Point is adding fuel to game doesn't make it a challenge at all. In truth it adds nothing but "realism".

Same goes for limiting ammo. But they do it anyway.

thy for startpost, changed my mind about it, I'm fine with filling up gas tanks now.

Isn't that bad, and makes driving around like irl more fun in some way I guess biggrin.gif

But you're not losing heath when you're not getting shot, are you?

Fuel would go down even when your car is sitting completely still.

But, you want to know the real reason? It's because I'm lazy. I don't want to get virtual fuel because I want to hang out on the beach all day and drive fast in the mountains without any worries. It's fun to be lazy. I don't want to worry about fuel when I'm trying to set the land speed record for drifting.

Hell, your point about ammo bounces off of me because in the end one could still use melee weapons and I use cheats anyways, so guns are never a problem.

I just don't see why I should have to deal with fuel. It's not fun to me. Maybe if it was an option in the menu. BUT ONLY AS AN OPTION. Because I don't enjoy getting virtual gas.

Plus, with ammo and health, isn't it also possible to steal guns off of dead bodies and step on medkits which do not have eating animations?

Who says you'd lose fuel if the car isn't moving? Maybe it wouldn't. Or maybe it would be at such a reduced rate that it wouldn't matter. R* already learned this lesson in the SA Zero mission with the RC plane.

You run out of bullets, you switch to the far less effective melee.

You run out of gas, you steal another vehicle. Or you grab a gas can from the back of a truck. (We already know these exist)

I don't give a sh*t if you're lazy. That's you're problem. I'm not lazy.

Why the hell should I have to deal with a feature I find annoying and pointless?! Answer me that!

The same reason your lazy ass has to deal with a feature you don't like in any other game.

Or has nothing in a game ever annoyed you before?

I have faced a few annoying levels, but nothing so far that makes me do a chore I hate. Hell, san andreas has a no hunger cheat.

But back to the point.

"The same reason your lazy ass has to deal with a feature you don't like in any other game."

Which is what reason exactly?! If a game annoys me, I stop playing and find another game.

I would actually LOVE this feature to be in the game to be honest.

True. Adding ammo doesn't make it more of a challenge as it should because you can just use melee. However it's not boring getting ammo should you need it. Getting fuel for your car would be. I guess we will have to agree to disagree on adding fuel to the game. As far as we know it's not in anyway so that's that. tounge.gif

The real question is, why should I care if it annoys you? There are plenty of things that annoy some people but not others. It has no bearing. Again, R* already has a proven track record of putting new things in games and not giving two craps if it annoys anyone.

"It would annoy me" is not a compelling argument.

Yes. It is.

I don't know why you seem to be incapable of realizing how people get fun from different sources.

So doing it every 6 minutes is fun. If you don't do it that much then its a useless feature that shouldn't be in there. Only role-playing players like it. There is less of you then of everyone else.

A better question is this: Why is it that almost every time someone simply doesn't agree with a feature or doesn't want it in, they are considered to be "hating" on it? Some of you folks use that word way too much and use it in the wrong context.

As for fuel, you answered your question in the OP. Some people will find it annoying and tedious. They feel as though you are in the middle of the desert on your Sanchez, and all of a sudden you run out of gas. I wouldn't really mind it, for my imagination always leads me to role playing in GTA. However, it would be nice if we could just go to the gas station and fill up, without the car ever running out of gas. Kind of like sitting down in Driver 2, you did not have to do it, but it was just a little feature that was there, just cause.

I'm just going to ignore your little sh*t slinging match and answer the OP.

How? Some complaints I read on here are... "it would suck to run out of gas mid chase." Well it also sucks when the cars break down completely mid chase too. Should R* take out car damage then? I mean if having to fill up would be annoying then how is having to pay n spray to fix your damaged car not annoying?

Like many have stated, If I crash my car and have to pay n' spray it, that's not forced on me, that was my fault for smashing it up. Also just because there is already annoying things in game, doesn't mean we should add more, that's like saying "Well heaps of people are already murdering each other, it won't hurt much if I murder my mother as well."

