The free-roam in GTA:IV was perfect. Hopefully they do not adopt the posse system of RDR; the games felt dead, silent, boring. I sincerely hope they keep the classic free-roam mode relatively unchanged.

Although, it would certainly be cool to bring upgrades and skins you've unlocked by playing competitive game modes into the free-roam.

I spent 95% of my online time in Free Mode for GTAIV, and out of all my free mode games, maybe 25% of those were NOT ruined by idiots.

It would be cool if during matchmaking, Rockstar could use a player's behavior based on their free mode stats to determine what room to place them in.

If a player has played 12 free roam games and has 200 kills, put him in a room with similar people that also kill a lot and let their room be total chaos. On the contrary, if a player has played 100 free mode games and killed 10 people, then he should be thrown in with other people who also don't kill everyone in sight.

I think matchmaking based off of statistics would increase the chances of everyone getting matched up with people that play the game in a similar way to how you want to play it, and that would cut down on having games ruined by a lone wolf killer or a big group of killers. I know a lot of people play free mode for reasons other than just murdering.

Also, with the map being as gigantic as it will be, upping the amount of people per room would be great. I think it was only 16 in GTA IV and that wasn't enough even for that relatively small map.

Finally, how about a free mode option for no radar blips revealing where everyone else is?

Isn't the whole purpose of this kind of multiplayer is cooperating with other player even in killing guys who kill everyone else?

That's what I liked in TBOGT where you wasn't able to kill other players in some of Free Mode games. But there was classic Free Mode as well where everyone played however he wanted to. I think that they should leave this feature - you either play in a peaceful playground or deal with players.

I think you are saying you like the two room types: one where you can kill people and one where you can't. I like that idea in theory, but I can't tell you how many "Friendly Fire OFF aka CAN'T KILL others" were ruined by people blasting rockets off each other's skulls, catapulting you to a new ZIP code (but not to your death) or blasting your car so you wait inside until the flames go out (and then leaving the car without a scratch.)

I'd rather have the option to kill be on there to avoid those aforementioned moments (and for it to be a little more realistic) if you knew the stats-based matchmaking could help increase the likelihood of you being in a room with players that play the game similar to you.

I know it's not realistic, but in a perfect world, the matchmaking would drop everyone into the right room.

GAME MODE NUMBER ONE: Players vs Zombies

Yes, I know. Zombies. Again. They're everywhere. Not a fan of them myself.

But imagine if you start somewhere in the middle of the desert with your buddy/buddies, and have to make your way to some house that's situated miles away. On the way through, you meet lots of zombies. And you know, there's night and the weather is heavy. There aren't any running cars. And the ammo is limited. Pure survival.

-----------------------------------

GAME MODE NUMBER TWO: Burglars vs Burglars

Two opposite teams have to break in a certain house, steal special packages and deliver them to 'the boss'. At the start of the game, each team is situated about the same distance from the house where the package is located. Your team have to break in without getting noticed by the guards and cameras. If you get caught, you lose points (and so your team). When you meet guys from the opposite team, you can kill them, but again - you lose points for that. When a member of one or another team takes the package, member from the opposite team can take it from him. But bear it - if you kill just anybody or get caught by the guards, you lose points! The one who delivers those packages to 'the boss' can win the game... unless they lost too much points on getting caught or killing. Just imagine those pursuits when one team drives to the boss with the package and the other team is in pursuit to stop them!

What? GTA IV's free roam wasnt perfect. Yes it was fun, but there was NO point. RDR's free roam got old pretty fast tbh, but its because RDR is set in the old west, so no choppers, fast cars, etc...

I hope they put some cool stuff to do in GTA 5. Not just ride around doing random stuff. That was only fun if you played with a friend.

That's what free roam is! You are free to do whatever the hell you want. The whole point is that there isn't any point!

There weren't too many things to do in Free Mode except killing people imo. I could never figured out what were people doing in "peaceful" Free Mode, except basejumping (which was fun, but got old pretty fast) and racing (which had its own game mode).

The thing I never liked was the kids crying in the mic not to kill them.

Former for team/action-based game modes, latter for Free mode.

I would like GTA IV's free mode to remain relatively the same also, except you have the ability to do the activities you can in SP such as drinking at a bar or club and getting drunk online, playing some pool with other players, poker, darts etc. You know, stuff like that.

You're right about that. I am assuming there will be a lot more things to do other than kill in this new map, due to the different terrains and its sheer size.

