Thanks once again for the scans, xcroptic. As has been pointed out by now, there's nothing new here. The only thing I picked up of any minor interest was the fact they mentioned that Rockstar Games were unsure on the usability of public transport, outside of taxis (for now at least). I don't think that nugget of info includes taking (subway) trains though, as the code is already there for it in IV (as with taxis). If anything, this could mean their contemplating on whether or not we can take buses (excluding the tour buses); meaning that just because we've seen multiple buses driving around, it doesn't necessarily mean we can hop on board.

...if they give so much attention to such a small details as customization of "PETS" in this game and lots of other stuff, then i can't imagine any public transport in this game without its primary public purposes!...its like no freaking way! use your common sense...besides Xbox magazine already proved how "credible" they're...

I think Rockstar's reservation on the matter would be to do with the fact we can jump across the map via the three characters anyway, so it would be somewhat a waste of time to incorporate it, as it could be argued that it would be a rarely used feature. As for taking taxis being currently in regardless of these reservations, they can just copy it over, so there's no time wasted either way.

 

Also, customising pets has not been confirmed, nor has any other pet besides Chop been confirmed (in black and white). I don't think that cancels out why they would not include one miniscule detail, just because something else minor is in. With that angle, they might as well include everything that's anything (hypothetically ridding hardware and time limitations).

...but wouldn't it add more immersion and isn't it what R* is aiming for? a lively and breathing world full of events? ...besides i never said that "pets customization" confirmed, thats just one of those small details i picked right from my head as i remember people speculating, when they've seen different colors of Chop's collar as those topic emerged...

I agree, but I think Rockstar are making (and have made) comprises regarding many things of this manner, and things they wish to include in the game. I'd love for it to be in, even with character switching, because as you said, it builds immersion. But time and hardware limitations mean they have to juggle things like this around on the drawing board, and considering (as I mentioned) it can be deemed somewhat impractical due to the switching mechanic and taxis offering similar functional purposes already, it would be one of the easier things to put on the back burner.

You'll still be able to steal a bus, I don't see why you wouldn't, you just wouldn't be able to get on it as a passenger (the writer was implying that taxis are currently the only way to jump around the map besides character switching). Unless you're saying that it would be criminal to let NPCs take a passenger seat, but not you, then I get where your coming from, like I said.

 

Although, when you put it into perspective, if these buses do have paths (we know they populate the roads this time at least) that stop at bus stops where NPCs can get on them (we have yet to see this though), it shouldn't be too far out of the realms of possibility to let you do the same (if that is how it will work in-game), and maybe for them to build on top of that with a similar functionality to taxis (skipping to different stops?).

 

... but we can't have everything. Would be a nice touch though, for sure.

What I think everyone fails to realise is that these magazines are catering for people that aren't addicted to these forums like we are. So for some members of the general public this is probably new info!