It's not one feature like that that is annoying, it's 20 of them combined.

Well neither is filling up your health, ammo, carwash, pay n spray, etc. I mean come on Yoga is in the game. How exciting will that be? I dont see you guys bashing that.

Like I just stated, those things are already a bit of a nuisance, adding fuel into the mix just makes it more a nuisance. The reason we don't bash Yoga is because it is optional, we don't have to do it.

Also the problem with adding these tedious little ideas people have is, like I said, they build up;

"Oh let's add fuel, it won't be too much of a hassle"

"Oh, let's add electricity bills you have to fill out and pay"

"Oh let's add a jail sentence for every time you get busted."

"Oh let's add parking fines that result in jail if not paid."

"Oh let's add traffic fines."

And so on.

I Have a solution though.

I think Rockstar should add fuelling up into the game but it doesn't actually do anything, you can have an optional meter on screen if you like, BUT! If you choose you can remove the meter so it doesn't bother you, and even if the meter is empty, the car keeps running, that way all you fuel lovers can watch your precious animation and go to service stations.

No, no no no. Gas wouldn't be free, it would cost money. And if you're broke at the start of the game and just want to free roam this would effectively render the game useless if you don't want a bunch of cops on your back.

I think the only acceptable way this could be included is if a full tank of fuel comes with the health cheat in a car.

I really think it wont happen though because nobody mentioned it in the demos and, obviously there needs to be a fuel bar on screen in order to know when you're about to run out.

So if no one mentioned it was in the demos I think it wasn't included, so unless they make it a very late addition, and considering the controversy of the subject, I think making a rash decision on this subject is not something Rockstar would do.

Personally I don't see much difference between going to Ammunation or a gun shop or meeting up with Jacob to buy ammo or picking up weapons is any more boring than stopping off at a gas station, stealing another car, or grabbing a gas can. They seem pretty comparable to me.

OK now I can agree to disagree with you. tounge.gif

I played Mafia 2, I really didn't like a lot in the game while driving, (mostly the cops, my god I want to drive fast in an open world game, 2K!)

included the gas filling.

But you had to do it really often. I think if the fuel lasts for at least a day or something I'm fine with it.

I'm not even an RPG fan, but I like the idea, maybe you'll have to fill up your car before every chase so you don't have to change the escape car unless you drive like a moron (or the badly paid dude^^)

It is if rockstar games wants to keep me as a fan. Plus, they haven't shown me any evidence that they'll put in that feature anyways.

I mean, what if I suggested a feature where your character would literally die of boredom if he doesn't get in a tank every hour? It's the same basic feature, just with a different thing. Would you fight nearly as hard for it?

What if I suggested a feature where you make friends with NPCs, and then they start calling you on the phone to hang out, and they just keep calling and calling and calling, they never stop, they always call and they always demand you drop whatever you're doing and go and do stupid pointless boring sh*t with them? Can you imagine? R* would never do such a thing, everyone would hate the game, nobody would buy it after the first few days because word would spread, they'd lose all of the money they invested in making the game and R* would go out of business.

It's absurd. R* would never do anything like that.

Didn't even need to read your stupid argument.

"Well it's annoying when your car breaks down mid chase".

Yeah except you can control that, you can't control gasoline genius. This so dumb.

Please tell me how you can "control" the outcome when being chased by cops? Getting shot and rammed constantly is beyond your control. Especially in Vice City where they throw those annoying f*cking spike strips every 2 blocks.

By being good at the game.

It's not hard to avoid cops, They are about as smart as a bag of Cow sh*t. Which means if cops annoy you, You're being outsmarted by cow sh*t.

yeahh... NO

What I'M saying is that I (YES ME) would appreciate this feature.

I don't care if it's in or not, I'd like it tho.

What I don't like it people talking like "Oh wow see car fuel is in, special abilities is in, I don't like this feature, I think everyone should dislike this feature just like me"

Sorry if I missunderstood you.

You use cheats during the storyline, think SRIII is a good game, and hate the driving in GTA IV.

R* should do everything in it's goddamn power to not keep you as a fan.