Free Roam must be changed to similar like RDR's where you can gain normal XP completing activities like clearing gang blocks, killing animals, killing cops, doing robberies and such...

There should be many MP game modes such as Busted, Demo derby on top of Mt. Chilliad and different places, Races and such...

It would be interesting to have a mode similar to a RolePlaying mode.

Yup, and I also agree with the post above concerning SP activities. That will add so much playing time. Lol that'd be so much fun to kill a bunch of drunken players. Or killing them while they play pool or bowling (wouldn't be so funny for them, though).

"Just riding around doing stuff" is all I want from free mode. There are other games mode that allow you to do more objective-based things, free mode is not one of them.

I am absolutely not opposed to adding activities and other things for people to do, but I want the emphasis still to be on running around doing whatever. Very few people I know found the FR boring in GTA IV

I'll quote some people but not sure how to do little quotes...

I too like free-mode. It is the reason, and other multi-player modes, that I play the game. Its fantastic being able to chill with ya mates, with random peeps and on my own. 1st quote is I too want free-mode to be unchanged from 4 but I reckon there should be alternate rooms WITH the RDR gang option just so we have the option. Another quote is I also think that if a player just chills out in free-mode (like me... unless you kill/try to kill me) then I would like to be put in rooms with people like me. If I want to go on a rampage and essentially turn free mode into a deathmatch then there should be a free-mode room for this. In other words I suppose a room for ALL variations would be cool and considering the multi-player customisaed matches we can supposedly create, I reckon we will get something along these lines.

Massively customisable options for ALL multi-player games would be awesome.

Back to free-mode quickly, an 'I'm friendly' button would be cool in free-mode - this would let others that you are there to just chill. Note - if someone takes the piss and kills the person after using it then all bets are off ofc. Another quote, being able to progress your career online in free-mode and other modes would also be very cool. I'm an online player, I'd rather play with others than play with AI so I too hope that all vehicles + customisable options are in free-mode. Something I'm looking forward to doing is getting a Land Rover (or equiv), tuning it up, attaching a trailer to it, loading my quad bike onto the trailer, driving out to some destinations and having a good scud icon14.gif

That is such a noob mentality, I mean it's funny for you but people like you is that ruin the game for others, that's just being annoying.

You shouldn't be allowed to touch other players while they're doing an activity imo.

Yup, that's why I'm all-for "peaceful" rooms.

And I find nothing "noob" in doing what is not forbidden. The more people complain the more I'll do that.

A heist mode. Some select players will have do do a heist while the other players are on a police team. Some in patrol cars with handguns and shotguns with SWAT/NOOSE officers in armored vehicles and tactical weapons.

I also agree with this. I havent played GTA IV online but RDR has become the same thing (no one uses other modes or even hardcore) but atleast the gave it a Liars and Dice board game.

I hope we can do alot of mini games with people online in freeroam and friends, Racing ofcourse (with customized cars) and I hope in my heart that with this crew system, there might be heists to pull in MP with your crew. Which can trigger like hideout shootouts in RDR.

Imagine 2 different crews trying to pull the same heist separately while fighting each other. Things will get interesting.

Grand Theft Savage

Hardcore Mode = Realistic health, realistic damage, Free-Aim... Also, does anyone like the idea of not having an HUD in hardcore?

Free Roam

- Similar to Red Dead Redemption's. With gang-hideouts and challenges to complete for money, Xp and rewards.

Hardcore Mode available

Deathmatch

- A free-for-all shootout.

Hardcore Mode available

Team Deathmatch

- Team up with players and go head to head with another team in an intense shootout. Like in GTA IV, there can be multiple teams.

Hardcore Mode available

Racing

- New and improve racing. You can race with boats, aircraft, cars and motorbikes/quads.

Co-op Missions

- Like Red Dead Redemption's. The players are given a task. Each co-op mission gives you a different task.

Hardcore Mode available

Domination/Stronghold

- Just like CoD Domination Game Mode. You must hold the point(s) longer than the enemy team.

Hardcore Mode Available

Cage Fighting

- Players face-off with melee.

Crash & Carry

- Like Capture The Flag mixed with a new and improved version of GTA IV's "Cops & Crooks". One team robs a bank, the other team must prevent the robbers from doing so. Take the goods and make it back to your base.

Hardcore Mode available

YOLO

- 16 players in a free-for-all match in an intense shootout. Be careful, because you only live once. (You get one life, no respawning.) Also, a team-based version of this.

Hardcore Mode available
