you wanted to restart your engine, you just had to dial any old number; like 555-5555.[/offtopic]

Indubitably.

it would only bother me as much as having to eat in SA.

which only led to a fat, and then bulimic, carl Johnson. like someone said, maybe an option?

hell if more games gave you more options with their features I think everyone would be happy, I for one like to start games on say, a regular difficulty... and then try much harder.. (fallout:NV)

but gta is usually pretty cut and dry, i'm sure most of us will love whatever r* does with it and the rest will come whine about it for 2 years before gta 6.

^ Pretty much agree to this. Mafia 2's fuel system wasn't that bad, its traffic rules were. You'd have to drive the same car around for a long while before it runs out of fuel. Pointless, yes, but so is stuff like yoga or golf, it's what makes GTA more real and alive. But any more demanding than that (fuel runs out every few minutes or so), the novelty is gone and it gets really annoying.

It's a feature I wouldn't miss if it doesn't appear in GTA V, but if it did it might make things more interesting.

I have no problem with fuel in cars, as long as I don't have to put it there.

Lets say you have spent money buying mods for your favourite sports car. Then you drive out to the desert in Blaine County, and you run out of gas. I'm sure most people would be pissed.
